Step 1: Don’t make it a thing. The demise of many relationships where the woman has more professional success comes from the man’s insecurity. He feels bitter. Begins to resent her. Becomes an asshole to her, cheats, or both. See: Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe, Halle Berry and that one guy she was married to, et al. Step 2: Be on the same page with long-term goals. Kids. Finances. Everything. Have actual conversations about what your future looks like, rath…

Jokes on you, man. While you’re sitting it out being bitter and hating women over what you think will happen (which happens far, far less often than you think) plenty of guys are in happy relationships with faithful women and getting sex regularly.

I think for this to work and everyone to be happy, the husbands need to contribute. It’s not about the money he brings in, it’s about effort. If he is a stay at home dad, great. He’s definitely contributing. If he’s working hard but just doesn’t bring in a large salary (blue collar, manual labor jobs, electrician, mechanic, carpenter, logger, fisherman), great. Definitely contributing. If he’s doing piddly shit and not much of it (part-time dog walker, working on his novel he will publish “somed…

Hospital administrator with an MBA married to an aircraft mechanic with an associates. I make quite a bit more. Married 16 years. Late 30s with teenage kids. All assets jointly owned (no my money or his money just our money, houses, cars, etc.) Happy. Nobody has cheated. Nobody is leaving. He’s wonderful and funny and very sexy. Still have a great sex life. What’s not stable or sustainable about that?

Dirty look plus, “Are you actually suggesting I divorce the man I love and the father of my children to chase money?”

Agreed! There is no “up”. He’s great. I’m happy. We have built a family together. I could give zero shits that he does manual labor while I have a six-figure salaried job. Status-seekers can fuck right off.

I’ve seen it more with status than looks. I’ve gotten shit from “friends” about my husband, who makes less money than me. Saying that now that I’m established in my career I should trade up. Fuck them all. My husband is great. No interest in a “high status” man. Plus, we were equal earners when we got together, and he supported me through grad school. After I got my masters, yeah, of course I made more money than him. So what? I’m supposed to drop him for a “professional equal”? Please. Such bul…

Not accurate. My whole life all of my girlfriends liked and were attracted to very different types of men. I thought guys they found hot were gross and vice versa. Everyone has a type, some people’s types are more narrowly defined than others, and some people fit into many peoples type while others are more of a niche taste.

Late thirties, but I only know of a few that MAY have dead bedrooms. Not expressly stated, and it’s about an even split on who is making it dead between the man and woman. I’ve been married 16 years and still love having sex with my husband. It’s not every day anymore like in the beginning, but it’s still a normal amount. No games or withholding or frigidness. Sex is to be enjoyed, not used as a bargaining chip.

For the second part of the question: no, TRP views on women’s nature is crap. Not everyone has a slut phase. I never did. Most all of my friends have single-digit partner counts, comprised mostly of betas. What is described as universal women’s behavior has been the outlier among all the people I know in real life. Most women want relationships. Most Chads don’t, and they’re usually pretty transparent about it. It makes no sense to go after someone who doesn’t have what you want on their menu.

Nope. Not alpha. He’s 5’9”, has a bit of a gut, bald (by choice, shaved his head because it’s low maintenance), manual labor job, not domineering, fashion is mostly Carhartt, never had any “game” even in the beginning. But I love it. He is exactly my kind of sexy. He’s funny, caring, good husband and father, he compliments my cooking, could be a provider if he had to (but I have a great job so it doesn’t matter), is attentive, shares the remote, and keeps me very happy in the bedroom. All of the…

Not true. I have a masters, husband has no degree. Works a blue-collar job. I have always been drawn to blue-collar, funny men. My “type” I guess. If anything ever happened to my marriage, I’d probably end up with another blue-collar man.

You have presented no information on how much of that sex was casual! You cannot prove a conclusion about casual sex without any information about casual sex. Period.

This provides no data on whether the remaining portions of men or women had sex in relationships, outside relationships, or some of each. It also does not provide any data on why those who did not have sex didn’t have it. Your figures have nothing to do with the arguments you are making.

The fact that all hot guys can get women to fuck them immediately means nothing. Your argument is that ALL women will fuck a hot-enough guy immediately, which you have presented nothing to support.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 10:17 PM
2

But you are missing the point that only a very small portion of women fuck anyone simply to fuck. Most do not fuck anyone, 10/10 or not, just to fuck them.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 10:06 PM

No, the subset of women willing to fuck guys without any commitment may tend to fuck one type of guy. All the rest of the women who would prefer a relationship fuck lots of different types of guys, based on their varying preferences.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 09:59 PM
7

That is comically off-base. How can you possibly assert that any woman who won’t fuck you immediately isn’t sexually attracted to you? Most women want relationships. A small minority want casual sex. This has become a stereotype for a reason. Not screwing someone immediately says much more about their orientation toward relationships than it does about how attractive they find you. There are millions of women who simply don’t have casual sex at all, ever, even when they guy is super hot. If I wa…

50% cheating rate by women??? Most research on the subject shows me cheat more than women, but neither cheat at a rate of 50%. Not even close. Why would you believe something so absurd?

So the non Alphas who are getting laid regularly are doing so because of money? Women are looking for their “cash and prizes”? My husband is 5’9”, has a gut, is a little bit hairy, and makes less money than me. He’s also incredibly hot to me. Been hit on by Alpha types plenty of times during our relationship and was never tempted in the slightest. Don’t know what to tell you.

But it’s not just my personal preferences, which admittedly could be an anomaly if that was the only factor. It’s also a lifetime of conversations with friends, sisters, cousins, coworkers, etc. on what they are looking for in a man. The things many posters here cite as the top criteria are typically way down the list, of mentioned at all. It’s also seeing tons of men who are not Chads hook up with, date, marry, etc. without struggle.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 08:44 PM

Yeah, but that discounts the preferences of all the women who are not into casual sex at all, no matter what qualities the guys have. Not judging anyone who likes casual hookups, but there are plenty of women who probably won’t go home with you the night you meet them, but are still into you and sexually attracted to you. There are tons of women who don’t do casual sex ever, but are still very much attracted to guys, including the ones who think they are missing out.

But the world is literally crawling with millions of “not one of these types” who do in fact have wives or girlfriends. It can’t be that much harder if so many people are able to do it. The vast majority of men are neither “Chads” nor alone. All these regular dudes are pairing off all the time, but somehow that’s framed as a difficult feat and then blamed on women’s pickiness.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 07:18 PM

Haha, what? Are you seriously claiming that ALL the millions of paired-up non-Alpha dudes are being settled for? That ALL their wives/girlfriends would rather be with an Alpha, and are accepting a consolation prize? Like these guys have nothing to offer a woman that she may GENUINELY want and desire? Seriously?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 07:12 PM

So not true! Everyone’s version of “hot” differs, and everyone’s level of importance on wealth, intelligence, and power differs too. I didn’t want that when I was 20 and “hot” and I don’t want that now that I’m in my mid 30s and still decent but obviously not 20 anymore. I’m into funny, blue-collar, dadbod types. Always was. Don’t see that changing. Would never go for the smooth, sophisticated, Alpha type. Does he own a briefcase? I’m DEFINITELY out!

I don’t doubt that some do, but it’s not nearly as universal as this sub often claims. Women are individuals, and are attracted to all types of men. I think what you all describe as a Chad is a turnoff. I’m attracted to actual, human men, not “perfect” wax figures emulating men’s supposedly ideal qualities.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 06:40 PM

Well sure, but nearly every man I know has a girlfriend or a wife and didn’t really have a ton of trouble getting someone to date them. They’re not sitting around fixating on women excluding them because of height or muscles or money.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 06:32 PM

5’8”. He is barely taller than me normally and shorter than me in heels. Don’t care one bit. I’ve never heard of any women except super tall ones (like her height would be the first thing you notice) talk about wanting a really tall man.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 06:29 PM

Then what do you make of the millions of men who don’t fit these criteria who somehow managed to find girlfriends and wives?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/19 06:13 PM

This is based on who they fuck, or at least who they are in long term relationships with so I presume they are regularly fucking.

Most are with what people would call “average guys” who are not ripped, not towering over them, not in a high income or high power job. Your classic Average Joe.

This is way, way too simplistic. Women want “fun” in the sense that they want someone who can make them laugh. This doesn’t mean going out a ton or a super dominant personality, just someone who will joke with them. Funny guys are hot. Ideal man is funny+caring+considerate+has his shit together. Doesn’t need to be hyper masculine, very muscular, very good looking, extra tall, or wealthy. Men think women care about this crap. Most don’t. My husband is middle income, 5’9”, not “male model” looking…

That’s what dating is for. To get to know the person and what they value. Sure, there are some women out there who just want to have a stepping stone to something better, but if that is truly what they value above all else, this will become apparent fairly quickly, before the point of long-term commitment. If you encounter one, see the red flags for what they are and move on to the next. Because these types are few, you are very unlikely to encounter many of them. No sense in being fearful of co…

Nope. Woman here. Not attracted to hyper masculine chiseled dudes. It’s a turnoff. Count one data point for Team Dadbod.

I think all this hypergamy talk is a bit nonsensical and is taking an outlier situation and assuming it to be the rule. People commit to each other all the time. Most of the time, those committed partners are relatively equal in looks/status/money/whatever other criteria you look at. The idea that women are constantly looking to find someone “better” and will take the opportunity if it presents itself, is silly. A few of them, sure. But most just want a good fulfilling relationship with someone …

I’m married. I like being married and wouldn’t change it. Recently began reading this sub and to be honest, it’s kind of wild how many people have such a negative view of women and talk about how much they hate women, then plot to use and discard them. It seems like a self-selecting group, since I’ve almost never encountered someone expressing such views IRL.
