You could definitely go in for a kiss sometime when you're with her. Just make strong eye contact, wait for a lull in conversation (or make one), and lean in a little bit. Chances are she'll return it, and the rest is natural. Don't overthink things at all, just go on instinct and natural feeling.

You find some interesting things to do, and do them so that when the question comes around you can tell the truth and not seem boring.

Not OP but that seems to be my problem. Thanks!

You're just a fountain of wisdom, aren't you? After reading this comment and the one above, I'm feeling like I've identified my problem as just overthinking it all and getting too worked up about it in my mind. Great advice here, thanks!

Started reading, got to number 6, immediately sat up straighter with better posture. Gotta try this out sometime, especially just the first one haha. Thanks for the advice, great simple post.

Movies aren't a great first date. I had an art teacher once who explained how taking a girl to an art museum is perfect. It's all about first impressions on that first date. Do you want to be remembered as that lame guy who took her to the crowded and dark movie theater where you say in silence? No. Be the classy guy who takes her to an art museum, who has a good time talking with her, and at the same time try to understand her by asking her what she thinks of the art. Tell her your thoughts, be…

Awesome dude, that takes balls and is say it paid off. Keep expanding that comfort zone and you'll be doing great.

Find some clubs or organizations that you want to do. Don't worry too much about what people will think of those clubs, just have fun being yourself, and you'll make loads of friends that share your interests.

The title says something along the lines of "so you know the friendzone?" I took four years of Spanish but I'm a bit rusty and didn't read the body of the post but it looks kinda like advice about the friendzone, just a guess.

Nice article, thanks for sharing. As a guy who's only ever come close to getting a gf and never really been too great with girls, I always seem to have those nagging bad thoughts in my mind. They sit in the back of my mind and tell me that I can't do it. But after reading this I realize that I just need to push myself and fucking do it, make my success happen and not let those thoughts get to me.

Your high school probably has some form of homecoming or other dance, go to that. Even if you don't have a date, go with a bunch of friends, and just have fun. You'll see chicks there, some of them will be single, and if they see you having a blast and being confident they may take an interest.

Conversation threading. Pick up on topics that she says within what she's saying, and then tell a story or opinion you have that relates to that, just let it build itself.

Awesome job, I'm inspired! I really gotta start pushing my comfort zone more, and I can see that "mirror meditation" thing working out pretty well.

It helps a lot of people, me being one of them. The way I see it - sitting around fapping all the time isn't gonna help you get girls, and it isn't very attractive to list masturbation as a hobby. For me, it's a lot easier to be more present and in the moment when I'm not constantly thinking about porn or masturbation. Also, it sorta forces me more to approach girls rather than sit at home with the infinite amount of girls I could fap to, it makes me want to go out.

I can second the suggestion of /r/nofap (I know, username checks out and all that). I used to be extremely socially awkward before, and since starting nofap I've been a lot more open and feel more comfortable around girls. Still haven't had much success because I haven't been trying too hard, but I'm feeling a million times better than before I started.

Not bad, I may have to try this sometime. I've always struggled to cold approach, like I just get stuck thinkin "what will I say" even though I know that I need to just dive in. I'll definitely try this out.

Don't let your dreams be dreams, I guess. I definitely need to just man up and approach more, thanks for the clear advice.

Good job dude! Any tips on just approaching? I've been wanting to get into cold approaching a bit more but I have no idea how to do it since I've never done it before. Like, what do I say so that I'm not left standing there awkwardly?

Awesome dude! I've always tried to adopt that mindset: focus on yourself first and give other people someone who they can't resist to love. Keep it up, and good job!

Playing an instrument is an awesome hobby. It's fun, impressive, relaxing, and can help improv skills if you work on them a lot (which I would recommend). Guitar and bass are both relatively cheap and easy to pick up, and there's tons of lessons online and mentors in real life for them. Drums and woodwind/brass instruments are a bit more expensive and harder to find lessons/instructors for, but they're pretty awesome if you get good at them. If you do pick up an instrument, make sure it's one th…

You've said in another comment here that your school doesn't offer any club type activities and you don't have any real hobbies. However, I did see you mention a gym. Go there, talk to people, because that's something that you do. Take gym seriously, and you'll get some good results that will make girls more attracted to you. Guys will respect you more too if you're not just that one scrawny kid. So for now, focus on your time at the gym and making the very best of it, especially socializing wit…

I'm pretty new to seddit, and I used to be that one really awkward and quiet sits-in-the-back-of-the-class kid who just didn't talk much to anyone at all, and now I'm wanting to get out there. I don't think there are too many guys my age (17) who know what they're doing, I've seen way too many dudes make terrible moves on girls. I'm gonna learn up, go out there, and ROCK THAT SHIT. I can see a few people here saying that your post isn't too helpful or that it doesn't contribute much, but it's fu…

Good job dude! I'm 17 as well, but I have yet to have a first kiss. I'll get there one day, and your post is motivating me to put myself out there more to get it.

There needs to be a balance. You can't go full PUA and be an outcast like you said, but you also don't wanna be that guy who goes through high school with no social skills

I would say that it's a bit ridiculous for kids that are 14 and 15 to be here looking to become PUAs that early, but it isn't a bad idea for them to at least read a little bit on how to be more social. I know when I was that age I was really awkward and kinda antisocial, and reading some of the things here has really helped me develop more socially. Kids should be themselves, but not be afraid to look for advice on how to be social. Some kids just straight up have trouble socializing with people…

As others have said, the gym will help if you use it. I would recommend checking out /r/malefashionadvice if you haven't already, it's helped me gain a ton of confidence in the way I dress, "every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man" -ZZ Top. Both gym and fashion will help your physical appearance, but you need to be an interesting person, not just someone who's good looking. Keep reading around this sub to help your confidence, there's tons of good advice. I read a comment you made in here s…

Thank you. I can't believe I'm starting to get mad at myself for not being a smooth-talker, when I'm not even approaching in the first place. I gotta do this more often, it seems.

I'm not saying that every encounter has to be one in which you start a relationship, lots of guys probably look for "just friends" as much as they do the former. A happy balance of both sides is the best option, in my opinion.

It's not bad if you just wanna be friends, but for all the people here who try to pick up girls and get in relationships, it's far from ideal.

Yeah I guess it would be a little stupid. But if the initial pickup line works, then I won't need it

Would the first two points work as a good approach to some girl I don't know? I feel like it may, but then again it may come off as a little creepy-ish.

Fake it till you make it can work here. Constantly be saying "I got this" to yourself whenever you feel doubt. Get that feeling you get when you look someone in the eyes and say "I got this" with a smirk and a nod. Find things you enjoy doing, and get good at them, and then sit down and look at your accomplishments. It's gonna take some time, definitely not an overnight thing, but it will be 100% worth it

Read this post that I found on here some time ago, huge confidence boost and inspiration. Search through the sidebar (and when I say search I mean scour that shit for a long time), and just never give up if you get rejected. Reading and practice are all it takes.
