this is why I fucking hate texting. texting allows you to think about what to say, it takes you out of the moment and over thinking of what to say. I like when rsdjulien said something like he texts a girl as a means to set up another date, no fucking about texting for a long time and having it dwindle.

Something RSDtyler said about becoming used to it. Like when you go out, aim to have a good time rather than to approach girls. Talk to anyone and everyone, guys, girls, the lot. Then after many, you'll lose focus on who's attractive and who isn't attractive and find that approaching won't be this foreign thing as you've been talking to strangers all day/night. So you're not doing it specially for that one attractive girl or two. You'll give less fucks and become less analytic about it.
