I see your point, but I think it's a lot different to present these ideas unprompted, addressed to "men", implying you're "one of the good ones", versus replying to an open discussion on reddit that presents these ideas to you.

Well by that logic, you can also undermine the entire purpose of this sub. Men and women have different experiences in society and its ok to acknowledge that

It's a bit cringey coming from a man ngl, real pick me energy, but other than that it's true. Most women HAVE had a bad experience with a man. Most women are more vulnerable than most men, and it's good to keep that in mind to an extent. Like one thing I do is if I'm dropping a woman home, and she says to drop her somewhere other than the house, I'll offer but not insist to drive her the whole way home cause you never know if she's just being polite, or if some guy found out her home address and…

But wouldn't you say there's more to being a man than raised as a boy? Like, one thing that's talked about frequently on this sub is being seen as dangerous/ a threat. Nobody is trying to figure out how you were raised before they decide if you're dangerous/a threat because you're a guy. Obviously we don't have a100% shared experience, but to say there's "no shared experience" probably isn't correct either

An EU directive establishes a minimum standard to which national laws must apply, this directive doesn't preclude men being afforded the same protections. Your link isn't working for me so I can't check it, but is there a specific quote in it that implies that gender based violence is worse when done against women? Or that tells national legislatures to punish men more severely than women in like cases? As for the incel stuff you've gotta realise that for a lot of people the idea of what an "inc…

Because even though it may not be fair, its not changing. Realistically the best thing we can do as men is disregard society's expectations on us. Obviously this is a big ask but it's something that an individual can achieve while we push for a more accepting culture.

I would say though that most expectations of musculature for men come from other men, look at how popular feminine presenting men like the kpop boys are. A lot of young women want someone who looks like Curtis Connors, not Hugh Jackman

Does it not make sense that they're more alert around strangers / dangerous places, thus reducing the risk of such things occurring? Whereas around people you know, your guard is down. Presumably if women didn't take precautions at all, those stranger figures would be a lot higher

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
