I wish I could say we were happy but we weren’t, not as we were. We both should have communicated. It annoys me to think that she would rather trash the whole thing than try to fix anything. I totally feel this rant

Yeah, you’re where she was already. She had probably been dreading telling you and is ready for her new life. It probably won’t last. While your working on improving, she’ll keep her same problems and bring them to the next guy. Good luck getting through it.

That sounds like some pretty rough anxiety. I’m sorry that your mind is stressing you out. Focus on what you can control. Good luck.

I’m going through this now. I don’t get second dates but I did hang out with someone who went in with a short term mindset which was rad until she had to leave. Good luck!

Can your kid decide since they’re 18?

My ex doesn’t think it’s a good idea for me to spend any more time with “her” kids but loves what a great dad I am to our son. I hope the kids know that I love them and will be a sane adult if they need one.

This post resonates so hard. I feel so split brained between wanting things to work out for us to reconcile and realizing that I’m objectively better without her. I’m glad I’m not alone.

I’m 40. There is no way that life is over for me, and it’s definitely not over for you. You have your whole life ahead of you and you can make this pain into something new. Stop kicking yourself, you got this.

I’m on them, in a small town, with kids, and I’m going on dates. Just getting reps in to practice until I meet someone I want to spend more time with. Hinge has been pretty good, my ego is getting healed a bit.

I just went to a concert midweek because it’s not my custody time and I can do what pleases me.

Vent it out but keep on going. Yes, it sucks. Do what you can to keep moving forward for you. Progress is progress.

I’m in a similar state. All you can control is your actions, so you have to prioritize yourself and your health. Good luck!

I feel like garbage today but I got to spend time with the kids. I get the opportunity to make new memories with them and be grateful things aren’t worse. Now that they’re at their mother’s house, it’s quiet and weird but this will pass.

Healing isn’t linear. You just start stringing together moments that are good and progressively making them longer between rumination, in my experience. It does get better/easier. Good luck!

Sometimes I have to focus on far future things like my son growing up without me. Sometimes it’s just what I have to do the next day. Take it a day at a time. String your wins together until you’re climbing out of it. Good luck.

It’s a waste of energy to regret something that I can’t change and I have my wonderful kids as a result of everything that has happened. I realize that I’m better off than lots of guys here.

I feel the same today but I remember how lucky I am. I hope you’re finding the thing that makes it a little easier.

I find it unlikely that I’ll ever get married a second time but I don’t regret the decision to have been married.

I’m glad you found a reason to not commit suicide. Find more. You can do this, it’s hard, but you got this.

Dude. That’s so fresh and rough. I’m sorry. I’m 10 months since I found out about my stbx not wanting to be in a marriage with me and I remember what 1 month felt like. It hurt less in 3 months, and even less in 6, and it still hurts but not as much. Things can get better. It’s time and choices that change perception. You’re, unfortunately, at the start of something new that you didn’t ask for. I hope the best for you.

That sucks man. Something that has been helping me, is discovering networks in people I hadn’t expected. It’s hard though

She came back to the house in 6 days, and I was able to pick two of them up a few days into the ordeal. I don’t consider what she did as kidnapping

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
