Never thought I’m going to agree with a post on this sub (for whatever reason Reddit thinks it’s relevant for me). The internet, social media, video games, streaming services etc have made it too easy to entertain oneself at home. C’mon, if we had 3 regular channels, Tetris (for games), 10 music records and the retired neighbors to chat (social media, yo) - we would’ve been out of the house in no time (not to mention the times before that), I might be too old, too married, too… with kids to judg…

Most of wives of drug addicts and alcoholics are exactly that.

Why? Just search for dominant neurotic ones - the ones preferring Persecutor role in Karan’s drama triangle. Look it up, seems pretty close to your description of “assertiveness”.

“Lead” is all about domination. Assertiveness = “I go, you decide if you follow or not”. Assertiveness women don’t want to mother anyone but their children.

From the first look - yes. If you’re a jackass from the first look, that’s a much bigger issue.

Being a jackass means being a jackass. That’s it, who cares how a jackass looks really?

If we assume that high body count for women is a taboo, then high body of men means at the very least their homosexuality. I love all these theories that people are trying to put relationships into. LMAO

This is what happens when one tries to summarize some order into chaos. If relationships could have strict user manuals, they would’ve already done so. Every individual unique practice can’t be turned into one-for-all solid theory. The most one can try to do is to beat a theory into masses and hope it becomes true in practice at least for some few.

I don’t understand why either gender would weaponize parenthood tbh. It used to ”take a village to raise a child” after all.

In the Netherlands 50/50 is standard and quite successful. No need for gender war bs.

What’s the narrative about anyway? I only know it as a phrase from the 19th century

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
