I think people do better when they know better and believe better is possible.

I'm Christian, but politically neutral as well. I find American politics to be intensely divisive and unnecessarily cruel.

I think from what you explained, a like does mean something to him. He made clear that he didn't "like" the pics on the thirstrap pages, but then he proceeds to like pics of girls he has hooked up with? If a like meant nothing, why isn't it the other way around? Why intentionally send out that type of message to girls he actually knows? This would bother me too.

That's sad. I'm a black woman and my values are fully in line with what's posted here. I don't understand the issue. I'm truly confused by why we are getting banned from so many subs. I have never posted or commented anything disparaging or less than helpful.

Yes, I was banned from r/offmychest for simply commenting here. I never comment anything disparaging or rude, so I find it very confusing.

Masculinity is a behavior, attitude, belief and commitment just as much or moreso than it is a look.

If I were you i would focus on who you want to date. There is no way we can generalize and get into the minds of why ppl choose who to date. I am an ethnic woman, and I've dated every race of man. I am now married to a black man. People date a variety of people until they find the one. Focus on finding the one and be happy for people who have found the person they want to be with. Focusing on race is pointless.

I agree with you. As a Christian black woman, I get my worth from God, not society. The reason I can say this is because I have been called beautiful for most of my life. I used to crave the acceptance of others and I used to fear losing my looks or my wit. Even knowing I was accepted never fully satisfied me. I always craved more and was fearful of losing it. It drove me to a life of anxiety and panic attacks. I am so much more than my looks - even if ppl don't see that. I only find rest in kno…

I learned to cook off of YouTube and asking my mom for her recipes. YouTube was a gamechanger for me personally. I find it very empowering that I can now cook gourmet meals for myself and my family.

I own an online clothing store and I sell uber feminine clothing at a reasonable price. The only downside is the shipping time (2-3 weeks).

I got blocked on r/offmychest for simply posting here last week. I was shocked as I never post anything inflammatory and I would never bully anyone. I’m still confused as to how that is allowed. It’s very presumptive.

I feel it's genetics moreso than age that'll decide. Look at your mother and the women on your dad's side -- how'd they do after birth?

Dr. Michelle on YouTube under the handle 'A Feminine Impression' is an excellent choice! Best wishes to you.

Dr. Michelle on YouTube with 'A Feminine Impression' does a great job of this. She also has a podcast.

I am thin with a protruding collar bone, but I have a round butt that pops out in a noticeable way. For context I am 5'8 and 125 pounds. I think the balance between being thin yet having some healthy curve to my body helps. I assume that rail thin without any womanly curve at all is not ideal to some men. I am a black woman, and i've noticed that my body type attracts men of all races due to my thin frame balanced by some sort of feminine softness or curve.

Do you plan on marrying your boyfriend? I’m very traditional, but marriage would be the point at which I lavish my man with these ideals in full.

I’m sorry you are going through this. His actions are super selfish.

It’s unacceptable for a husband not to work at all and leave you with the burden of taking care of the family ( at least in my Christian world view it is). Marriage should be a partnership. I understand why you would feel stuck. Was he like this prior to the marriage? If you left him, how would he survive? I would ask him that question and follow up about making it a reality if he doesn’t work towards a change. This is a form of abandonment in my opinion. To be clear, being out of work or being …

Thankfully, it sounds like you have a choice of whether to continue in this relationship or not. Why not use that liberty and decide to keep him as a friend while you keep your options open. The same way he was presented to you, maybe there can be another, more appropriate match?

School, work, bible study or any other type of group affiliation or fellowship are good ways to build a structure around your daily life and gain friends. You should look into one or maybe a few of these options if possible.

Personally, for me, it would be immodest. I am far from a prude and I wear tight jeans all the time, but something about the material and form of most leggings make me feel super uncomfortable and bare when wearing them out. This may also be due to my shape, I'm thin and petite, but my butt is pretty prominent and I like keeping it under wraps, as it invites unwanted attention at times.

I've done therapy more times than I can count. Individually and maritally... Neither of us have ever found it helpful in any lasting way. I do believe that in limited circumstances, going to see an objective 3rd party could be helpful. But I agree with you, it's seen as the end all be all and relational band-aid to the detriment of many.

No, I don't think it's very loving or truly kind to give false praise. A better idea is to find something positive you truly believe about the person and lavish them with that.

My hair is past curly, it's actually afro textured since I'm black. I'm married now, but prior to that, I had no problem attracting men or being seen as feminine and elegant. Quite the opposite. My hair is a showstopper. I make sure to keep it healthy, shiny and full. When I wear my hair straight, I do the same = healthy, shiny, full. I take hair vitamins and make sure not to over-shampoo my hair.
