Men tend to perform the action with less deliberation. It's data is not sound. Notably, clinicians were asked to evaluate the seriousness of suicide attempts and overwhelming assigned female intent to be "manipulative." Of course, there are many instances of manipulative attempts by suicidal people, but this methodology of data collection is incredibly biased.
