If you are in a small town, and there are larger areas not too far away, then maybe cast your dating app net a little farther out. I am not a fan of long-distance relationships either. My now wife and I had a little over two hours drive from each other while dating. We would spend the weekends together and work during the week. It worked out. A two-year courtship 20 years ago, and we are still going strong. I look back at those two years with fond memories. Good luck. It is a tough world for new…

Rian posts regularly on Substack if you are interested in his current thoughts. He hammers on the basics, so his writing there is a good reminder for me. His books Frame and Dread are first rate.

I see you didn't get many replies. I am that older, traditional, conservative guy you mentioned. Maybe you won't be the choice of the top 10% of men, but you can certainly put yourself in play for men just below that. This is my advice to attract a good man (you decide the definition of good): 1) Frequent, enthusiastic, and adventurous sex life....in and out of the bedroom. 2) Find a man you respect and respect him in your actions and words. 3) Show you appreciate him, in actions and words. Brea…

Our finances are joint only in terms of easy transfer in case one of us dies. We keep the money separate and each has our bills we take care of. We married later in life and this has worked well for us. It has never been a problem. I am not advocating this method, but it has worked for us.

My wife is recently retired from corporate life. She had VP level positions in large corporations, several you would know. It took us a while to figure out how best to handle her interactions in her workplace, men in general and me. She was not submissive in the workplace. Respectful, yes. Submissive, no. That worked well for her and her personality. She was successful in her career, mostly in male dominated industries. She is not submissive to men in general, including my family or her family. …

I found my now wife on E-Harmony. They suggest a first in-person meeting in a public place for 30 - 60 minutes. She was living in the Chicago area at the time. We met at the Art Institute (museum)......and the rest is history. Museums, art galleries, etc are great first date/first meeting choices because it keeps you moving together, there are things to comment on and encourage conversation topics and they are typically not expensive (maybe free).

This has been my experience also. My wife has been a high-level corporate VP in male-dominated industries. She channels many "male" attributes at work. She is highly effective and zero submissive at work. She has been called a ball-buster a few times through the years. At work-related events, she still has her work persona, but it is obvious she defers to me....and that I am her man. At home, she has figured out how to flip the switch to her feminine side and she is very much a "traditional" wom…

Sometimes people are not good at saying no and end up doing things not in their best interest. One of the best books on this subject is: https://www.amazon.com/When-Say-No-Feel-Guilty/dp/0553263900/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1413472633&sr=1-1&keywords=when+i+say+no+i+feel+guilty+manuel+smith. I paid for 90 percent plus of the dinner dates when courting my now wife. Occasionally she would say this one is my treat with a big smile and a twinkle in her eye. Who could resist, not me. She had a good paying job, so this was not a financial burden for her. I would suggest using her method. Just say my treat every 10th or so date. 17 years later, she still gives me that smile, twinkle in her eyes and “my treat” every 10th or so date. And I still like that she does that.

I have been banned for suggesting this on other subs, but if your man wants to be incorporating red pill ideas in a LTR, he needs to be posting weekly in r/marriedredpill to understand how that works. You said it correctly, he needs to inspire respect and desire from you. One does not do that by saying "respect me or desire me." From what you are saying, he has it all wrong. He is only hearing part of the message.

If you’re interested in the date and not in your phone they’re not going to mind paying. Advice of the day: It doesn't matter if it is your first date or date number 1000, don't be on your phone during the date.....including the drive there and home. No bigger turn-off.

Too much anytime, unless he asks for your help. Respect that he can figure out how to move and he can figure out his dust allergy and he can get himself fed and find a place to sleep while moving. Let him take the lead of how you will be involved. He sees this as you saying, “Hey knucklehead, I don’t have confidence in your planning, so I am doing it for you.” Thanks mom.

Husband here, 16 years together, 14 married. Some of us learn that our woman doesn't want us to solve her problems unless she specifically asks for our help. As men, we just need to listen and acknowledge, although our nature is to problem solve, even if there is no problem that needs solved. You shouldn't need to do this, but until he figures this out, maybe you can say something like, "This is not a problem I need help with, however, I do find the pictures of this location/venue nice and maybe…

Try to stay close to your kids. They can be a bright spot when the world seems not so bright. You need to find something to be passionate about. I can't answer what that is. I quit booze 3 years ago and porn a little over a year ago. Both changes were positives in my life. YMMV. Hang in there.

Maybe I am wrong thinking that enthusiastic sex initiation from woman side is happening often in some LTRs? - It does happen and you see examples here all the time. You have to decide if that is important to you. I prefer to initiate. You need to figure out what is important to you. You have several choices when she says no: 1) keep pushing forward until you get a hard no or it goes the way you intended. 2) give in to her wishes and still have enthusiastic sex. 3) Say you really wanted to do thi…

I initiate 90%+ of the times. If I want a blowjob, I tell her when and where I want this to take place, including right here, right now. If you want her in lingerie, tell her what to wear or lay it out for her. Your woman should be providing enthusiastic, frequent sex. I am OK initiating because I know I can have good sex whenever I want it, however I want it. All I do is initiate from a place of desire....not validation. Don't wait for her. Husband here, married 14 years, together 16 years, to a woman with a "high-powered career." The person she is at work is highly capable, a great team builder, and does not defer to anyone. As a person who swims in the ocean and Lake Michigan on a regular basis, never get in deep water if you are not comfortable and confident in your abilities. Deep water can kill you very quickly and also pull down people trying to help you. Just say no.

When I was dating my now wife, I would pay for dates 90 percent of the time. I would occasionally joke that she was an expensive date. She would comeback that she was worth it, right? I would agree... We still do this after 16 years together. We always both worked, similar salaries. If this is the only problem, either discuss with him or if he is joking, joke back.

Motivational speaker Jim Rohn famously said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. When it comes to relationships, we are greatly influenced — whether we like it or not — by those closest to us. It affects our way of thinking, our self-esteem, and our decisions. Of course, everyone is their own person, but research has shown that we're more affected by our environment than we think.

For anyone interested in more detail, the quote is from Rollo Tomassi. Getting the quote correct is important to understand the idea. Iron Rule of Tomassi #6 "Women are utterly incapable of loving a man in the way that a man expects to be loved." "Women are incapable of loving men in a way that a man idealizes is possible, in a way he thinks she should be capable of." If interested, one can read more by searching "Iron Rule of Tomassi #6."

You can do a lower weight, higher rep weightlifting program and get good cardio benefits. I find my total volume lifted each session is greater than with 5x5 Stronglifts or similar. You will not see the same strength gains, but you will see your body change/grow similar to 5x5. I did HIIT programs for many years. Women noticed the difference when I focused on lifting weights. I'm doing the same 5x5 program, but going 5 sets x 15 reps for each exercise. Weights are about 50% of what I was doing with 5x5.

I had a slight heart murmur my entire life. Never bothered me or kept me from sports/working out. At my annual physical, my doctor suggested doing an ultrasound to baseline my heart murmur. That ultrasound is what found the aneurysm. There were no symptoms. Pure luck I found I have this condition. If not repaired, the aorta can burst, often due to strain. Think of going for a record deadlift or pushing a car struck in the snow. It is that spike in blood pressure that can cause it to rupture. The…

60+ year old. Working hard on MRP since Sept 2018. Other than no kids at home, everything else is exactly the same as the other guys posting and what you will learn from the sidebar. Read Sidebar, Lift, STFU, Read Sidebar 2nd time.....and keep reading. MRP tools and principles are not simple to understand and takes time and effort to implement. It does work. 12 years with wife....I have another 6 months of work....and even then it never ends. Continuous improvement and learning. No shortcuts to …

I can contribute to "lifting for life" from the view of a 62 year old. How to continue lifting by making adjustments through physical issues. Lifting as continuous improvement and how it factors into MRP for me.

Another vote for Conversation Casanova. Generated a bit of dread when my wife saw me reading it.

Jocko has two books in the warrior kid series. He also has a children's book, "Mikey and the Dragons" that is outstanding. I got it for both my granddaughters.

Iron Rule of Tomassi #4 NEVER under any circumstance live with a woman you aren’t married to or are not planning to marry in within 6 months. Note: If your bf is red pill, he would not consider moving in with you, without a wedding date nailed down.

Iron Rule of Tomassi #5 NEVER allow a woman to be in control of the birth. "I have been guilty of this in the past, quite a few times where i have had the “ahh, fuck it mindset” when it comes to birth control. I havnt always had a condom handy but i do try and always have one close by. I have also had the woman say that she is allergic to latex and that she is on the pill. But lets face it, neither party want to wear a condom so the complete trust lies with what the female says and you want to b…

Maybe. But just think how good that 5% might be...good LTR possibilities. Remember you are the prize.

Pretty basic list. I would expect 12/14 to consider a LTR. Financial responsibility is huge. Passionate.....

I am listening to The Way of the Superior Man currently during my commute. The more we can get on audio, the better. Thanks!!!!

My wife makes more than me and has more stress in her job, plus an hour commute each way. This is the second marriage for both of us, both are financially savvy, accountable and conservative. We have always kept separate accounts. We split the bills and expenses. Savings, investments and retirement are shared goals that we monitor together. We talk about big purchases, but don't worry about the smaller stuff each of us buys. We live a lifestyle well below our income. This won't work for everyone…

Corporate engineering job and own small business. 62 years old, married, kids grown and out of the house. Up at 5AM to workout home gym (lift heavy weights). Then work at home for an hour. 8AM-5PM corporate engineering job. I have automated some of my engineering job so I can spend some of these hours on my business. Staff position, I am responsible for no one and I have very little direct supervision. I am very good at what I do and provide measurable results. Go Home. 5:30PM - 7:30/8:00PM work…

TWOTSM is a great listen for your work commute. Small 3-5 minute chapters. One of my favorites. Kudos on the improvement.

Continuous improvement. The red pill journey is never over. There is no finish line. I must always work to make myself a better man....for myself. Deep conversion can be a benefit. Some of the best companies in the world have been doing continuous improvement for 50+ years. The better they get, they more opportunities they see to improve. I need to continue to drive improvement in my life using Red Pill tools and philosophy.

On the cologne, I took Chuck's recommendation on Beckham's Instinct. I am getting many compliments, including my wife who wonders why I am now wearing cologne everyday. It is a little thing, but seems to up the dread just a bit.

Very similar to you. In great shape from cardio and HIIT with dumbbells. Started 5x5, 8 weeks ago after committing to MRP. Surprised/embarrassed how weak I was for being in good shape. Certainly not strong yet, but I am making great strides. Heavy lifting does change everything. Recommend 5x5.

We should all read it everyday. This is one of the hardest things to do getting started down the MRP path. Great post.

I am not a big scent guy, but have started wearing daily per MRP suggestions and this post. I ordered Beckham's Instinct and have got numerous compliments. My wife loves the smell also and she is maybe feeling a bit of dread that I am wearing it everyday now. All good!
