24	Pickme reference in academia 💀from “Intersectionality: an Intellectual History” by Ange-Marie Hancock If we commit to really picking ourselves, we don't need anyone else to pick us. My pickme-ism stems from parental neglect and abandonment. I kept trying to get my own mother to pick me as a priority and she never would. She always came first. Now I'm learning to be my own priority and stop replaying this dynamic in relationships. I picked me.
