Copying an old comment of mine from AHS, it didn't make it thru the moderators. I'll give you some purely anecdotal examples. In my undergrad (STEM) program, I (non-white male), got the highest grades, I took the most grad classes, I did the most research. A friend of mine in the program (white female) also got very good grades and took grad classes, but objectively, her numbers were lower than mine. On paper, my resume was clearly superior to hers, even though we were both excellent candidates.…

I remember, back in college, sitting in the cafeteria with a bunch of girls. They were discussing who their favorite actor was. One girl said "Daniel Radcliffe!" This other girl instantly went "ugh, but he's so short!", and the rest all went "yeah, he's so short, ugh". The girl who first said that literally pointed out the window at some short dude just walking to class and went "ew, at least he's not that short!", and they all had a big laugh. I was just sat there like... what the fuck?!

Cleaning and cooking is not "labor", it's called being a fucking adult. That being said, it's extremely shitty to expect your wife to do all the cooking and cleaning and childcare. That is definitely labor, when you do it for another person week in and week out for years.

Absolutely, 200%. I've noticed the exact same thing. My own purely anecdotal experience: I was friends with a guy in college who was a physics/math major. He worked super hard, studied ~6-8 hours a day outside class on average, was really naturally smart and talented, and had the grades and GRE scores to show for it. I also know a girl who was a physics major who was smart, but constantly cheated on her homework, slacked off big time, had good grades and GRE scores but not as good as the guy, an…
