A few of mine check up on me.. But all of them are far away. The one's that were close and probably saw it coming before I did, started to check out before i got hit... Well I guess they feel awkward on how to deal with it and don't want to get involved when courts are involved.. It sucks but it is what it is. She had also isolated me from my college friends, finding fault with their wives.. So I was left with little friends in my town anyway.

She might need a post partum depression treatment. Now with all families turning nuclear, the child is a trigger that explodes the bomb.

Strong women who will weather the storm with you are rare.. Nowadays everyone has ADHD... heck they will check the weather report and run before the bad weather hits.. Meanwhile on the other side is an idiot waiting to accept this low life form character.. because he himself is a low life form

California is weird. But imagine you married when u were 32, now ur 48, if u get 14 years of alimony payment u will be 62. Life is already gone..

group activities, team sports, swimming, gym for loneliness.

Sorry. I hope things better for u. But I don't think u should try to make connections with women in this state of mind. You might be better off just burning off some steam in gym, playing sports, go for swimming, start playing team sports or something...

So how do u and your youngest son deal with the uncertainty? Do you wait on her pick up days for her to call to pickup? Or you call her up and find out she is not going to come and then your son and you have to mentally reset what you will do that day together?

life is peaceful as long as u don't have kids with her.. then she gets tools to emotionally blackmail you thru them.. goal is to make u feel miserable somehow.. and law gives full power to a woman with kids to abuse it

Does dating depend on having a motorcycle? I think dating should be okay.

What if she is a bad mom? That's when I'd say he is screwed. Because best outcome for kids would be to be with him then and she pays child support, but she won't, if past behavior is any indicator.

Right cause sex was also for her pleasure.. The "me and my needs" kind will get sexual pleasure from you as long as you are considered valuable in eyes of her girlfriends. You are nothing but trophy husband.. and then she will rearrange her social circle if she finds another trophy... fitting it with friends who approve and are likely to be in same boat.. Once that new life has been put in place, she will discard the old trophy that is now catching dust. Social media has accelerated this behavio…

Yeah its stupidity.. we pay the taxes at higher income tax rate, the company demands more work for that salary and she gets to keep the support money tax free.

It was arranged marriage.. It sucked.. I always felt I was walking on eggshells around her. But instead of quickly divorcing, I kept trying to fix things hoping it would make her happy.. But I just ended up getting isolated from people who cared about me. When I finally filed for divorce, I was in a different country, alone, taking care of our child almost full time, while she wanted to explore her options. Even our child feels no connection to her, yet she wants to pin both of us down, using cu…

Anyone who is hitting on a married person is just looking for short term pleasure, they are always going to be trash.. Nobody with any moral spine would ever consider dating a married person and destroy a family, no matter how much of an attraction one feels towards the other person.. The consequences are way too obvious to take that step. Yet they do.. so they are just trashy people who will just fail miserably when the tides turn against them.

Its annoying.. this is just another example of self serving behavior.. trying to take advantage of the empathetic person in the relationship, now that he is done experimenting or realizing that new lifestyle he was chasing is unsustainable.. he wants to come back.. where the fuck was mourning the marriage when he was sleeping with other women..?

yes.. i suggest u retire first.. re-adjust ur lifestyle for 3 years to align to retirement mode.. then file for divorce.. otherwise judges will turned u into slave for her for rest of ur life. you have 2M dollar a year income.. dude don't file for divorce.. tech incomes are fickle.. but law will set alimony based on ur recent income.. u will be forced to earn that much by law.. which is whole lot different than earning it because of passion... u need to reduce ur income for at least 3 years befo…

Put money in your kids 529 plan for their college. It will get removed from the asset split in some states. And your wife probably won't feel bad that ur kids college is taken care of

Classic narcissitic abuser... So she killed all the attraction first and now taunts u for not feeling sexually attracted to her by making up wild reasons.. She will come up with anything but not accept that she is no longer attractive to u because she has abused u for so long that u don't find that kind of attraction in her anymore.. She might still be getting that from other men outside, as they have not experienced this side of hers yet... This irritates her ego and she will put u down even mo…

I think biggest problem is to force kids to split home and then trying to balance single parenting with attempts to bring a new person into ur life.. don't give a fuck about society and weird friends that vanish

Birds of a feather flock together.. divorce is inductive.. ur wife's friends get divorced they throw their "great" life at her making her feel she is missing out.. then she also FOMO(s) into the gang.. this is what is really happening and getting accelerated by social media. Think how many likes i.e. validation they are getting from other men.. its one man versus many men all the time now.. that constant need for validation will blow up the marriage.

yep.. same story.. she is empowered.. the child is with me 5 days a week.. the lawyer was worried that i am asking for too much by proposing 5/2 plan and the ex just agreed to it.. the child stays with me 6/1 and sometimes its 7/0.. she wants to lead her best life.. she also abandoned her old friends and got influenced by a new much younger bunch while she as at college.

Don't take her affair as a report card on your personality and capabilities. Its mostly a reflection on the situation of your long distance relationship and her inability to deal with intermittent loneliness and separation that comes with what she signed up for when she married you. If you don't have kids the divorce should go smoothly. You will come out of this strong and meet someone who will be better aligned to support you in the long run. Good luck

It is.. in a divorce there are two parties - one is prepared and the other is surprised. Usually the one who is prepared is the one who stepped out of the marriage, had the extra marital affair and carefully planned his/her exit to be with the new partner. The surprised one is left to deal with the consequences. The partner who plans ahead can game the legal system, which was intended to protect the surprised one and the children. Since most states are no fault states now, there is no benefit of…

Courts like slavery.. they don't know jack shit about corporate jobs. The extra pay u get in some jobs come with the higher risk of losing jobs. Courts act like that is non-existent reality of job market. If a someone is planning a divorce, courts are clear on this.. reduce ur salary 3 years before filing.. burn thru ur savings so assets are reduced.. then file for divorce so there is not much left to divide and child support bean counters compute low support.. then avoid taking W-2 jobs.. inste…

You are doing the right thing.. in the middle of a divorce, forcing the kids to switch schools is double whammy for them. They will immediately lose the friend network they have.. Your ex is being greedy and the legal system inspite of what they claim does not care about your kids.. only you know your kids and whats best for them.

Let us know how it goes.. in the same boat.. 17 years, she spend 15 years trying different career options, living apart for last 5 years, I keep the child for 5 days a week, gave up career options to raise her while she was off pursuing degrees.. yet she is lining up in court for support because the lawers and everyone just assumes.. mother must have made sacrifices to boost husband's career.

I wonder if its different for women.. For men its mostly like what you said.. Even your closest friends don't want to listen to your side of story.. I think men tend to go neutral when it comes to judging others and as a man u would seek out only close male friends to share what you are going thru.. but all u get is man up buddy.. lol. Or hey optics are not looking good for you if you keep talking about ur ex in front of my wife... (cause his wife was friends with your ex.. ).. So either men ten…

She was coached by her lawyers.. this is idiotic family court system that counts overnights as parenting time for child support calculations. You can spend the entire day with ur kids taking them out to zoo, teaching them new skills.. but what counts is overnight stay according to courts.. a bunch of idiots

Not really true.. if the woman is having an affair, she has all the focus on her new man.. This whole idea of women has a focus on kids and men don't is bullshit. The person who is having the affair at the time of divorce, is not focused on kids, it does not matter whether its man or woman.

She sounds like a controlling narcissist.. She would have kids with u and switch on the harassment again. She is acting nice only because u have divorce case now.. With 1.5 years of marriage she does not have much control over u in divorce proceedings.. So the ball is in your court.. if you wait longer have kids, she starts calling the shots.. GTFO now

Yes cheating.. maybe she cheated before.. but this time she is assured she can monkey branch successfully as the other guy is convincing her to leave and she is cooking up bullshit on advice of the other guy to extract as much money she can for their happily ever after.. The other guy is a 100% leech.

Clinical diagnosis is rare. Most of the time narcissist word is thrown around by arm chair psychologists. And the word has just become something disgruntled people use for name calling.

Yes... Mine is going thru daily ups and down. We have a kid so i guess it probably forces us to be nice to each other. But I also get a strange feeling that she wants to share parenting time just cause she can get her free time for herself. If I try to give her all parenting time I am sure she will panic or ask for humongous child support so she can hire baby sitters for her freedom. And she will not give up entire parenting time to me because then I might ask her for child support...

Similar situation as yours.. i confronted, but mine just turned around and divorced instead of admitting to it and made it seem like i am unreasonably insecure.... We have kids so its hard now. Also as someone said below.. happiness comes from within.. people who need another person as a crutch to feel better are ticking time bombs.. I now realize my gut feeling in the early days were right..
