Lack of emotional support. Most people have majority same sex friends and unfortunately most men aren’t very supportive or don’t know how to comfort someone whose hurting. I’ve had several guys tell me they were jealous of how female friendship is (cuddly, emotionally supportive, etc).

This! And honestly not saying this to be mean but it’ll be a sausage fest anyways, the reality is most women wouldn’t attend a singles group, especially based around video games.

This is really situation dependent. I am a SAHM and have an almost 4 year old I do the vast majority of household chores, child rearing, cooking, etc. I expect my husband to be an active parent when he’s at home and help with bedtime but don’t really expect much help with domestic stuff unless I get really sick in which case he will do whatever I delegate to him gladly. However, when our daughter was a baby she did not sleep longer than 2 hour stretches and exclusively breastfed, I was so sleep …

Love this mindset and it really applies to everything, not just romantic relationships. If you want to get better at socializing whether you’re looking for sex/friendship/professional connections/whatever you have to put yourself out there and yes there’s going to be people that aren’t going to be receptive to you. It’s going to sting, you’re only human but when you have self esteem you learn not to take things so personally, it hard to deal with rejection but also hard to deal with feeling lone…

I’d argue it’s both. Both sexes are “shallow” when it comes to looks, looks are quite literally what makes someone sexually attracted to you initially. But yes, women are socialized from birth to be sweet/pleasant and not upset others and are very sensitive to social cues so we do notice when people aren’t acting “normally”.

Style! I love clothes and men with good or fun style draw my eye, I may not be sexually attracted to them based on their actual looks but will definitely notice their fashion sense and if I have a chance I’ll compliment them on it. Also just presence in general, some people have big personalities, they are radiant, making everyone smile and laugh around them. I used to work in a bar and we had a couple regulars who were just normal looking men but they did well with women and honestly, everyone.…

Here’s the thing, even if a friend did intervene whether she was jealous or genuinely concerned the other person could easily say, “thanks (friend) but I’m actually enjoying talking to him. I’ll catch up with you in a bit.” When I was into going to bars and clubs my friends knew that I’m anxious and would frequently check in on me if I was talking to anyone out of concern, if I wanted an out I’d say bye and leave with my friends but if not I might just say excuse me I just need to go check on my…

It would really depend on the reason. If our relationship had been on the rocks for a while and we had a dead bedroom situation or zero emotional intimacy and they admitted it and gave me a plan of action on how to fix the marriage, yes I would definitely try to work it out but I’d be really hurt. If they just lacked self control and were a chronic cheater, nope. Been there, done that. The only way it’s being forgiven is if they fess up and commit to working though it together with a counsellor …

Probably some of the best advice I received in terms of screening potential partners was look at their Instagram follows, it tells you a lot about a person. Many years ago when tinder just started linking insta to the profile I was talking to 2 guys and they both seemed fantastic. I didn’t want to lead anyone on so I told my friend I was having trouble choosing who I wanted to date, she grabbed my phone and pulled up ig, A followed a bunch of pornstars and x rated content, B followed a lot of DI…

Women definitely do consider how men would treat them as a significant factor in a relationship but actions speak louder than words and explaining how you would treat them often comes across as insincere. What initially attracts pretty much everyone is looks and chemistry, once you’ve spent more time with someone you’ll usually have a good idea of how they treat others and can make a fair assumption of how they’d treat you.

Absolutely not. If gender is a spectrum I fall very firmly on the extreme end of female, I love being a woman, love my girlfriends, have “girly” hobbies and have had mostly great experiences dating men. There are definitely some downsides but I’ve been able to manage the safety aspect by carefully vetting dates and letting people know where I am.

A lot of people, both men and women have insecurities like you’ve described. You’re definitely not alone but red pill can exacerbate it. I used to be very insecure and terrified my partner would leave me but when you’re in a committed relationship with a decent and honest person you’ll be able to put these fears to rest. You’re going to date a few duds more than likely, almost all of us do. But if someone cheats on you, leaves you to chase someone more “high value”, they never loved you in the f…

It would really depend on the situation, but most likely, no. The only way it would be a yes is if he was a good father, had an ex that was nice and ok with me having an active role in the children’s lives, and still had the resources (time and money) to contribute to our life and future family.

If they let themselves be pulled away they are thankful for the intervention lol. I’ve had a friend come up and ask if I was ok when a man started talking to me at a bar and she was ready to say come back to our table if I gave her “the look” but I was having a nice conversation so I said I was fine and that I’d be back in a few mins, she would have said something like our foods almost here or we need to talk and pulled me away if she knew I was uncomfortable. It’s pretty clear to most people wh…

Yeah money sure does help. I grew up poor and witnessed a lot of financial arguments and knew I wanted to have a good career and ideally a husband with a good career. I married the best man who works a decent paying trades job. His job wasn’t my top criteria or anything but not having to live paycheck to paycheck and being able to afford most of our wants definitely makes us happier people.

Definitely agree with this and was guilty of it when I was younger. I remember one of my friends telling me she liked this guy in one of our classes and I immediately went ugh him, he’s like cancer patient skinny and I saw her face drop. I went to shower and came back out and apologized to her and that I shouldn’t have made a comment about his body and that if she’s attracted to him who am I to judge? Women have only recently been able to take care of themselves (having their own bank account, good paying job, ability to attend post secondary) and most know at least one woman who was completely at their husbands mercy because they were dependent which has led women to strive higher than ever to be able to stand on their own 2 feet. Women know that if they want to have any independence or the ability to get out of a bad relationship you need to be educated and work hard.

Abuse is awful and I’ve had 2 male friends who were victims of domestic abuse. However, the campaigns and resources tend to go towards female victims of domestic abuse because it is statistically much more likely that it is physical abuse. I personally know that if I attacked my husband he could subdue me in a second but vice versa I’d probably die even fighting my hardest if he was determined to kill me. I’d like to see more campaigns helping men speak out. In both cases in my personal life I e…

Yes and I’d also argue that people from close knit communities that share traditional values (small towns, churches, clubs, etc) also have an easier time settling down. A tradcon woman is probably already going to be married in their early to mid twenties, you aren’t going to find these women on dating apps because they likely already know several great suitors who have been vetted by their community.

I’m not super old (26) but the thought of ever having to date again terrifies me. In your 30s you’re kind of on a tight timeline to find the right person, make sure you’re compatible by dating for a year or two, and then having children all before you hit your mid thirties and fertility starts to decline. I have some single friends who are my age or a year older and the dating market for the upper twenties to early thirties sucks, everyone has children or comes with significant baggage.

Don’t ask, “are you sure?” Because there really is no polite way to say, “actually no, pay for my meal.” Just say I’m having a great time with you and I’d like to treat you to dinner. Be kind but forward about it and if they say no I’d like to split after saying you’d like to treat them then you can accept it.

It’s pretty common to offer, I always did but I’ll be honest I don’t expect them to take me up on it unless they didn’t like me or the date didn’t go well. Most women nowadays will get out their wallet or offer to split but overwhelmingly we expect you to say don’t worry about it or something positive like, “Dinner’s on me, I’m having a great time with you :)” If you can afford the entire bill and you actually liked the person insist once or twice that you’d like to pay and if they play hardball…

Watch their body language, if they are interested you’ll see all sorts of things like fidgeting (playing with hair, shifting around), they’ll smile and laugh at your jokes, small touches, and probably just go out of their way to be around you if possible. Some people are naturally like this with everyone though so it’s good to kind of watch their behaviour with others to see if they’re just a smiley and touchy person if you really want to play it safe and not assume. Otherwise you can just start…

This really depends on the context but always take it with grace. If you’re having a good time with someone and you get lightly rejected you don’t have to walk away unless either one of you is uncomfortable with the situation, especially if you’re friends. I’ve been out with guy friends/coworkers in the past who tried to flirt or get closer and I’d have to politely turn them down and I always appreciated when they just took it in stride and we just kept on doing whatever it was we were doing. Was she drinking? A lot of people are handsy when even slightly tipsy. You’d also want to look at the circumstances when she was grabbing at you previously, were you in public? It’s common for women to pretend to be dating a friend when they’re out and about and don’t want to be approached. I can’t tell you how many times I went out with my work group in my early twenties and leaned on one of my male coworkers when I was feeling uncomfortable with a stranger. 💯 I actually have friends who are more conservative and Christian and it’s a bit of a test to see if a man starts throwing a fit if there’s no intimacy on date 3. If you actually like the person you’ll probably be on date 3 within 2 weeks or less and that’s still not a lot of time to get to know someone, especially if you’re aiming for a “good girl” that isn’t screwing half the town.

To everyone saying that’s just marriage or it’s inevitable, it’s not. Especially since you don’t even have the outside forces interfering that typically slow down the sex (having kids, age, etc). I’d be seriously concerned if I were in your shoes, it sounds like you’re both young and without commitments and if your sex life is bad now it’s probably going to get worse if you ever decide to marry and/or have children. I’d recommend posting on the dead bedrooms reddit and talking to those people wh…

I used to work in a restaurant and was asked out and it was super awkward because we’re not supposed to fraternize with customers outside of work, there’s only been 2 men over the years I’ve worked there that were flirty and I’d actually like to go out with and it was me who made the suggestion, “X, are you by any chance going to (our local bar) on Friday night, I’m going to be there with a few friends around 10.” But most of the time please don’t straight up ask women out at work or be aggressi…

Yup. I used to live in a small town where everyone knew everyone and word got around fast if you were the type to fuck people over. I met my current best friend (C) when a mutual friend informed me that the guy I was seeing was actually dating C after she saw us leaving a bar together. I called her and apologized saying I didn’t know and we both dropped him and ended up becoming the best of friends. Eventually your actions do catch up with you.

Yeah, this. I really empathize with men because I’m sure being rejected and feeling like they are failing is really hard and too much of it would be soul crushing but holy hell dating a stranger is such a gamble as a woman. I’d consider myself a fairly strong person and I’m 5’8 and look like I could kick ass but the reality is if a 16 yr old skinny teenage boy tried to kick my ass he probably could, I don’t stand a chance against someone bigger than me especially if I’m already in a vulnerable p…

Just from anecdotal evidence I suspect birth control failure rates are a lot higher than studies suggest. I’ve seen a few peoples lives torpedoed by surprise pregnancies (both men and women) and have taken several friends to the sexual health clinic in college and watched them get an antibiotic shot in the bum because of drunken dumbassery. Please be honest with your sexual partner and look after your own sexual health, wishing you all the best.

It could be a great first date but only if they like it. I’d just mention that you love karaoke and if she says oh me too, then go for it. If she’s shy then maybe do a more laid back date and once you’re more comfortable invite her out with friends to a karaoke night. We have a really great karaoke bar down the street from the college I attended a couple years ago and one of the most fun group dates I’ve been on was at that bar, we drank and danced and sang with all of our friends which was wick…

I just want to point out that IUDs aren’t always effective, two of my friends have got pregnant with an IUD in and correctly placed by an OBGYN. The official stats are around 8/1000 but I suspect there’s more that just aren’t reported, other forms of bc are obviously even less effective because of user error. I don’t think she has a game, more likely social anxiety or she’s just super shy and doesn’t know how to act in person. I can talk a big game over text but get nervous in person and need to warm up to people, I’m guessing she’s probably the same way. If you like her it’s worth it to try and hang out a bit more and see if she loosens up with more familiarity.

Looks are extremely important to most people in terms of attraction in general but especially sexual attraction. What you’ve said about meeting women through your social circle and work is how it’s worked since the very beginning. I can’t tell you how many guys I know that tell me they suck at dating but only use OLD or the cold approach which usually requires a person to actually be very attracted to you physically because they know your intention is to sleep with them or date them and they don…

Imo there’s two types of attraction. Instant attraction which usually relies entirely on looks and attraction based on the whole person which requires me to either get to know them as a person first or have a friend vouch for them. When I’m out and about I’d say I find maybe 1-2 guys in the hundred I see attractive enough that I’ll think to myself wow that’s a good looking man. Is it possible to block your frequent sites entirely? Or set aside blocks of time you can use your devices so there’s less temptation there. Otherwise I’d advise having a life, get out of the house. Try going to the gym, find a group on meet ups if you don’t have a good group of friends to go out with, basically do everything you can to stay off the internet for the majority of the day. I definitely think people are quick to deflect and try to assign blame, it’s human nature and often someone’s first reaction. It takes a lot of self reflection to accept personal responsibility when you do something shitty. Most of the time when people cheat there are often underlying problems in the relationship. However, you should never be BLAMED for the cheating because it is 100% on the person that cheated, instead of communicating like a mature adult or ending it they chose to do something…

Yes, I’m sure there’s plenty of people you wouldn’t be attracted to physically and sexually but may like as a person. However, I don’t think that many people can maintain deep opposite sex friendships with regular 1-1 time and lots of contact (texting, calls) without at least one person developing feelings. I’ve had plenty of male friends in my life but they are typically shallow friendships, we hang out in a group, I don’t talk to them on a regular basis, and rarely spend 1-1 time with them, th…

I agree with this. People shouldn’t have to have sex if they don’t want to but there’s very real consequences for letting a key component of your relationship go down the drain. My dad told me, “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, but you need to know that there are consequences for every action and inaction.” I apply that advice to pretty much everything and I grew up more responsible for it, sure I could skip doing projects or homework but then I’d flunk and not be able to go t…

Marriage is meant to be mutually beneficial with two people being able to split finances/domestic work/child rearing. In traditional marriages the man takes care of the financial aspects while the woman does the majority of the domestic labour and child rearing with some help from their spouse and more modern marriages typically split everything up like 50/50 financials and then however they choose to split the rest based on individual strengths, availability, etc. If you’ve chosen a good partne…

I’d definitely turn to my social circle. I have quite a few friends and pretty much everyone in my friend group that has married their partner was introduced to a friend or a friend of a friend. This is the way dating worked for most of human history. I was pretty consistently approached by men in places where you would expect it (parties, bars, mutual friends get together, etc). Usually I don’t mind and to a point you have to expect it because they’re social places, most people weren’t pushy and were very nice. I really dislike being approached by anyone in my day to day life but thankfully it only happened a few times when I was younger and single because I have an insane resting bitch face when I’m rushing around trying to get things done.…

I dated someone who was 6’4 and I’m 5’8 and it was a pain in the neck…literally. Is height an attractive feature? Sure. Most men love a honking set of double d’s but most aren’t going to flat out reject someone because they have smaller breasts, even if their ex could moonlight at hooters. My husband is an inch taller than me and it works well.

I’ll be honest I find everyone completely average middle of the road. Nobody is ugly but nobody stands out either. I’d say most of the women on there would score slightly higher than the men but they also have the advantage of makeup. I wouldn’t consider myself to be a fourth wave feminist but I do like having the ability to work and vote so I suppose I am a feminist. I’m against the draft in general but let’s get real, women are the weaker sex physically and face much more danger than the average man in a war zone. Chances are if you’re a man the worst thing that will happen to you is being killed (which would suck), however a woman being captured would be worse than death because you just know she’s going to be tortured, ra…

This is kind of a depressing take on my part but dating is very similar to job searching. Except for the “average man” you’re essentially in the position of a new graduate in an oversaturated market. It’s easy to fall into the mentality of, “I did everything right, I worked hard, did xyz, etc etc etc, why do I have nothing to show for it?” I think it’s a big reason why so many people are angry at the world because there’s this narrative that if you just do the right things that life will work in…

That was my thought too. Most doctors won’t do an abortion past the end of the first trimester and I don’t blame them, surgical abortion is barbaric imo and I’m sure very distressing for the surgical team. I think women are socialized from a very young age to be as attractive as possible, people will comment on your weight, looks, style, etc from childhood so naturally women tend to take better care of themselves and show off their assets because they’ve been told that their value lies in their looks. Was she drunk at the club? A lot of women are huge flirts with a couple drinks in their system and then the next day they’re back to their usual self and thinking oh boy what did I do last night? It’s possible she was just drinking, having a good time, and then the next day realized she wasn’t actually into you outside of a club environment. She’d respond to your messages if she cared.

I’d just present it as an option if the date goes well. “I’m having a great time, want to get out of here?” If she says yes then mention that you remembered she told you she doesn’t like going too far away from home so you’re cool going there or she can come over for xyz. She’ll probably be charmed that you remembered that little detail. I’m going to be honest though, most women (especially 30 year olds) aren’t going to bring a man back to their house on date one. When I lived alone I wouldn’t e…

I don’t know how anyone handles it 😅I tried online dating once and kept getting mixed up in the talking phase before dates and offending people, oops. Way too hard to juggle more than 1 person at a time but I also have a terrible memory and will forget who told me what.

This ^ My biggest regret is failing to explore and put myself out there in college. I had a long term partner who was an amazing person but I turned down a lot of opportunities to socialize with new friends and even travel because I was so attached. I turned down a gig making $94,000 a year straight out of college because I wanted to be with my partner and it would have required me to move to a different part of the country, a couple months later a friend lined up a job in a foreign country for …

Realize that everyone around you is in the same boat. Even the most put together and confident people often struggle with insecurity and the more bravado, the more they’re struggling on the inside. Once I realized that everyone around me is at least a smidge self conscious and are secretly afraid of something I started to feel a bit better in my skin and realized that I’m completely normal and it’s not just me which helped me get over myself and stop the constant negative self talk, “why am I so…

💯 So many people say to women, “If he likes you, you’ll know.” But the same thing holds true for men. Both sexes are guilty of making a lot of excuses for people because they like them and want to see the best in them but if someone actually likes you they’ll put in the time to send you some engaging texts, call, or ask you to hang out. If you aren’t getting effort in return then drop them, they don’t care for you. It sucks but if you’re using OLD it’s bound to happen because you’re up against a…

I’m in Canada and at all the college events I’ve been to I had to show my student ID to security or if I was visiting friends on another campus they’d let me in if my friend explained I was visiting and was a student at GC. Idk if that’s a thing everywhere but security is usually tight because most college kids are technically underage for drinking so I’d check to make sure they’ll even let you through the door before you go if you aren’t a student. It’s so location dependent but usually any hot…

Ask them out for a 1-1 date. It’ll help you gauge whether they are just being nice/flirty or whether they’re actually interested. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve “niced” my way out of situations with friendly acquaintances because I didn’t want to rock the boat and seem like a frigid bitch. All you can do is shoot your shot, “I’d love to take you out on a date next week, what do you think of going to do x (x being your date idea). I’m free on X or X. Lmk.”

Ever been Black Friday shopping? You’re walking around and going hmm that looks okay, this seems interesting, etc but then you witness a fight break out and you’re instantly curious, why does everyone want to purchase this item, why are people fighting over it? It instantly becomes more appealing because of scarcity. I realize people aren’t objects, this is just an analogy. If something is readily available you’re able to kind of take your time to peruse the selection and really think on it…when…

Only you know what’s best for you but my opinion is that no, LTR in college is a bad idea. From a more practical perspective besides blowing your shot at the most sexed up years of your life, these are formative years and you’re going to be faced with making major decisions (where you’ll go after college, what jobs to apply for/accept, etc), if you’re in a LTR your decisions are going to be clouded by love and you may very well miss out on great opportunities. I met my partner when I was 19 and …

This. Also ask any woman about the most abusive pos they know and then ask them how they came off and I guarantee they’re charming and lovely…at first. My ex is quite literally the worst person I know but came across as charming, genuine, honest, etc at first and once they’ve got you then their true personality emerges. People with dark triad traits do better in life (career, relationships (at first), because they are master manipulators with no morals.

So I do agree that men are generalized more than woman and it’s a very hard bias to overcome because it’s literally drilled into your head since birth to fear men. Here’s the major difference: men are afraid women will laugh at them and reject them, women are afraid men will hurt them. Most of the time a rejection isn’t personal. Going up to any stranger is a gamble and for someone that’s had a bad experience with men it definitely triggers alarms. A guy could come up to me and be charming and g…

Definitely talk about your problems. If they care about you they’ll listen and probably offer you help or a unique insight, you don’t want to be a constant complainer as that’s draining as hell to deal with but communication is the foundation of a good relationship, if you can’t be honest with your partner and be vulnerable at times you’re with the wrong person.

Be careful at work. If you misread and they don’t like that you asked for their number someone may very well report you to management. If she becomes a regular and you guys become friendly there’s a little more leeway but as a general rule, don’t flirt or ask customers for their phone number unless you own the business.

I think the thing is that everyone responds differently. I doubt your friends are intentionally sabotaging you, that line may very well come across funny/flirty to quite a few women but some are going to be turned off by it. I’ve been out with friends before and some guy will come up and chat with us and say something my friend finds charming and funny but I’m put off. Women are people, there are no universal rules despite what PUA try to sell. I’d say the majority of advice you’ll get from wome…

Casually invite her to do something, “Hey X, I had a great time with you last X. I was thinking of going (to do this) on Saturday, I’d love it if you could join me.” I personally do not understand the playing hard to get strategy, if she likes you she’ll be thrilled you want to see her again, if she doesn’t oh well waiting 2-3 days isn’t going to change that. Personally if a man waited more than a day or two to follow up even to say they had a good time and ask me how I am I’d assume he’s not in…

It’s like the old proverb, worrying doesn’t take away tomorrows troubles. It takes away todays peace. ED is a medical condition, it’s something you can’t help and sure it may be a dealbreaker to some women but lucky for you most women aren’t primarily driven by sex and if you’re upfront about it when you’ve known them for a bit I bet most of them would be moved that you’re honest enough and trust them enough to talk about it. Because of your condition one night stands may not be the right approa…

Bingo. I think there’s a big difference between your personality being described as “nice” vs just being a good human being/kind as a base of who you are. I lurk on this subreddit because I think it’s a fascinating look into human behaviour but I’ll add to what you’ve written. My own partner is not someone I would describe as nice, he is but not in the way people often think of nice as you’ve described it (no backbone, doormat, etc). My partner is the type to give the shirt off his back (literal…

I’m around your age and agree with most of this post but it’s really dependent on the demographic you’re shooting for. This is anecdotal but I went to a massive high school and have 500+ people in my graduating class plus the year above and below on social media and there’s only 3 with very curated feeds and 2/3 do it because it’s their job (social media managers) the other just likes to keep a certain aesthetic and enjoys posting and blogging about her life and fashion. I’ll bite. The person you think is disrespectful and a complete asshole probably isn’t that way to her most of the time. That push and pull creates insecurity and if they like you, they’ll chase when you retreat. It’s a fine line though, if you’re too much of an asshole you’ll be out on your ass in a hot second unless you’re insanely attractive or wealthy. Also you’re much more likely to hear about negative experiences because people need to vent, the guy could be the nicest person alive 90% of …

Bring something unique to the table. Like Ok-Practice said if you have a hobby or something you’re passionate about that’s a great start. My ex was super nerdy about computer games and that was part of his unique charm, hell I even played Dungeons and Dragons a few times to try to connect with him and had a good time. Bring the fun, anyone can take her out for coffee or dinner, women want to feel special and most like adventure. Try taking her to do something memorable like visiting an art galle…

I honestly don’t understand it either but I have quite a few friends (women) that have dated guys I cannot figure out for the life of me what they like about them. The answer is always attention, these guys are super charismatic, know how to lay it on thick and make someone feel special, and are typically just fun to be around.

The Thing is one of my all time favourites! It’s not too scary but has jump scares and is just overall a good watch. Btw congrats, this girl sounds amazing. My suggestion is to have some good snacks and drinks on hand for the movie, that always makes it more special. Nothing better than jiffy pop, soda, and some candies to make it a movie date.

Brush up on your listening skills. Nodding is a sign of interest and let’s people know you’re paying attention so that’s a good start but typically you just follow up and when that topic has run dry just pick something else and see if they bite. Part of being a good conversationalist is being genuine and engaged, listen to understand not just respond and this takes practice but when the topic is getting boring you have to know when to switch gears. Let’s say you’re on a date and chatting about w…

As a woman I can confirm everything you’ve just written, and it’s not like anyone is trying to be difficult either I have no idea why I’m like this 😂. The best dates are novel, my personal favourite was when someone went out of their way to plan a super cute date on the fly because I got stuck at work and was having the day from hell, we went ice skating in the square (free activity) and then went to a cute cafe and ordered hot chocolate and a dessert platter to share, that’s so much better (and…

I think the reality is that you may just be looking for something that isn’t readily available personality-wise in most people. I wouldn’t say I have super high standards or anything but I want to spend time with people I genuinely like and click with and for me that’s rare (unfortunately). So you may need to either stop the interaction when it gets boring with a “it was nice talking to you but this isn’t working for me,” or accept that the majority of people aren’t what you’re looking for perso…

I believe “Relationship” isn’t exclusively looking for a relationship, just that they’d be open to it if it seemed right. But to get to that stage you have to date first, so if you’re attracted to each other and match, ask to meet up and see where it goes. I wasn’t looking for a relationship a few years ago when I met my husband, I just wanted to put myself back out there and ended up falling in love 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve got one word for you: novelty. I’m a woman and I don’t even know how I stumbled onto this subreddit but it’s fascinating lol. The rules don’t really apply while on vacation, I may be attracted to fit white guys in my everyday life but the idea of having a whirlwind romance with a foreigner is going to be almost universally appealing to most people. Plus there’s very little expectation in that scenario, you don’t have to worry about what your family and friends will think and there’s a time …

As a woman I’ll give your question a stab. There’s been times in my life where my attraction to somebody shoots way up when I get to know them, one of my ex’s isn’t a conventionally physically attractive guy but he is literally one of the best people I know. We became friends and a year later I realized I wanted to date him because I spent all my time with him anyways and again, amazing dude. I agree that people shouldn’t settle for someone they aren’t attracted to, but what happens when people who aren’t conventionally attractive or have other limiting factors (ex: short, small penis, etc (according to others on this board). But you see a lot of people online and in general that complain about being alone and how they aren’t attractive to women but they’re shooting for people who can objectively do a lot better and they’re looking in the wrong place (like using tinder where the only…

Would you say it’s fair for the other sex to have to try a lot harder because of a trait they can’t help? There’s two sides to every coin. I have a friend who is a lovely successful nurse that wasn’t blessed in the looks department and has been rejected so many times and treated like dirt by men because she wasn’t very self confident. But unfortunately, it is what it is. People can’t help what they’re attracted to.

I agree with you and wouldn’t say it’s their fault they aren’t attracting the same tier of partners as the tall handsome dude but I’d also say it’s idiotic to gripe about it. Most people tend to date within their own ‘class’ (for lack of a better term). I’ve had male acquaintances/friends that would reject women we’d send their way that were similar in looks and otherwise seemed like a good match to chase after some gorgeous girl and then complain when said girl found a partner that is objective…
