Kind of my point. I’m divorced, my best friend just recently broke up with his gf and even when he told me he was planning to do it because of very valid reasons, my first thought was is there any way you can still make that work? I work with an older guy that’s divorced and he tells me all the time women are terrible and he’ll never get married again, but then he tells the younger guys that just recently got married he’s happy for them. I’m not saying every guy is like that but definitely on th…

Need a study on how men having male friends that are divorced affects them so we can figure out how to fix it

About 8 months and the same amount of court appearances

I absolutely agree. The newspaper I was required to post it in was her last known address which we had only lived in for 6 months, so we knew no one in the town of only 3,000 people. It was a small section about three inches wide by an inch long. And I told him repeatedly it wasn’t even in the state I knew she was in. He didn’t seem to care and since I wasn’t asking anything from her and no kids involved, it just got it done without anymore drama and I was grateful for it. As an aside, no one in…

Mine was default because she refused to be officially served. She knew what was going on but I didn’t have an address for her to actually be served at so I ended up having to go before the judge several times explaining why until he was finally satisfied that I had actually tried (although he honestly sounded like it was the first time I told him the story every time I told him) and then approved me for service by publication and it was done within two months and two court dates from that. Basic…

If she had moved back into the state after suddenly leaving without me even knowing where she went, and gone to couples counseling with me, I wouldn’t have filed when I did. I spoke to her a week after she left and I told her I would take care of everything for her if she just did those two things, she said she needed space and time and I said I can’t live with that. 6 months later I bit the bullet and filed the papers. I don’t know where we would be now, I still feel like we have irreconcilable…

I grew facial hair. It’s not very good but she hated it and I shaved three times a week at least to keep her happy

I was the one that actually filed, but she was seeing one before that put ideas in her head (like I was tracking my wife through her phone because I was the one paying the phone bill) before she up and left. She continued with it to “work through her childhood trauma” and turned into a man hating feminist and all she ever told me about the advice she got was just bs and coddling. F*** therapists and it’s hard not to feel a lot of hatred and blame them even if you know ultimately it was her choic…

If your marriage is over, her being on an app doesn’t make her any less yours than she already wasnt. Also if it bothers you which is understandable, just keep in mind that’s a sign you are definitely not ready for another relationship. Left swipe and carry on at a high rate of speed sir Alternately, super like her and see the fallout. IANAL

First it was a black picture and first name now just name and just the standard iPhone initial profile picture. She’s still got the different ringtone and vibration even though it makes my heart stop for a second because it’s oh shit what now at least I can mentally prepare before pulling out my phone and seeing what it is

Trust me, no one knows better than me how anything negative I said on text got selectively twisted super bad. I completely understand where you’re coming from. I wish some things I said were as calm and reasonable as the texts we’re talking about right now though. That’s why I think it’s a good example

The thing is it’s actually a good thing, even though she and some people are ripping on him for saying the things he did, it’s actually a really calm and normal conversation and honestly an example. At the very least it’s a snapshot of the unrealistic double standards demanded of men. Perhaps a situation as extreme as this may serve as a heard/depp example to show people how stupid the crazy feminism is and how it backfires. So far his ex is getting decently ratioed and hopefully it continues. A…

“She’s not signing because she wants protection” This exactly. You want a prenup for your protection, she doesn’t want one for hers. I thought naively that way once, thinking who needs a prenup, you’re just setting up for failure later. She was all in agreement! One year later…..

Do you think it’s because they lose empathy seeing people go in and out the hospital, seeing people die, etc? Do they just become cold? Or is a purposeful coldness, so cope with the stress? My stbxs main point of pride was being a night shift nurse in a big city. Even when her 60 hour weeks about ruined our dating relationship and I basically begged her to cut back, she only left because the hospital changed policy due to the covid vax.

Remember she left you. She ended her husband subscription and getting “man help” with things like house alarms ended with that. It doesn’t make it any less lonely, I know. But remember the times the shoe was on the other foot and she wouldn’t support you, like a fathers day card. It doesn’t make it any better but sometimes remembering things like that can remind you why it’s for your best you need to soldier on.

Same here. They all became “toxic” and “wrong” after spending weeks talking about me and then one session talking about something maybe she should do differently

Mine made the choice for me. Took everything but my truck, trailer, guns, and clothes. It’s upsetting sometimes when I think about all the money I’ve lost but in the end money is just money. I’m happy I don’t have all that junk tying me down and reminders of how life used to be

Hey buddy. I’m in a disaster of my own and I’ve literally stood on the edge of a cliff a couple times, been hospitalized for this stuff once too. You’re not alone. I can’t possibly understand how it feels for you to go through this. I do know the feeling of death being your only way out. I don’t know if it will help, but my therapist has told me that I don’t really want to die, I just want the pain to stop. Sometimes I come back to that so I can remember that deep down I really do want to live. …
