It took me four rereads of my comment to even find where I had said “lead” rather than “led.” It became a rather frustrating grammatical “Where’s Waldo?” that ultimately ended up with me being pissed at you for not being more specific rather than my own lack of spelling ability. Now, just for shiggles and gits, I choose to leave Waldo as is and see if anyone else cares to find him.

Thank you for your contribution. I have no idea what grammar was unacceptable, mein fuhrer.

I remember hearing about the Celtics and Larry Bird from my dad growing up. He was always a Lakers fan but was a huge Bird fan despite the rivalry. I grew up watching Jordan and was a huge Bulls fan until his retirement, kinda scoffed when he played for the Wizards. My pick for the best will always be Jordan, but my favorite will always be Shaq. That dude was my hero as a kid.

I’ve heard people make the argument about fundamentals being the drive to watch the WNBA. I always have the same reply: I played basketball from kindergarten through my senior year in high school. Over the years, I went to several basketball camps, one of which was lead by former University of Kentucky player Cameron Mills. He’s not much of a known quantity outside of Kentucky, but this guy managed to be on the ‘96 and ‘98 championship teams, so a big deal for us. He never really had a pro caree…

Funny how it’s only abuse when it happens to a woman.

Oh! I see. For some reason I only got the first part of that message. Apologies. Yeah, I agree, but how is Tinder much different? It likely fosters a doubt in the minds of people who are looking for more than just a quickie or a short term fuck buddy. I imagine people who are looking for something more long term are going to be more selective with their swipes, only to be quickly disconnected from in a similar way to Omegle. At least that was the comparison I had in mind. I could just be full of…

It’s very possible, I genuinely wouldn’t know. It’s honestly why I’m trying to understand the situation more. I’m 32 and I married a woman 6 years my junior. She also hates the type of shallow shit said by some of her peers. However, she’s kind of an old soul, so I’m not entirely certain how to gauge her cynicism.

I was much like you, sounds like. I grew up knowing full well I was odd. I didn’t quite know why, but I always seemed to associate better with older kids and adults rather than kids my age. So people my age just didn’t relate to me well nor I with them. So I played sports to try to fit in and video games at home to escape the hellscape of a school life I had. Good on you! Congratulations, my friend. Oh I’m certainly not complaining about my situation. My wife is amazing and I’m very lucky to hav…

I’m not necessarily bashing the short term nature of Tinder dates, I’m just saying that people going into Tinder expecting it not be high school in app form are fooling themselves. Take my cousin for example. He’s in his early thirties, divorced, and has three kids. He’s on Tinder hoping to find someone to date, presumably more long term than just a hook up. He’s wasting his time looking for anything deep on an app that expects you choose who you’d like a chance to chat with quicker than you cho…

Maybe so. I just don’t recall many girls making a huge deal out of my height. Either 18-24 year old girls are getting more shallow or any attention to my height went over my head when I was in high school and college.

I honestly think that the main issue is trying to use Tinder as a dating service. It’s so shallow a premise. “Hey, I like how you look/what your bio says. We should consider dating.” That’s a hook up justification, not a basis for building a relationship. I remember internet dating services trying to connect people based on personality types and interests rather than who can create the best looking profile pictures. Might as well try to turn Omegle into a dating service.

Agreed, you don’t. I’m just baffled that this has become such a trend.

I’m amazed I managed to find a woman to marry me. When I was in high school, I was kind of an unassuming guy just trying to fit in. Eventually I became the guy who gives no shits if I fit in or not. Somewhere along the way, I managed to find my wife and she somehow puts up with me.

I’m starting to wonder if this isn’t becoming a meme on both sides. I’ve never had women in my life obsessing about my height. In my younger and single days, I wasn’t a terrible looking fellow and I’m just under 6’4” and I wasn’t exactly having girls fawning over me about it. When did this trend start?

“... had more victims as young as 11.” Wouldn’t the fact that the teacher molested a 14 year old for 4 years imply her victims were as young as 10 at some point?

I know that soldiers aren’t likely trained in boxing for hand-to-hand combat/self-defense, however I’m dying to know who trained this woman to “fight” at all. I’ve seen more effective punches thrown by my local car dealership’s wacky-waving inflatable, arm-flailing tube man. The man was no pugilist either, for that matter, but he knew how to throw a punch at least.

Tell that to all the men who stick their dicks in crazy and continue to do so even as their lives are starting to fall apart around them as a result. I'm not implying that it should be more important or that all men have a hard time distinguishing between the two, but adjusting for IQ averages in human in general, there are likely more men who fall victim to the will of the penis rather than good sense.

I'm implying that since they hold the power over whether or not a man can pass on his genetic material, then men had to develop the social skills to break the ice if they wanted to be able to reproduce.

Women suck at trying to initiate flirting because they aren’t used to doing it. They aren’t required to come up with anything creative or funny to break the ice with because it’s socially suggestion that’s men are the pursuers. A lot of women can banter with you once you get the ball rolling but if you were to create a Sadie Hawkins scenario in a bar where only women can approach men, they would have to learn through trial and error as men have over the course of their lives. Genetically, woman …

That’s really cool. Hone those skills and make something of that passion you have for those things. Turning your hobbies into careers is a great way to find satisfaction in life. When I was your age, I had no idea who I was or what I wanted out of life. I had never had a girlfriend, I was socially awkward and putting on weight pretty fast after high school sports had ended. I was severely depressed and stuck in a dead end job. I had given up on any hope of ever meeting anyone who would accept me…

What kinds of stuff are you into? Hobbies and such? If you had an opportunity to do anything in this world as a career, what would you do?

When I was in high school, I decided to be nice to a girl who had a reputation of being our grade’s slut. She needed a lift after school and so, even though I drove an old beater that was as old as I was at the time, I gave her a ride. She came onto me while we were parked at a store waiting for someone/something (I dunno... it’s been 14 years). Anyway, she tells me she knew I’d give her a ride because “I have tits” and she squished them together provocatively. I’m an awkward teenager, so I’m ju…

I don’t know that it was Hollywood, games, etc. that really created this misconception. I honestly believe it stems from the idea that there are no differences between males and females biologically. “A woman can do anything a man can do,” while a great sounding platitude, doesn’t represent reality. Same goes for the inverse. It’s not harmful to have Lara Crofts, Atomic Blondes, or Batgirls, so long as we are clear that these are works of fiction. We need to teach our women and girls the reality…

What is it with non-gamer women always saying “that game” when complaining the men in their life game too much? “I’m tired of you being on that game all the time!” Bitch, I’ve got over 300 games on my Xbox, I’ll just switch to Halo and you can suck a dick.

I grew up in Kentucky, in the foothills of Appalachia, and I can’t even begin to tell you how many people didn’t fuck their cousins. As a matter of fact, we very much made fun of people who assumed our rural towns were that backwards and fucked in the head. I’ll grant you, many of those same people would then make fun of West Virginia for basically the same thing. The worst scandal we had at my high school, which are two big ones I’ll admit, we had a 30 year old assistant basketball coach get a …

As a Kentuckian, I can certainly tell you that she is absolutely not the best we can put out there. Don’t get me wrong, she’d get it if the circumstances were right, but we have much more attractive ladies not desperate enough for male attention that they go for minors.
