I think the concept of happiness is pretty simple but applies to a lot of life circumstances and arrangements. Your grandfather was happy (it seems) because he challenged himself and saw the reward in it when it helped himself and your family. The circumstances we deal with may change over the years, but it's always fulfilling to do something difficult - but not TOO difficult - and produce value from it.

It's funny to see the incel accusations. There are a few around here I think, but that's not the point of MGTOW. I think it's that as you get older, the important and memorable events occur with decreasing frequency. You're still measuring the passing of time in relation to these events the same as you did when you were younger, though, so it feels like time is going by faster.
