The note I didn’t readYour entitled to your views, but I don’t agree with them. Unless cardinal sins of marriage have been broken, (the entire reason vows have existed since the concept of marriage), you file for divorce.., that’s the act that broke the marriage. If you aren’t supporting your partner at their worst.., but instead making them worse, thus finally getting so fed up you file for divorce…, all you have done is shown it was never about the other person. True unconditional love is putting your partner befor… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/22 11:19 PM
I kind of expected that finding a new lady would be faster/easier post divorce than it has beenGet yourself a man toy instead (fun car, gun, bike etc) and go enjoy yourself. You don’t need a woman for that. You will be much happier in the long run spending your money on you and just living life. Once you are comfortable and happy with yourself / your life, that’s when the right person will come along, usually out of nowhere. But don’t force it. Online dating was a total shit show 10 years ago, I can only imagine the amount of blue haired, nose ring’ed, absolute dumpster fire of women ther… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/22 10:58 PM
I kind of expected that finding a new lady would be faster/easier post divorce than it has beenDisagree with much of what you wrote. For 10’s of 1000’s of years men and women were always together (making babies) true. But men and women in that same time frame were rarely spending much quality time together. Men would spend months at a time on hunts, exploration, war, etc., and be gone all the time. Only in the last 1000 years has this dynamic really shifted with more modernization and availability to grow food. There are still many cultures today (I’ve lived all over the world) where the … | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/22 09:42 PM
The note I didn’t readThat totally sucks man. But I’m going to hit you with some harsh realities. When someone files for divorce, they have already irreconcilably broken the marriage. Every single vow, promise, commitment (sickness and health), and the entire sanctity / sacredness of your marriage is broken forever. It takes 2 to work on things and commit to that. It takes one to actually file and destroy everything with the stroke of a pen. I’m sorry but, in time, you will realize this was a blessing in disguise. Sh… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/04/22 09:18 PM
I thought I passed the point of getting hurt againYou gotta like yourself before someone else. I don’t want to sound harsh, but you should be perfectly content being on your own and would accept someone that adds value to your life. I know a breakup sucks and it’s super fresh, but at the end of the day you want someone because they compliment you and your life. You definitely do not “need” someone. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/04/22 09:15 PM
Is there really a 50% chance of this happening? As people generally learn the hard way, all I can tell you is your gut is your number ONE thing you should trust. That feeling in your gut is a combination of your brain, your eyes, the sounds you hear, and lastly, the interpretation of touching all combined into one. Your brain, subconsciously absorbs all this information, most times without you making sense of it and transfers this “good, bad, red flag, run for the hills” feelings.., all without so much as a conscientious deep dive in your own… | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/04/22 09:06 PM
Anyone known an online zoom group for men (esp if wife had BPD or suspected BPD)The best and I mean, over the top so much better than anything out there by a million miles to read and understand, is a book (the audiobook is fantastic) called “psychopath free”. It will enlighten in far more ways than any support group you could imagine. As someone who was with a NPD ex, the author literally might as well have written my own autobiography / relationship. It is a super deep dive, very specific, piece of work. All the other books (I’ve read them all) cover surface level things.… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/22 09:46 PM
Does anybody else feel bad for Will Smith?Feel bad for him? Are you serious? He, on live TV, showed exactly what is wrong with the country in todays society. A comic, making comedy, has someone so upset over a joke that he reacts with physical violence. Will Smith is an absolute disgrace. If you are an adult and you can’t take the blunt of a joke, don’t even care if it’s at the expense of your wife, without resorting to violence, the last thing you are is a man. Men don’t resort to violence unless you need to. Stoicism, honor, and integ… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/22 09:35 PM
Weird new outlook after blitz-divorceBrother, I’m right there with you. Was blindsided and ghosted to end the marriage, not a single word was even spoken to me. Found out she was cheating on me later on. The divorce was so nasty because of her, it took longer than the marriage. Anyhow, I know exactly how you feel. While it was the worst time of my life and I’m lucky to still be amongst the living, I’ve finally put me first. I have an awesome Ducati, a race car, a street car, a new truck, and play around in the shop as much as I wan… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/03/22 09:25 AM
Lying cheating ex wife remarriedBrother, all that means is you are fucking NORMAL. That’s the feelings of someone that is not only capable of love, but was in love. Don’t ever think for a second you should be able to shut it off like a switch. What you feel is exactly what you should be feeling. Mark my words…, her marriage won’t last either. Every single thing she put you through, he will be going through sooner or later. She’s put on her best behavior to manipulate another wallet and doormat for to be legally tied to. But al… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/02/22 03:59 PM
The Respondent: Jordan Peterson interview's author Greg Ellis - highly relevant and reinforcing the views of this sub dangerously ;-)As someone who’d had their child alienated from them and destroyed through the family court system, to see 2 great men speaking on this issue, gives me a shed of hope this reaches the broader audience it deserves. The system is broken. Men are treated as subhuman in the family law system. Thanks for posting this OP! | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 08:11 AM
