And in my opninion if they are cosplayers themselves it could be a good sign, since cosplaying takes determination, time and effort to make it. If they are creepy you can get them banned from the convention

Depends on the friend. I have friends that work full time without acces to their phone, they might not reply for hours. If i know they arent near their phone, cool. But i cut off friends that are always on their phone and never respond. No effort for you.
