I second this. My soon to be ex threatened me with not even being allowed to see our children because she believes I am a narcissist and I emotionally abused her and our children. Well, a year on I have temporary full custody of our children. She is going through a lot of issues now and who knows what will happen long term. But it is very difficult to exclude one parent legally. So, unless you have been abusive in an outright physical way then she probably has no leg to stand on. For example, I …

You are asking the right question of your situation. (Claps) You are getting a divorce and she can want anything she wants. But you are not going to be married the relationship is done. She knows this . She can always ask you for a handyman’s number but you are not her handyman. You and her only need to coordinate on parenting things and need to be handed off. Like “daughter is going through this…or that. You might parent your daughter differently than her and that’s ok. If your daughter questio…

OP, I am proud of you for seeing what she became. Like or not, it is the truth. My ex did the same, I filed and she did all should could to try to get me to come back. Subservient etc. Gently and firmly pass because it is not an opportunity for you to grow. It is a path to slowly degrade your self in a toxic relationship.

Please don’t worry about gaining weight before joining. Joining is more important. If the place you join has a great professor who also competes it is even better. Also, if there are too many chads who go in for an ego boost find another place.

I second this. I highly suggest joining a jiu-jitsu gym. Go everyday. You will form great relationships with guys of all stripes, no pun intended. I am going through a divorce which I filed and as of right now I have no job and full custody of our two children. I still see a therapist but I am off my anxiety meds now about 8 months after starting. She still causes trouble and most likely has some psychological issues. Do all the things you know you should, eat well, get a routine, go to a gym. W…

It is hard for me to logically put together how if she had a baby with another man then her husband should pay any child support. I don’t get it.

Really, that is wild. Based on what could she get money from the non bio dad?

I had the exact same happen to me. Kid you not. My soon to be ex wife has a lot of problems she is going through that I cannot safely help her with. I had to file a restraining order and I have the kids. Seriously, she is trying to manipulate you ti save herself from embarrassment. Exact same thing happened to me. The best thing you can do for the both of you is change the future. So it is heather for you both.

fWIW, I believe that everyone is a living and caring person who are twisted by society and we become something else entirely. Sometimes grotesque. I am going through a divorce after my what seemed be to be perfect wife slowly revealed her imperfect self, which was fine, but out relationship was beyond repair and I wasn’t willing to help her and could t any in reasonable timeframe because of her violent abusive tantrums. We have been married over a decade and have two children. I have custody now…

Were these fathers of the children she gave birth to or a a new man she wanted to take care of someone else’s children?

Same here. COVID just sped it up and amplified the toxicity.

I am currently going through a divorce that has been a long time coming. We have a 9 YO and 11 YO. Our relationship has been nothing but crazy, and it felt like she always made things very difficult but she always blamed me for the difficulties. I have temporary full custody of our children through a judges order because her behavior has been abusive mentally and physically. I am literally working from the ground up here. Our children have not gone to school in four years and I am working on get…

I’m going through a divorce now so I haven’t experienced this. Based on your post my guess is that your anxiousness is that something is wrong. Like, red flags between you and her with no overlapping interests. Or you haven’t really given yourself permission to date. My 2 cents.

Do you have any ideas for me on where I can find a replacement father for my children?

Thank you for your reply. I am in the United States. I know that I am financially responsible for my children and I am happy to financially provide. I know that everyone will judge me as a ****. I can't even begin to imagine the hatred/digruntadledness my children will have toward me, but I know how they are torn and how damaged their lives are now. Something drastic has to happen or all our lives will further be ruined and this is my best effort. I am heart broken for letting the situation come…

But, it takes two to decide on custody. I want her to have custody as I know she will give them high standards and she will be there for them. She says she will only agree to taking custody if I find a replacement. My thoughts on this requirement aside, I am trying to fulfill the request and set them up for success. Through my research so far my best ideas for a father figure are "Boys and Girls Clubs of America" and "Big Brother and Big Sister"
