I don't like the idea of masculinity as it is usually enforced and expected by women.

That research is very America-centric and does not even seem to be aware of it.

It is so ridiculous how the same "woke" women will squirm and twist to come up with bullshit reasons why bisexual men are somehow off-limits.

I am an academic but not in gender studies specifically. Can you maybe direct me to some of the controversy? It is mainly on Twitter?

My experience is the same. Our father did all that for us.

I think the problem is that women require men to act in an unsustainable way in the beginning. It is not possible to remain a dancing monkey for extended periods of time.

The dating pool for women is great, most of them just cannot see it.

This is a really apt analogy.

As a guy I can tell you that not all women are like that. You are right there are way TOO MANY women who want lopsided friendships, but it is on us men to weed out the bad ones and make friends with the good ones.

Women could work on having more realistic standards and see the men they encounter in real life as fully human.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 12:36 AM
15

In my experience men are much better at dealing with trauma and stress not because they are stronger or something but because they have no other choice. Women can choose to be weak, men don't have that option. This is why we speak of "strong women" - because it is a special qualifier. Men are already required to be strong.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/23 03:14 AM
1

I am not redpill but you need to consider that women are much less likely to get into relationships with men who are disabled (i.e. "weak" or "needy" in their minds) in the first place. It seems to be the other way around for men. Men are much more accepting of partners with disabilities, but men more often will leave their hitherto healthy woman more readily.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 08:09 AM
12

I think he is trying to make a ceteris paribus point. Meaning: all else being equal, a woman will have more options than men.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/23 09:26 AM

Men have friends. The so-called loneliness epidemic is mainly about the lack of romantic options for most men.

Men would relentlessly make fun of such a campaign and ridicule the men it showcases.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/23 02:02 PM

You are right. One difference is that men's ability to make themselves more attractive are very limited.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/23 11:45 AM

Because it is not just some women. The dating preferences of so many women are so restrictive that it negatively affects almost all men.

I am a guy in Europe. I used to live in the US for a bit. In my experience, American women are just way, way more strict, demanding men to uphold very traditional gender roles. As a man in Europe I generally feel I can be more free here, and that women see me more as a human and dont expect to me to be an unyielding rock.

But many women hate men and still have an easy time dating
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/23 10:24 AM
3

Usually men are in the position to escalate every step. It changes and evens out once a solid relationship is established, and men often then reduce the load of effort they had to an equal level. This equal level is sometimes perceived by women as laziness unfortunately.

The issue is: men will still want to sleep with women on birth control despite the side effects. But the very same side effects in men will prove to be a turn off for women then not wanting to sleep with the man on birth control. In my experience almost all women are turned off sexually by oily skin and occasionally acne , mood swings, weight gain , depression , bloating

It's not about going outside, men usually have to initiate most things. Romance usually does not just happen to them, they have to take the first few steps.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/23 11:09 AM
2

For most men it does not work like that because they need to do the first one to three steps in romantic encounters. If they are not looking, nothing happens. Exceptions are very attractive men of course.

Stop the "reversible" myth. It often is not. Women want that to be true because it helps their cause, but it just sucks.

I have never ever heard or read a man saying "In the next breath, I'll hear them say that women are entitled and insufferable for so much as looking at a man who is OBVIOUSLY too good for her according to you." I have also never heard of any such story in any of my social circles in real life or on the internet. That just seems like it is all in your head.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/23 11:32 AM

It is posts like these that show me how little the women here know about the life of men.

Most men are fine. Women just have to unlearn their disdain for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/23 02:55 PM

I think most men here agree that women got dealt the worse hand biologically speaking. I absolutely do not envy female biology, but I do envy parts of the social experience women are privy to.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/23 05:10 PM
1

The way people speak of "entitlement" is just such a culturally American thing that I often have a hard time relating. The word is overused, at least on the internet. That being said, yes, the boyfriend by proxy thing can be real.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/01/23 09:29 AM
1

In real life or on this sub? I dont really see either. Are you American?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/23 06:41 PM
1

I dont. I am open for any woman between like 20 and 40 (I am 36 myself). I would like to have children, but she need not be virginal or anything like that. I think most guys here are like that too from what I read on here.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/01/23 05:58 PM

Typically what males define as "Abuse" from women is just their inability to completely dominate and outright abuse women themselves. Are you ok?

/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/23 05:39 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/23 09:37 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/23 03:31 PM

Men will always want the warmth (emotional and physical) of a woman. Women might be content with just vibrators, but these dystopian scenarios about men "clocking out" are misguided.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/23 12:43 PM

Many mothers are unable to give their children away, unable to accept that they are not connected by an umbilical cord anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/23 11:58 AM

And now imagine being a guy getting rejected for both housing and relationships. Requires you to develop extremely thick skin.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/23 07:19 AM
6

The women are not blamed here, how could they be? Point is that we know about CAUSES for violence such as bullying and rejection. Does not make the rejecters responsible for the the rejectees behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/23 07:17 AM

The need to be desired and wanted is a human need, testosterone does not change that. (You, as a woman, have testosterone too btw.)
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 05:15 PM

I used to volunteer for the homeless; the women were just as vile as the men.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 04:05 PM

Hit the nail on the head. American women have to think like this because any misfortune can put you into peril in the US.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 04:00 PM
1

This is what I meant upthread with women not allowing men to be fully human.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 02:18 PM
3

I think the main reason is that men dont use make up. Make up just seems to be so harsh on the skin.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 02:07 PM
2

You are, unfortunately, very correct. The tragedy is that many men want to integrate female aspects into their being because a full human is always a combination of both. But ironically many men simultaneously penalize men for having female traits, e.g. wanting to be desired, thereby not allowing them to be fully human. (Men do analogous things to women, of course.)
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 02:05 PM
1

I think that this is a very American perspective on male friendships, does not represent my experience at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 01:58 PM
1

They also have an easier time getting into a romantic relationship if they want to, ceteris paribus.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 01:57 PM
3

I am the same as you. As men we are expected to be a source of desire, but not the object of desire. It sucks, but there is not much we can do about it other than accept it. Women will not change for you and me.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 01:56 PM
2

I feel for you, it is terrible to be this way. As an average guy, I also experience this, but I am probably also more equipped due to socialization to deal with a really bleak outlook. Is anything specifically wrong with your face, e.g. are you a burn victim?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 11:28 AM
6

The problem is that to many women even average women look "gorgeous" for some reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 11:14 AM
1

Im a guy and agree most of the stuff about biology is bullshit. But you are incorrect in saying that it is just about ego. For me at least, I do not care about showing off a potential woman because she is young. For me it is just about what I am attracted to. I tend to be attracted who look vivacious (if thats a word) - this can also be a woman in her mid-30s, but it is mostly women who are younger than thirty.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/23 11:13 AM
3

Why do you think it won't happen?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/23 12:30 AM
7

Maybe Iam seeing something wrong, but he was literally agreeing with you, was he not?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/23 06:11 PM
13

The problem is that clothes and fitness are the only things really somewhat under your control. And the main thing is that people (especially women) underestimate how insanely difficult it is to get a truly great, really lean, yet muscularphysique.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/23 05:38 PM
5

It is usually the other way around: As a man, you have to make sure she also feels like "she did her part" even if 100% of the interaction is led by yourself. It sucks, but this is how dating usually works unfortunately.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/23 02:25 PM
4

Why do you glorify women like that?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 02:18 PM

3

Happened to me too a few years ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/22 05:09 PM
2

Ok, but can you give an example of acceptable analogies like that?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 05:39 PM
5

By that reasoning, EVERY analogy would be impermissible on your view, right? Or asked differently: What kind of analogy would you accept here if not food?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 04:12 PM
12

This is why it is an analogy. In order for something to be an analogy, it also must be disanalogous in some respects.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 03:12 PM
3

How much of this is due to your height and how much of it is due to the six pack?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 11:51 PM
2

Being angry at sexually successful men is more of like being angry at people who were born more intelligent or with natural athletic ability or musical talent. It’s pointless. That would be true if social status which is largely determined by the circumstances you are born in was so important in men being attractive to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 10:59 PM
1

Men seem to really need that feeling in long term relationships I honestly dont think thats true, never been for me or my male friends. I think that this need to feel "special" may be projection from the female side.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 10:45 PM
1

But its not just "a little differently", it is like the difference between a pond and an ocean.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 04:37 PM
2

Yeah, but the problem lies exactly in these qualifiers. Many men would love to be found as equally viscerally and directly attractive by women the same way they are drawn to women. The world would be better in my view if it was matched like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 04:24 PM
1

That is fair, but dont you see how it can be frustrating/hurtful for men to realize that the women they adore so much do not feel the same way about them? I think the men here, me included, would just hope to be sexually desired in a reciprocal way.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 04:09 PM
-1

Nope, def broken.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 03:57 PM
1

You really do not like sex, do you?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/22 12:57 PM
2

But this would not resolve in change because the men who enact these changes would simply be overlooked in favour of men who are "traditional". It cannot bring social change in the same way feminism did.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/22 02:18 PM
0

Yes, because this expectation stays long term usually.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/22 01:14 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/22 12:26 PM

I dont really think thats true, at least where I live. The women I see at the gym behave just fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/22 02:38 PM
3

Yep, especially getting an aesthetically pleasing body is so much easier for women. I love working out, but it is sometimes frustrating how much more effort I have to put into training and diet to even get close to the same desirability (body wise) than average cardio bunny.

I have been wondering what your deal it. This comment finally let's me know that you just hate men.

You are probably not a fan of Emanuel Macron then!

This is the most "expat in Berlin" thing I have ever read.

Why is it hypocritical? You cannot really control what you are attracted to, in my view.

Would you think the same goes for women? Or relatedly, could you tolerate straight men being repulsed by women in their 50s?

This comment is truly saddening to me, in many respects.

Wait, do you think 50 year old men are repulsive? Would you say the same about 50 year old women?

I feel for you. You want a sexually fulfilling relationship, as do I, although we have different standards. It is true that I might have never awakened to anal sex had I not seen it in porn. But having "discovered" anal, it has greatly enriched my sex life whenever I can indulge in it. It has deepend my connection to any girl I have ever done it with in a way that no other sex act could. In one sense, I am glad this pandora's box was opened for me, in another sense I am sad because it is difficu…

You keep implying that anal sex is not "normal" which is just not true. Anal sex has always been normal in straight and gay relationships. I dont think you intended it, but framing it as "not normal" might be seen to border homophobia. I do understand your anxiety, I really do. But it also goes the other way: Women may and do require sex acts from their men which bring them no joy. I do not think that women should endure sex they do not like, but I just hope that the number of women who are sexu…

If you do not want to do a certain sex act, that is that. But if having sex a certain way is important to a guy, he is entitled to look for someone who he has a better sex life with. Imagine if you really liked oral but a guy would never go down on you - would that not make you dissatisfied earlier rather than later? For example, I broke up with my last girlfriend because sex with her was very boring. All she ever wanted was having her clit rubbed and missionary sex (always with condoms). Noth…

You are not openly hating on it, but you present it as problematic that it is becoming somewhat more popular through porn. As others have pointed out, there is nothing wrong with anal sex. And since there is nothing wrong with it, it is not a problem that it is promoted by porn in my view.

What the women who argue about the orgasm gap do not understand is: Just because the man orgasms during sex does not mean the sex was good.

What are you talking about? No-one views relationships as more transcational than FDS.

I do agree that there are women like that, many even. But we cannot give up hope to find those who are not like that. I fully understand your frustration because I share it, but I trust there are still good women out there for us bruv.

You just described the worst possible examples. There are women who are not liked that, thankfully. The hard part is finding them because most of them are already in relationships.

Sure, at some point age will catch up to anyone, but I am honestly not worried really worried. I think, however, you would benefit from unlearning your toxic attitude.

Where is this projection coming from? You literally have no way of knowing how either OP used to look compared to now or how I used to look compared to now.

"FDS is simply young women going back to the way their mothers dated, with the updated version being not having to marry." Told ya :)

I am 34 now and my looks have only been improving over time. I will probably get more attractive over the next 10 years as well. It's different for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/21 08:48 AM
1

Yep, this will only help delude some men into thinking they are attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/21 12:28 PM
3

Yeah, men who have these fantasies that they will come out on top and women will come crawling to them are just delusional. The healthy way is to just focus on yourself and just ignore the women who may have wronged you.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/21 09:16 PM
2

Yep, I just said as much. It is more about helping women understand what the situation is like for men because most just cannot relate which is admittedly not their own fault. For example, I cannot help victims in North Korean gulags, but I still emphathize with them, does not mean I have to try to invade the country and free them.

I do not even want to antagonize you. But the reason so many men take issue with this is because humans are inherently sexual beings, and romantically unsuccessful men feel stripped of parts of their humanity because of that. That does not mean you have an obligation to find any given men sexually attractive, this is just meant to demonstrate where many men come from and why they find it terrible being invisible to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/21 12:31 PM
1

Yes, I kinda agree. But would you say that men are allowed to be scared, too, even to a higher degree because they are more likely to be the victim of male violence?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/21 12:03 PM
7

Yeah, I think most guys know you barely see them as human. They simply do not exist for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/21 11:15 AM

There is no "we" here - I have never done harm to a woman, neither have any of my friends. I am on board with you that it is terrible that many men assault women, but there is nothing I can do about it. The same goes for male victims. This is not a dodgeball game of men vs. women.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/21 09:15 AM
10

This is often said in response, but why? It does not really change the fact that mostly men are victimized. Those male victims are not responsible for the deeds of the male perpetrators. It is nto as if they are part of the council of men responsible for each others' actions.

I disagree. The biggest qualms about being a man is the imbalance in dating. The paradox is that the more I were to demand change in this area, the less desirable I would become, and the more imbalanced dating would be for me, resulting in the opposite of what I wanted.

I have never seen anyone even insinuate this, this point just seems to come up a lot in circlejerking threads on r/askwomen or r/TwoXChromosomes. HAve you encountered man actually saying that? I find the other explanations offered here much more thoughtful.
