Why do you need to be "convinced yourself"? You should convince yourself of what there is the most evidence for - in this case about 5% of rape accusations are fake. Don't hunt for statistics to support your point of view - look for statistics so you can better understand the world.

At least in the US, this seems to be a poor take. The vast majority of self-proclaimed feminists here vote Democrat, and the Democrats just happened to be the party which has most recently been promoting legislation to ensure voting rights against Republicans doing their best to restrict them. I find that to be a very myopic view - marriage also provides a number of useful protections in order to make commitments, such as a mechanism for alimony if you sacrifice your job to further your relationship, and a free legal arbitration program to divide assets fairly.

I failed to see why there's an issue with legal repercussions for making strangers feeling safe on the street. It's one thing to ask somebody out on a date, or compliment them. I feel that making lewd remarks directed at an individual is clearly differentiable from these things, and is both obviously immoral and easy to avoid doing if you don't have ill intent.

Eh, it's what he definitely implied. That kind of whataboutism is intended to prop up the status quo rather than support change, which in this case means supporting catcalling as legal. If he intended to suggest that catcalling should be illegal, he would have said something like "I feel that genital shaming should also be illegal in addition to catcalling, because it is similarly damaging".

I'm assuming they reference this line of reseach, mentioned in Vox. It suggests that support for pro-choice propositions is equal among genders, and more women have anti-choice views. However, other studies from Pew and Gallup suggest that it's the other way. Either way, views on abortion seem to have very little to do with gender, and primarily hinge on political and religious identify.

I'd love to. The "boy scouts" does indeed now allow girls to participate in the program, but there are all girl and all boy troops. What this means in practice is that the experience for boys in boy scouts has changed virtually not at all. So why allow girls at all if there is already girl scouts, you might ask? Because girl scouts is a completely different org with programming that is much less focused on outdoor skills and adventure. So this allows for programming in boy scouts to be available…
