It’s ok, but why not straight to drinks?

I know what you mean. I do great on dates off OLD because I’ve got a captive audience and I can work my eventual charm. I’m envious of people who can just go out and be instantly attractive. I’m working on it.

Nighttime museum (if there’s one open) is usually a pretty good date anytime.

Honestly depends what you want, but I’ve been double texted when I’ve been a little busy and it helped me prioritize someone who was more interested in me than someone else.

What’s wrong with a work night? All my first dates are in work nights. Less pressure, plenty of legit excuses to end it at any time. Perfect for just grabbing a drink or two with expectations.

It’s worth a shot, but I find waiting has worked better. A quick date has never led to a regular date for me.
/r/seduction22/09/22 07:06 PM

Don’t . Do not use a phone number acquired professionally for anything else. The only way you could make the pivot is if you work together in person and you ask them to do something outside of work, also in person. Happy hours are a good transitional stepping stone. But very very carefully read signs. You’ll need to have really good replies before you try to move it beyond. Otherwise you can really mess things up at work.

Tbh, I haven’t improved from things read here. The advice is ok sometimes but I generally know that and the advice I need tends to be a bit vague (just approach!!) I have improved tho, but using things I’ve found on other dating/social skills subreddits.

Yeah, if the first date was good. I message the next day saying I had a good time. Then I either segue to another invite that day or a day later. Sorta depends on when I’m free next, don’t want to ask too far in advance.

I text slightly more than just “logistics” but I don’t try to have long text chats before a few dates. That being said, if she’s chatty and wants to talk a lot, I tend to respond so not to put her off.
/r/seduction20/09/22 05:45 PM

Yeah, if you were having rewarding conversations then maybe it’s worth letting it play out a little longer in text, but don’t get emotionally invested.

“I think WhatsApp is impersonal and hard to develop a genuine connection.” That being said, they’re not into you. You should cut losses and move on.

Interesting experience. I usually go with a “where’s the last fun place you got to visit?” And have decent success on bumble with it. It’s open ended but also easier to answer than “your favorite” type questions. In terms of better, I’d have asked a fun question about her that needs more than a yes or no.
/r/seduction02/09/22 05:16 PM

You didn’t do yourself any favors here. However, I tend to let convos die if I’m asking good open ended questions and I only get simple answers back and question. I always ask a question at first and my first “interest test” is to just respond with a comment and see if they continue the convo.

Honestly, if you’re going to be gone for a while I wouldn’t try. It’s one thing if you had a pre-existing relationship that became long distance, but I would start one. It’s too much emotional investment for me without getting enough in return. Oh always felt dragged down because I couldn’t just see them whenever. This hasn’t answered your question tho. I would recommend finding someone who is local but also is planning to move back to the US sooner or later.
/r/seduction25/12/21 05:39 PM

I send 5-10 messages depending on how the convo is going then ask them to grab a drink (usually with a plan). For my messages I use this formula: Answer their question Tell a little about me (humorously if I can) Ask an open ended question. If they do the same they are eager to meet up.

Find a believable reason for coming across her contact info. Mutual friend or scrolling Instagram. Either way you don’t have s great shot here but you should open with a “what are the odds!” And maybe joke it’s fate.

I have, I ended a very long relationship because of this. I had settled too early and never stopped wishing I could put myself out there again. This ultimately led to the end of things, but way way too late. However, that was my own number, I had more experience than she did. I would make sure that you take a deep look at why you are concerned about the difference in your numbers.... if it's just retroactive jealousy then it may pop up next time no matter what the numbers are.

I used to have this, until I got a bit more experience sending messages. Now I don’t worry at all. I think a lot of it had to do with being worried about getting rejected and getting to invested too quickly. I’ve learned that it doesn’t even get real until you meet up.

It’s sun of everything that makes you attractive to women. For some people that leans heavier to looks or to personality or being really good at interacting with women. For most you’ll need a combination of them. I know that’s not a very helpful answer but there isn’t a one size fits all for it.

Unless you like you are starving that's not the case (and your picture doesn't make it seem like you are).
/r/seduction16/09/21 07:35 PM

You can't expect to seal the deal within 15 minutes, you'll want to build up stamina. If you can go 2 hours then you've got something to work with. But if you get exhausted within 15 minutes, why do you even want to seduce someone? If it's purely physical then there might be more transactional ways to get what you are looking for.
/r/seduction16/09/21 04:07 PM

You're thinking about it all wrong. Maybe she was zoned out, maybe she was interested, the real question is, were you interested? If you were, then you should have approached (either then or later depending on work tasks). Make up your mind, then if the universe gives you a sign (either real or imagined) make your move.

If you have tinder+ you can swipe in your new city before you arrive and try to arrange something for when you are there.

Honestly, maybe be the good guy here and let her know that you feel the connection slipping away and you'd like to meet up to return her stuff. Or, if you are feeling like trying to go the more casual route (for you own self esteem or because you are still physically attracted), take her up on the offer. Make sure you are hanging out near or AT your place.
/r/seduction14/09/21 08:57 PM
1

Don't hate yourself too much for this one, you are already winning the hardest part of the battle which is getting people interested in you. I'd much rather have a date that went 8 hours long, was super great, that leads to a good follow on date where I can escalate vs one where I spent 8 hours worrying about when or how I was going to kiss her.
/r/seduction14/09/21 08:39 PM

Wait a day or two. If there is no response, shoot her a text with a specific plan for a specific night. Sometimes people wait too long to reply then feel weird about sending even a normal response.
/r/seduction14/09/21 07:43 PM

Honestly, I'd let this one slide away. Unless the dates were really really good, you're going to hangout this weekend and it'll feel off and you'll wish you had done something else.

Did you get her snap? TBH, the biggest goal should be to get her contact info and then take her out another night. If you aren't sure you should try to kiss her, save it for then (others will say go for it no matter what, but if it's going to stress you out, make your decision to wait.)
/r/seduction13/09/21 04:58 PM

Honestly, this is why you don't go snooping. You two are not exclusive so she's just out there doing what she was probably doing long before she met you. Did you meet her on Tinder? If so, you were one of the ones that she actually met with! It might be more frequent than you, but tbh sometimes I match with several people at the same time and it takes 4-5 messages before only one of them even looks like a viable person to date. I mean it does suck knowing about it -- but you brought that on your…

Always have questions. And even better, have you're own answers. Your answers should be good, they should either reveal something about you or the way you think. That being said, some people will simply be a wet blanket and you will not get an effortless conversation out of them. Move on from them asap.
/r/seduction08/09/21 03:50 AM

Oh, you wouldn’t say you are waiting for a friend, it’s more of having that attitude while you are just chilling. If they asked what you are up to just say you are going to a nearby store or whatever.

Then don't approach random women. Talk to the women in your social circle Join groups that interest you that have a mixed crowd. Then interact with women in them and notice the signs of attraction. And again, improve your online dating -- you should be getting matches and if you aren't it's something wrong with your profile.

Fix your profile. Get advice from r/Tinder or online dating to make sure you've got good photos. What are your hobbies? You've already got the looks. Honestly, anywhere you get to really interact with them. For me a lot of that is from online dating, they've already swiped on me, I know they are uninterested. But I've also been able to improve outside of that. I started to get involved in more group activities, and I just simply made it a point to interact with more women. I mean reading your ot…

How's online dating working out for you? Also, as someone who has discovered how to be at least semi-successful with women in his 30s.... sometimes you need to put yourself in the right places to actually see the interest from women.

I have. I was in a long relationship since my 20s, and then found myself trying to learn to date in my mid-thirties. I was never good at dating before, haven't been the most social, and yet I've been able to figure it out.

It sucks to do, but a running club. You'll need to find the right one, as many will be super healthy, but then there are plenty were everyone is happy to grab a drink after a run. Find that one. You'll stay healthy and you'll get a great social circle.

First date is usually somewhere convenient to the two of us. For the next dates I try to make sure we have good logistics, either near my place or hers. It's even better if she suggests a place near hers. But I still play it by ear, so establishing touch and then suggesting going back for a drink (after one or two at the bar). But yeah, I always take the pressure off the first date and just work on establishing a good connection.
/r/seduction01/09/21 07:00 PM
2

If you hadn't given her a proper kiss yet, then yeah it seems too soon to be asking back. My guideline is to not even bother asking back on the first date, but to just go for the kiss. The times I've gone further on the first, it was so obvious I couldn't miss it.

/r/seduction31/08/21 06:30 PM

If you haven't already, just bet a kiss. Let her name her thing first of course. If you have, then start with something small, like a drink and then go from there. I'd also be careful to read her if you plan to ask her back to your place at the end of this date. You might be well served having an excuse to go back (or maybe even a bet that is not sexual but can be paid off at your place?)

Two things, first that was pretty quick to move from hello to let's talk with our voices. That's a big jump up that does stress some people's comfort level, mine included. I'd rather share a few texts just to make sure that we are tiny bit interested in talking further. Secondly, and more importantly, she flat out told you she wanted to text more and then you suggest 2 other ways to not do that. Regardless of what one is "supposed to do" or not, you gotta listen if she says that she'd prefer to …

Generally speaking, I feel the most comfortable with a 2-4 day chatting period, just to build enough messages then ask for to meet up for drinks. The number of days is less important than getting in those couple of back and forths -- I usually wait until the convo takes at least two swipes to get to the top. The longer her replies the better and if she's asking questions each reply than she's def interested. I actually make the ask on the app though, and only offer my phone number once the gener…

First of all, congrats on the first date, now that's out of the way you can have many more. A hug at the end of the date is perfectly normal (especially coffee date), whether it went well or just ok. Only if it goes really poorly do I avoid anything else. If it went really well I'd text the next day something along the lines of, "I had a great time meeting you, we should do it again". You are younger so feel free to come on a little less strongly. If it just went ok, but you might run into them …

I don't care for video calls, but this is the perfect opportunity for one. Have one of those to just gage general interest and attraction. Don't get too attached yet though, 3 hours can be a dealbreaker.
/r/seduction26/08/21 07:43 PM
2

Yeah, but what does that have to do with "getting to know each other a bit better"? She wants to just talk to you a little bit to see if you have at least a tiny connection. All you need to do is find a common interest and talk about that, not spill your guts.
/r/seduction26/08/21 03:27 PM

Honestly, in my opinion, everything you listed boils down to only one thing. Confidence. Confidence in yourself and your actions. If you can project that, it won't matter if you command or ask, if you protect or you give her room, if you are a leader or someone who goes with the flow.
/r/seduction26/08/21 03:16 PM

This right here. Give them a reason to talk to you. You'll have to calibrate it to the type of person and the time of night, but if they're interested it should flow. If they aren't, eject.

/r/seduction26/08/21 03:08 PM

No flowers, hug is good idea, keep the compliment light "You look nice!" "I'll get it this time, you can get it next time" No, don't play that game. Definitely don't talk --- unless she's whispering to you, then match. Definitely hug if you did at the beginning. I would recommend not driving straight home after the movie, have a second thing of interest to see or do. Even if it's just grabbing a drink to talk about the movie. As long as it gives you time to talk and get to know each other.

You're going to get a lot of specific advice that is going to rely on reading the situation properly and with confidence, which if you could and had you wouldn't be asking this question! So when you read everyone's tips and ideas don't take them as the hard and fast rules you must follow. I'm assuming that you don't want to do just drinks (though that'd still be my recommendation), but a bar that has games, skeeball is a great one. Pool hall can be fun too, though if you want to get close I recommend darts (play the most simplified version of cricket if you are both bad).

You're overthinking it. By now you should know two places that have a great appetizer, you ask which she'd prefer (ex. potato chip nachos or buffalo tots?) . I use both, thought tinder has dried up recently, bumble continue to give good leads. I use it to get dates. From there I see where things go. I am mostly interested in casual relationships, but willing to commit to the right thing. I never try to go straight to talking sleeping with them, and outside the rare occasionally, the first date is always more of a screen than something that will end up in the bedroom. Second dates tho, that's where it's at.

Just a quick few points Try to respond faster if you can, if you end up exchanging a few messages that are all hours or days apart, she's more likely to lose interest. A single good chat in one evening (can be less than 20 messages total) is all you need to ask her to grab a drink sometime. Avoid comment on her race or guessing her vibe -- unless it's continuing a joke that she made. If you had more matches this would be fine, but the risk might be thinning your chances a bit. Fix those pictures…

Meet up up sooner. It won't stop all ghosting, but the longer you chat the higher the chance she'll get distracted or bored or whatever.

Yes, everyone has. I could list the 500 possible reasons why she ghosted you, but none of them really matter. Remember the good things you did this, learn from the bad things, and get out there again.

4-5 days a week -- though this is mostly dates from OLD (Bumble, Tinder). I try to go out with friends, but it's been a struggle and don't really want to go out alone.

But why does that bother you? At that point you haven't met these people and you shouldn't have anything invested in them. Part of your strategy should be recognizing that most likes, most matches, and most conversations will not lead to the next step. If you're getting dates then you're doing fine. If you're spending a lot of time trying to craft amazing openers or responses, then you probably should pull back the effort a bit.

If you've got hundreds of matches then I think you might be approaching this the wrong way. Most of those will go no where but it shouldn't be hard to turn enough of those in to dates to keep yourself pretty busy.

This is all very true. I've gotten the "I'm too busy right now" but then seen their OLD profile get updated. It definitely sucks, but it's better than being ghosted.

The comments seem pretty down on it, but I guess I'm the counter point. I use online apps nearly exclusively and I tend to go on a couple of dates each week as a guy. Some of those have gone to more and some have fizzled. I am in a top 20 city though and in a slightly older age bracket so things might be skewed.

Yeah, I mean if you talked about what she was going to be doing or she's going to a cool place you can ask a specific question, but the generic "how's your" tends to lead to boring convos. Those are great, if you can get here to meet up between her trips even better.

Good - A call back to date for some topic or inside joke OK - Something of interest to share (music you both like, movie, new streaming show, etc) Bad - How's your vacation going? (But it's better than not texting -- better to be asked in a more fun way that that)

Look, obviously everyone wants a nice long goodbye to remind them that the other person doesn't really want to leave your company, but..... good byes on first dates can be super weird and awkward. I wouldn't read too much into, she may have been asleep when you texted, just follow up in a day or two.

Well, that might work, or you might go from the most respectful date to the least. I mean you've got all the elements there to get it done, take her hand while hiking at least once, then afterwards go watch a movie and get your k-close.

I've ran into some situations where I've met up with a girl, had a great date, and then she went on a long vacation (at least a week). I exchanged some messages with them while they were gone, but then we never met up again. Not saying this to discourage you, but rather to point out you may need to keep her interested in you somehow while she is gone.

If you start to get tired tell your own funny stories. Obviously it's great to get her talking about herself but talk about some things you like. And of course, this is a super small sample size, some dates are going to be conversation duds where you don't have any chemistry. Keep trying.

It's hard to tell from your post what type of bar it was, but next time sit at the bar and take a minute to soak in the atmosphere. Drink your drink slowly and deliberately like you are just waiting for someone to show up (who's horribly late). Casually observe your surrounding and note who might be approachable. You're getting too caught up in how you aren't doing what you are supposed to be doing (cold approach). So try doing something else and slip in the approaches as they come up/

Any sort of outdoor exercise club? Running group? Dating apps might be your best bet, but consider that everyone else is in the same boat.

#3 for me. I don't have enough of a sexualized persona for the profile and tbh I'm not sure that I'd get any dates if I tried to mention it early. I instead go to seal the deal in 2-3 dates and take it from there. I'm also in a city where "getting busy with work" is a legit excuse for calling something off.

Here's an idea, if you have nothing you like, try to find out what other people like. Listen and ask questions about their hobbies and passions. Ask them how they got into it, why they like it, and where they plan to go with it. When people talk about stuff they love the energy can be infectious. You are a dad, there are definitely interesting dad stories which will go over well if you meet a mom.

I think you need to be honest with yourself, why are your conversations getting boring? What topics do you get stuck on? There's not much chance of escalating if you aren't having a good time.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
