So a little rule that I've learned to live by... Ask yourself the question, "If this situation was happening with someone I am not sleeping with (or have slept with) would it still be okay?". Use this against yourself also. If in some situation you are angry about something or something like that, ask the question. Imo, it's a question that both protects the person, as well as protecting them from themselves.

Yeaaa. I don't think I noticed anything like that in Europe. Always felt like gyms were a lot smaller there and had less services. Here we have a lot of "corporate" gyms that can be huge. Some of them even have nutrition stores and restaurants in them. My old gym was pretty premium, I'd call it luxury even, and it had a cafe, nutrition store, two pools, group areas, an integrated crossfit gym, both a steam room and sauna, a spa that did massage and facials and stuff, and a whole tanning salon bu…

Nope, United States. Didn't used to be common, but it is now.

Yea I wasn't the smartest lifter when I first started.. I found out the hard way that not building your muscles evenly and ending up with tendon/ligament injuries really, reaaaally, sucks, lol.

So I know everyone is different, so it might not help you, but going to the gym is by far the most beneficial thing I do for my mental health. I'm a combat vet, and just years of rapid deployments and extremely high stress situations has left me with completely uncontrollable levels of anxiety. My "fight or flight" system is essentially locked in maximum mode 24/7, to the point where I have to periodically get a numbing agent injected into my neck to temporarily paralyze the highway carrying str…

I'll add onto your post to not just pay attention to technique, but not outrun yourself. Major muscles grow way faster than supplementary muscles, so just because you can push the heavy weight doesn't mean you're actually ready to. Nice steady progression. In the end, you'll make more gains taking it slow than having to take weeklong breaks frequently due to even minor injuries. Also, this is even moreso true starting the second you turn 30... And thank you for your input from a female standpoin…

Yea, my gym is $20 a month and has free childcare. The childcare alone makes it worth the price... (I have three kids)

I'll add: Preworkout, BCAAs (nothing special, just some cheap shit), and a good multivitamin. Depending on goals and current weight, mass gainer can be an alternative to straight protein and actually cheap for what you get. I just use a half serving mixed with 1% milk alongside a small dinner after the gym, because having a huge meal after deadlift day makes me sick...

It really depends on the organization. I know in the Army, if a female harrasses a male, they will destroy her just like they would if the situation were reversed, their is no gender bias anymore. I've heard of quite a few situations like this in other organizations too. I know not all countries and organizations are the same, but if you work for a large organization in the United States HR is going to take harrasent cases seriously. I think it's more that many men still think that "I'm a guy, t…

Don't need to flip the script, it's harassment right now.

I love situations that you can use the word brutal. that word has so much strength behind it.

Well in my situation she wasn't completely out of the picture, just I was heavily in the picture and played more of a part than her. I didn't even want her cut out, didn't even care if she got the info, I just wanted the info also. I wouldn't have cared if it was even a group text thing, I seriously just wanted SOMETHING, but they just completely refused. They would always just give a response like "oh, yea, we just figured she'd pass on the info". Great f***ing assumption.

I don't know why it's so hard to comprehend that some moms are just POSs. Like I acknowledge that 9 out of 10 times, yes the mom is probably going to be the POC because of xyz, but why is it so hard to comprehend in today's society that there are situations in which the mom is not around, and for very serious reasons. Also, I hate that automatic "possible abuse" mindset. My new wife is pregnant and I couldn't even accompany her to a lot of the appointments because they insist on grilling her eve…

Honestly, I doubt it. Most people seem to not see any issue with it. Single dads are a relatively small population, and in a society currently bent on striking men down at every turn, I doubt any news station would even be interested in hearing what you had to say. Now if it were male teachers bypassing moms to go straight to dads, now that's news....

I did, I went all the way up to the principal/superintendent and explained everything that was going on and she pretty much just dismissed me right off the bat, like it's really not a big deal, just normal stuff. I try to keep my head during anything when it comes to getting pushed to the side because I'm the father, cause I feel like if it's the type of people with that obvious fathers are second class mindset, if I show any type of anger they're going to jump to the "theres that male aggressio…

Actually people do live there, and definitely in the regions directly around it. There's a specifically mapped out area that you're not supposed to go in, but people not only still go in it, but live there. After the catastrophy happened there was an order to leave, but there were still people that stayed who said "screw you, not leaving, house is here and there's no way I could start over" and they've been living there pretty much off grid ever since. There are old people. who. walk on foot out…

Yea schools are horrible. My daughter's school tried so hard to make their mom the point of contact and forcefully route all information through her, very blatantly cutting me out whenever they could. They absolutely refused to involve me in anything and constantly acted like it was completely ridiculous that I would expect them to even talk to me. It was a constant battle to keep things running smoothly. Bear in mind, this is after letting them know, multiple times, even speaking personally one…

"looking stronger"? more like lookin like a sexy ass beast. good for him. I hope he's still doing well, and I hope that guy who criticized him stubbed his pinky toe on his bed afterward.

Because she makes less money than me (according to what she reports). They use a mathematical worksheet that takes both percentage of days per year and income of both parent into account. In NC, you can end up having more custody, but if your income is high enough and the other parent is low enough, you can still end up paying the other person child support, even though they rarely have the kids. It's pretty messed up because if you're a dad and can't financially support the kids, they take your…

I wish. I have 50/50 of my two girls and still pay a quarter of my income in child support.

I would say it only benefits the dependent, which in most cases happens to be the female.
