Now that I think of it, the response rate isn't for every question. It's just the overall participation rate so we don't know how many women or men decided to answer sexual assault questions

Differences in male rape could be due to different definitions of rape too. Yea it's crazy that the rates are so high either way. Ppl here also pointed out that the amt of people who SAY they're raped isn't the amount of people that actually are raped so ig there's that too

Lots of the woke ones do lol. But still, I don't really get why we shouldn't take things at face value with these. Studies with men's right activists also take what men say about "made to pentetrate" at face value which I think is fair

But the survey seems so well designed tho. (Mind you I don't have experience in stats) but it has all the markers of a good survey no? Like high response rate, and the questions weren't vague either. 20% percent of women being raped doesn't automatically mean 20% of men are rapists tho

Yea but this was in the 90s tho. You're correct that woke shit has gone to far. But this was a telephone survey in the 90s that's wayyyyy before this stuff started. When you look at the questionnaire, they're clearly asking women if they're raped

Nah these are the same talking points I find feminists using. You kind of have to start with the assumption most people are decent enough. I think there's a lot of self selection bias in these studies. Lime how in the cdc study women who were raped were more likely to fill out a long survey yk? The average woman or man isn't getting raped by their partner

There's studios saying the exact same thing about men. What I've noticed is a lot of these questionnaires are really vaguely worded. So women would probably understand the questions differently than what was asked. The same way men would. The surveys used in these studies seemed to be poorly devised junk and these questions can be interpreted in many different ways. Well you'd have to think critically about these studies. There's studies that show crazy high numbers of men that would "rape" women too. Odds are the women in the questionnaire interpreted the questions differently than what was asked. These survey questions are often vaguely worded. And it's sociology so you always need to take it with a grain of salt regardless of gender

Odds are both the male ans female rate aren't this high and the questions asked probably have some flaws in them. Like I've seen studies saying 25% of men are rapists lol
