In my experience it’s never happened. They all always tried it on🙄That’s why I decided if I ever had male friends again, he/they would have to be someone who’s my exact type and/or if that’s not the case, would have to bring something to the table in compensation. That way I won’t be grossed out or annoyed and in a super awkward position when he inevitably puts the moves on me, as I’d already find him physically attractive or has other desirable traits and qualities to offer in lieu of that. It’…

When I declined, he didn’t get insulted or nasty but was sort of whiny saying something about doing the best he can (whatever that meant) and complimented me on my looks (if he thought flattering me would convince me, he was wrong). He was overall pretty chill about it. But keep in mind when I turned him down, I put it in terms of disliking how low effort/lazy the whole thing was, which indeed was a huge turn off to me but perhaps had I also included how potentially dangerous it was as the prima…

Some of these guys are either absolutely clueless, or being blatantly predatory and hoping to shame and guilt a woman into going along with their “plans”. The one that took the cake for all time for me was when I was a visitor abroad. A man I had been chatting with online wanted me to meet him the 1st time not only at his home, but also wanted us to do recreational drugs (an assumption on his part, as I never did them and had no interest). As if I was going to some guys home whom I’d never met i…

I can only speak for myself but when I’d done this in the past with someone I was casually involved with, FWB and whatnot, we were already either intimate or knew we definitely wanted to be. Tho I never sent any with my face and as I have no identifying marks, tats, etc it’s not like it could’ve been used against me for nefarious purposes. At any rate, it was only a few/several pics total and I’d use the same ones as my body hadn’t changed (drastic weight gain/loss). However, with my husband it’…

That’s largely been my experience too, contrary to the supposed “hot douchebag” stereotype. It’s almost ALWAYS the uggos that are not only ugly on the outside but inside as well. Cheap, entitled, selfish. Huge chip on their shoulders attitude and prolly suffer from compensatory narcissism, hence the delusion and inexplicably huge egos as a self-protective, coping mechanism thing.

I dumped my ex-bf cause of this. Keep in mind I’m not some gold digger cause if I had been, I certainly wouldn’t have given him the time of day and would’ve run like hell in the other direction. He was 42 years old but had nothing to show for it—had a decades long menial job as a courier (a man I was involved with quipped “that’s a kid’s job” when I told him), no car, lived in a crummy place in a lousy out of the way neighborhood, was broke and shortly became unemployed and remained so when we p…

Exactly. Prolly cause they’re either too afraid of rejection and/or figure such a woman is already taken (not that that stops some creeps tho). Myself, I usually prefer the man to just make an approach and promptly once I notice his attention on me...even tho I may not have been interested and certainly am not now as I have a SO, but I always found it sooo creepy and unnerving for them to leer and gape and lurk about me. It comes off as so predatory and sinister, like up to no good.

So true regarding running far, FAR away from man-child men. My ex (bf thankfully, not husband) was 42 at the time, broke/no savings, unemployed from a lifelong menial job suited for a teen/college kid (obviously never having had the drive/ambition to further himself professionally), a couch potato glued to the tv. Even tho he was a basically decent person, his laziness and utter lack of ability to protect and provide in any way made me lose all respect, faith, love/affection and attraction for h…

My situation was/is atypical; to give some background, due to home life turmoil and chronic health woes, my romantic/sex-life started way later than most. So my path and journey was abnormal and greatly delayed. But it wasn't a case of overvaluing myself, I was well aware of my shortcomings in severely lacking social skills (hence much difficulty connecting with most people) and coming off as an unlikable, odd autist. The only thing that got compliments was my appearance, but I lacked any confid…

I had the same issue as you, as I'm sure many women do, unfortunately. Numerous men who were (and still are) sniffing around, but who I did not want--AT ALL. And after being around the block one too many times with unsuitable, unsatisfactory and/or subpar mediocre men, when I decided I would only be with a man again if he was my exact type, physically and personality, that made it even a more tall order! A lot of flakes, fakes, timewasters, cheap, lazy, inattentive, etc I finally, at the ripe ag…

This is one of those things where (some) men think and perhaps truly believe they want a direct woman who doesn't make them go through the "chase", but their loss of interest/attraction shows that not to be the case at all. Certain things remain timeless and hardwired, and probably behavior contrary to that is subconsciously picked up on as abnormal and unnatural to this day--hence, a turn off. I too have experienced being clearly receptive to men who were obviously attracted to me, and who like…

Wonderful and accurate comment. It happened to me a few times before I wised up for good and never made that mistake again, but the worst was the lying scumbag I lost my virginity to. Said he wouldn't change but immediately after he got it, he went from being an attentive gentleman to a cold prick. Couldn't even be bothered to keep up the act for a bit, but then again he got what he wanted and had no shame, thus wasn't embarrassed about his disgraceful conduct. And while it's not a sure fire gua…

Indeed; and an additional factor that comes into play with this sort of scenario is the man knows if he were to be a scoundrel, word will get around to his social circle. As opposed to when there's no shared social connections, and thus no/less worry about repercussions from behaving badly.

Indeed, all the times I settled due to being with the person for entirely wrong reasons (cause I was severely lonely), it was always extremely short-lived. Since I wasn't (physically) attracted in the slightest and felt, however arrogantly, that they were lucky I was even with them, and they had no to little "margin for error" to mess up the way someone I actually was attracted to/my type, would have. My tolerance level was nonexistent to very low, and I felt contempt for them. So I decided to s…

I'm not worried about it at all yet, tho I probably will be once my face and/or figure noticeably goes. Not as concerned with the latter but as for the former, I plan to get cosmetic procedures/facelift. I have a wonderful SO who adores me, but I am vain and care about my appearance and also want to remain attractive for as long as I can not only for myself but for him. He is fine with this and that I'm honest about it, esp as he himself also takes an interest in his appearance too. The only thi…

Only from my own personal experience and it was with a then-boyfriend, not a husband, but frankly, I couldn't help but to find it gross and disrespectful. Especially as I remained fit as the day we met, and he let himself go to where he literally looked heavily pregnant with multiple babies! So the fact that he didn't even bother to be at least passably fit anymore was a big turnoff and passion killer. And it also indicated selfishness that he didn't care about my pleasure and desire, that his h…
