I don't think a guy has to change his style exactly but just put in more effort. Wear clean clothes, have a pair of nice shoes for dates. I always check out my dates shoes, if he is wearing crappy old trainers or work boots, that's a flag. Same with over all presentation. The amount of dates I have been on where a guy is just wearing an old t-shirt, unflattering jeans has been too many. Speaking "loudly" goes hand in hand with confidence and not mumbling.
