From recent oys: 5'9, 151 lb., 18% BF (Navy method); Stats | Weekly pic Been lifting 5 months now, first SL5x5, now Phrak's GSLP. Yes I've read NMMNG but apparently haven't internalized much of it. Daughter ate the same things as the rest of us. Yes, I'm a man.

Do you think those anonymous Chads are tying themselves in knots trying to guess what she wants? This is only one reason the vets here keep saying 'get out of her frame': you're responsible for your needs and desires, she's responsible for hers. Bending yourself to what you think she needs, is a perfect way to waste your life, sacrifice your own happiness, for no good end, and repulse her with your niceguyness in the bargain. Get out of her head.

Yeah, I probably heard abuot it from some PUA stuff and was just able to verify it with experience. Incidentally, I keep seeing the term "outdated" WRT to various PUA ideas. Obviously, if X-percent of girls have had someone run The Cube on them, then it's jumped the shark. But I can't see how core concepts like "statements vs questions" or "qualifying vs validation-seeking" would have an expiration date.

Oops, omitted that: Reference interval is 250-827 ng/Dl. Edited in OP. Doc actually offered me the option to start with the 2-week clomid trial or go straight to TRT injections.

I think the ideal of true outcome independence is a bit of a myth (after all, we do love our wives, right? So caring SOMEWHAT about how they react to us is totally normal) I've always kinda thought the same thing, especially in the beginning. It doesn't make much sense to "be OI about food" if you think you're starving. Fortunately sex is not food or air, so I've got time to improve me before I starve to death. For me, it became something like, "I'm going to have a great sex life, and I'm becomi…

=================== OYS week 24 Six months. Doesn't feel like it. I thought I'd be farther along. But it's all up to me, regardless. Currently reading: Athol Kay's Mindful Attraction Plan. With my recent house-hunting leadership blunders, I'm seeing that I need to let progress happen in multiple areas of my MAP, rather than trying to force one issue just because I think it's supposed to work a certain way. MAP highlights this idea with its notion of "energy sets". It's unlikely that I'll see hug…

I'm trying to hit one-half-to-one-pound per week, so 180 will be like in a 6-12 months, if I'm diligent with calories. Currently keeping it simple: around 1-gram-per-pound of protein, and fill out the rest with whatever. (Weight is measured consistently, daily, naked right after the morning piss, and gain/loss comparisons are based on a 7-day moving average.) I'll make it.

I probably need to just trust my gut a little more. Life is "safe" when you think you have a playbook with all the "right" things to do, but by age 44 a fella's gotta realize life doesn't work like that.

Getting us into a home that works for us is a big part of my mission. Of course, being an inconsiderate dickhead is not. So it seems to me I need to do a much better job of actually leading and getting buy-in, which probably involves slowing down, listening, and moving with a clear purpose. Is that what you mean?

=================== OYS week 20 Sex: I've been mostly uninsterested in sex the past couple of weeks, at least. It's odd, considering how even just a few months ago I was counting days from one encounter to the next. I've tried to figure out why this is. Is my wife just inherently unattractive? Have I just given up on it inside? Am I too busy in other areas of my life to make time for sex? Is my testosterone dropping off? (This last one is measurable; see below.) Then I ask myself: shouldn't I be…

Everybody's different, but I was never able to get my head right when lifting at home -- getting out of her frame meant getting out of the house, and a gym membership meant so much more than access to proper equipment.

Really curious here: Practice on hired guns seems equivalent to lifting with feathers. Have you found it actually leads to real gains?
/r/MarriedRedPill16/10/17 10:43 PM

I agree, it sounds low, but indeed I'm gaining weight, about 1 - 1.5 pounds per week, on a 7-day average. Here's a chart of my weigh-ins. I'm weighing consistently every day (naked, after the morning piss) and consistently after every gym workout (different scale, in gym clothes). The linked chart shows weights, 7-day average, 7-day gain/loss, for both home weight and gym weight, and average difference between home and gym.

how is your diet? Have you been cutting all this time? Daily diet is: minimum 140 grams protein (body weight is 151) and 2200 calories (almost always home-cooked foods and rarely a packaged sweet snack); this is gaining me around 1 pound per week body weight. Cutting (1.5 pound/week): June 27 to Aug. 22 Level out for a couple of weeks. Bulking (1 pound/week): Aug. 29 until now Also edited my OYS to note that I'm getting 8 hours sleep every night. I'm gonna post on r/gainit to see what they say.

=================== OYS week 19 This week was coasting, not really pushing forward on my mission. Frame: fuck-up and big distraction It's all good to keep a strong frame in the face of other people's petty shit, but in the face of my own mistakes it's a different matter. Family brunch after church each week You sure you want to lock in a routine line that? Routines can get boring and still be hard to stop because they "mean something". =================== OYS week 17 I had a bit of a breakthrough in the last week or so, mainly in the form of internally giving up on my wife (see my last OYS post and "beginner FR" post), which seems to have had the effect of shedding a lot of my covert contract thinking, and reminding me of my responsibilities to myself and my own mission. I was actually advised by a minister, just before we married, to make a point of going to bed together; he didn't say why. I later thought it made sex easier, but have since found that routine bedtime sex is boring AF. Nice tip on the language of inviting her to come along, and similar notion of Those who come to me to say hi get an enthusiastic greeting, those who don't, don't . It's a reasonable thing to try for guys who initiate sex in obvious or awkward ways, are bewildered or angered by rejection, or for guys whose wives recoil at physical contact. Great post, but can you elaborate on this point? Is "reasonable thing" meant to imply "helpful thing"? Because I'm that awkward, bewildered, recoil-inducing guy you describe. I could just stop initiating for a while, but how would it help me become any less of that?

The "cowards glance" I mentioned in my last OYS has become enemy #1. Yes. This is what I was addressing in a previous post, aiming for "denuding eye contact." That "cowardice" seems to be more a fear of myself than of anything else. But to put that aside, to be there, fully present, open and uncovered and shameless, that's powerful.

=================== OYS week 9 Lifting/Health: Back Injury, dammit: Injured my back putting in a garden at the house. carrying bags of soil and compost must have tired my back more than I realized, and out of nowhere one of those lifts just did me in. I rested for a couple of hours and finished most of the project, slowly. I thought a good night's sleep might fix me up, but the next morning at the gym I couldn't squat the bar without feeling a little pull; same for OHP; didn't even bother with d…

Goals are basically: get bigger lats, get stronger for no practical reason, brag about how many pullups I can do. Probably in reverse order.

Going to exhaustion 2 or 3 times a week has consistently gained me 1 rep per month, ie.., 6 months ago I could barely do 2 good reps. You think more frequent small sets will beat that?

OYS week 8 Family/leadership: Needs work: I could be more pro-active in planning family stuff. Example: Sunday, the kids finished up another community theater show, after which we usually go out for dinner to celebrate. After the show, the wife asks me, "So are we going out tomorrow?" I had no idea what she was talking about, so I said, "Actually I don't know what you're talking about." (I've found that it works much better to be frank and unapologetic about this, reather than other methods like…

framing my goal as practice ... observe her reactions and gather data for your own improvement. Perfect, thanks. Added this as a goal for the week.

OYS week 7 Family/leadership: Good: Started being more assertive in small decisions. Example: Out with the family to community theater show, talking with friends afterward, I think it's about time to go home; instead of starting with a question to the wife, "You about ready to go?", I find the kids, tell them we're going soon, and then tell the wife, "We're going soon." Things go so much smoother this way. Getting there: Really inspired by The biological step-mother post, which reminds me to kee…

Everybody here is a mechanic. Difference is, most of us are fixing up ourselves, because that's the one thing we can't trade-in.
/r/MarriedRedPill05/07/17 11:11 PM

OYS week 6 Family/leadership: I'm starting to see just how much my wife is leading this family day-to-day. I mentioned that kid #1 was invited to go out with friends Saturday night, and she said, "Okay, that's fine." Apparently she assumed I was asking her permission to let the kid go out. I count this as one of many indications of my lack of leadership over the years. I make all the money, but this woman runs the house. Need to start shifting that paradigm, probably by being more present. Goals…

Owning my shit, week 5: Frame: I heard this voice in my head a couple of days ago. "Is it possible she's just not going to change? Has she just lost her sexuality altogether? So where will that leave me a year from now, after doing all this self-improvement for her -- fuck." Yeah, "for her." Well, at least I noticed it. Still trying to understand what it means to be "in her frame." I'm getting the feeling it means: basing my actions on my perception of her emotions, rather than on my own desires…

I haven't had a real shit test since I knew what one was Noob here myself, in a similar boat. I think she gave up shit testing long ago. It'll actually be nice to see it start up again, whenever it does.

CCW: I found the best way to carry regularly is to carry always. Home or away, if I'm wearing a belt, I'm wearing a gun. Putting on the gun becomes just part of getting dressed. Never have to remember or take time to get strapped before going out. Carry always or guess right.

Newb here. I say, post in OYS and take your lumps; you'll surely get them, and they help.

"The stay plan is the go plan" I don't understand this one. Can you elaborate?

Owning my shit, week 4: I have a lot to learn This week I got a humbling education when I posted my newbie-awesome FR and got a serving of hard truth from MRP vets I respect. Four weeks in, some of the "new and shiny" has worn off of my RP, and I'm coming to see that this stuff really is hard. My motto at the moment: "I have a lot to learn," "Rome wasn't built in a day," and "Results count more than my feelings do." Health and fitness Still lifting, and working on proper form at the bench to sav…

Eye contract usually makes me feel nervous and awkward, and i tend to avert my eyes quickly; what i mean here is a level of eye contact that isn't trying to hide behind anything, and that aims to see through that awkwardness.

Thanks man. I'm learning.
/r/askMRP14/06/17 06:16 PM

I think you mean about my wife's mental health. So, i agree, overall mental health is within my area of concern. But moment-by-moment emotional stress levels are not. At least that seems true for where i am right now. Otherwise i wind up freaking out over every little wrinkle in her brow, and that seems like one of the things I'm trying to change. Probably when I'm stronger I'll have a more subtle and mature view of this.
/r/askMRP14/06/17 06:07 PM

It's served its purpose well so far. Maybe I'll try coffee shops too, why not?
/r/askMRP14/06/17 05:55 PM

Yep, i thought exactly that. It's embarrassing. I have a long way to go and will keep going.
/r/askMRP14/06/17 05:13 PM

Restating, you mean, "now is not the time to make it a background activity; spend the time to get it right, now." ?
/r/MarriedRedPill13/06/17 09:29 PM

Hadn't thought of targeting a specific weight or %BF yet. Honestly have been focused so far on "just lifting" and putting brainpower into developing other aspects of frame (business, OI, NMMNG stuff).

Can't recommend anybody yet. Just searching for terms like "kino touch", "kino flirting", "pua infield". Bench form: good point; I'll go back and check my form.

Owning my shit, week 3 Work: For me, the works struggle is always about time management. I work for my clients and have no boss, so my time is my own to manage or abuse. This week I've been struggling to keep up with deadlines. Twice in the past few days I've given up my regular tech meetups in order to cram for a deadline. These meetups aren't money-makers or commitments to anyone else, but they're chances for me to build and maintain relationships in the tech community and to keep educating my…

For a few years i was only using a straight razor with soap and brush. Felt pretty cool, but damn it just takes forever. I've got more important things to do with my time. I'm back to the disposables now and liking it just fine

Don't suck in your stomach. Why not? You mean don't do it in general for some posture reason, or don't do it in the pic because it makes the pic dishonest?
/r/MarriedRedPill06/06/17 05:58 PM

I almost decided not to write here because I don't have much to report. But a frank report might help me improve, so here goes. Lifting: I've been at the gym religiously, M-W-F for SL5x5. It's early in the morning and really enjoy the quiet atmosphere as well as the fact that I'm waking up and out of the house for something productive before the wife and kids are even out of bed. Makes me feel like a man just doing it. I've noticed some pain in my shoulder, not just when lifting but when putting…

... which makes me think: I've definitely taken actions in the past that have shaped my present situation. So I can definitely take actions now to shape my future situation.
/r/MarriedRedPill30/05/17 03:56 PM

Yep, totally agree. Perfect example: Very early on, I actually praised her profusely for having the strength to say no. Jesus. Anyway, i made my own bed; now i want to be strong enough and wise enough to remake it.

Total newbie here, just learned about TRP and MRP a couple of weeks ago. BACKGROUND: 44M married 17 years to 47F. Three kids, daughters age 9-15. Recovering lifelong nice guy aiming to start doing what I want again (which I'm still figuring out too) and hoping wife will want to come along. Sex has been slowly declining over the years, down to around once a month or so for a the past year or more. READING: I'm still working my way through the sidebar. Mainly reading SALSM and NMMNG concurrently, …

Okay thanks guys. For now it feels right to stop "initiating as a routine", mainly because it's a tired routine with crappy results, but also because the hopelessness of it saps my strength at this stage when I'm really trying to get my own shit together. I'm not trying to "make" her feel or do anything, just trying to get my own head on straight and establish my own frame and my own plan.
/r/askMRP29/05/17 03:00 PM

Edited the OP to note that I'm pretty much just a clumsy groper, so yeah, weak on kino, game, flirting, etc.
