Dating as a divorced dad with a kid"seeing the result of her parenting style" (which largely mirrors mine) I agree that is the key and finding out in advance of any type of commitment is key. Sounds like you found a good person, which can be rare, kids or no kids, divorced or never married. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/07/26 02:10 PM
Dating as a divorced dad with a kidDunno. I read a post from a single mom who swore off dating single dads because she had to bite her tongue every time he made a parenting mistake, which in her opinion was always a lot when it came to single dads. It’s like “wife 2.0” without being married. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/06/26 02:14 AM
Am I in the right for not wanting my ex wife’s new boyfriend staying at our homeBro, all you have to do is flip the script and imagine how she would react if you wanted your affair partner to spend the night. Just keep that in the front of your mind when confronting her over this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/06/26 12:19 PM
To the divorced men who visited a sex worker, what was the reason you decided to see one and how was the experience?I visited a massage parlor with extras available in Costa Rica, so EVERYTHING was legal if you wanted it. Sure, it's not true desire, but for the touch starved person that I was I really needed it. Did not have intercourse because I don't want to do that with a prostitute but she took care of me. I went back to my AirBnB and slept like a rock and woke up feeling "not stressed", which at that point in my life was a win. Plus she at least acted genuinely nice to me. I'm sure she was a great actres… | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/05/26 01:52 PM
To the divorced men who visited a sex worker, what was the reason you decided to see one and how was the experience? The reality that guys with lower incomes don't have a chance with more attractive women. Unless he's very attractive, then he'll find someone to take care of him or use him as a boy toy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/05/26 01:44 PM
Difference in Women vs Men After DivorceMinus the “All day drug use” paragraph 4 was my experience exactly. I was really lonely at first but I just had to learn who i was again, and learn to like that guy. Kind of like I did when I was 25. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/04/26 10:25 PM
She brought him homeThen document everything like it's an IRS audit and talk to your attorney. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/26 01:38 PM
Did divorce change how you see yourself as a man?More solid in who I am. Was a roller-coaster at first, but that's expected. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/26 09:14 PM
I found my ex wife in sexually explicit promotional materials for her jobOr, maybe she secretly didn’t think these things were all that degrading after all and was not honest with you at the time. You’ll never know but I would say you are much better off, and as for how you’re feeling right now, it’s like they say “this too shall pass”. Get out there and enjoy your life. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/01/26 12:20 AM
Update, 2 years post divorceDid she try to imply it was your fault she cheated? Speaking from my own experience, and that’s when I was officially done with worrying about anything she said. If the day ends in “Y” she’ll come up with a reason to blame me. Move on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/12/25 03:15 AM
Question for divorced men. Why do some of you see an fwb instead of a prostitute for sex and vice versa why do some of you see a prostitute instead of a fwb?My thoughts as well, until I learned that in the right place - extras find you! | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/12/25 04:43 PM
Question for divorced men. Why do some of you see an fwb instead of a prostitute for sex and vice versa why do some of you see a prostitute instead of a fwb?If it’s an “Asian Massage” and not in a fancy part of town chances are they offer extras. Truck stop proximity may help you I.D. a location in rural areas. In my experience it’s been trial and error. Hint: it’s one thing Craig still has on his list. After divorce when i had no energy for emotions I went to a few rub and tugs because with no penetration it’s way safer sexual intercourse with a prostitute, and sometimes just having a woman take care of me like that helped with my stress and anxiet… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/12/25 03:36 PM
First sex post divorceFrom what I’ve read us older guys can actually start to lose some sensitivity down there. I’m in my 50s too and had this happen when wearing a condom (never got my operation) and I’m just not getting enough stimulation. I’ve found a position or two where it’s just tighter and had no problems after that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/11/25 12:45 PM
Ruined itThere's an "r/AskMen" sub that may have been more appropriate for asking men a question. This sub is for men to discuss the "unique challenges facing men during divorce." FWIW I'm not offended or uptight about you posting here, just offering an alternative if it's rocking someone's boat. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/11/25 10:08 PM
Looking for advice for alimony and retirement.I am not sure what state you're in, but you should consult with an attorney. Mine went over how things are divided in a no-fault divorce (our case) in our state, and there's a calculator that the judge will likely follow. They will take her time as a stay at home mom into consideration, and you'll probably have to pay more than you want, but find out what's likely to be mandated before setting an expectation that's too high. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/11/25 08:55 PM
