This is why I support straight pride. I think it's lame when people support gay pride and not straight pride. Not to say gay pride is bad, I completely support all of that, but there's a big difference between saying "Yeah, people should feel safe to love anyone, whether they're gay or straight," and saying "Ugh, why do you need a straight pride parade? It's homophobic." Just because I'm straight doesn't mean I'm homophobic.

The difference is you can't communicate with an M&M and ask "Hey, are you filled with arsenic?" I don't think we should use false equivalencies like this, especially since this is the same argument most women use to shut down "Not all men."

I love Bowie, and as an artist (visual, not musical) myself, he is a huge inspiration and one of my biggest influences. I also love how genuine and down-to-earth he was, always being an extremely kind person both on camera and especially off camera. David Bowie is genuinely my idea of the kind of man I wish to be one day.

I've always believed that anyone can support a group that they don't belong to without needing an ulterior motive. I know some people who consider David Bowie a trans icon for his very effeminate demeanor and characters, as well as his song Rebel Rebel. Despite the fact he was never trans himself, people view him a trans icon. Likewise, despite you being a female, I am greatly appreciative of your support, OP. To me, you're one of the bros.

I freely admit that my view on this is quite extreme... Hey man, there's nothing wrong with that. As long as people are willing to talk and have their views challenged, then any differing view point is welcome and encouraged, no matter how much it might go against the norm, nor how extreme it may be. I'd rather hear someone's extreme views and oppose it than never hear that person's views at all.

I'm in favor of gun restrictions - not prohibition, but restriction. Judging by your comment, I assume you're pro-gun? I'm curious to know how you feel about requiring extensive and proper training, as well as a thorough background check, before allowing someone to purchase a firearm. I personally have no issue with people owning guns as long as they are trained in its use, and have passed a background check to ensure there is no history of problematic or violent behavior.

You're right. I myself am a very lightweight and skinny young man, and physical prowess is not my strong suit, so I was mostly approaching this from the perspective of someone like me who would, theoretically, be built similarly to his wife, but in the case of individuals like yourself with a stronger body, yes, I think there is nothing wrong with expecting the husband to fend off intruders.

Yeah, I feel like it's stupid and hypocritical when people read this post and think "Send the wife!" She could easily post this exact post and now it's her life that doesn't matter. The husband and wife should both go down to confront the intruder.
