Ex oilfield wife. I worked in the field - I lived at man camps. Masculinity and sheer logic really do seep in, so finding femininity again was hard. the surrendered wife and all things by the author (her podcast is awesome) just like you’d put on a certain outfit for a tough day you’ve got coming up, try the same. Like I have underwear for my 2mile gym run, my chores at home, and then a whole diff pair when I’m choosing to be feminine. it takes practice and I never felt the change until I starte…

I love that you know exactly what you want. You’re picking up on your partner’s differing views for a reason. If he supports you in ANY role you want to take, he’s a keeper. My first marriage - I had a coveted position and made amazing money. When my position changed, I felt a shift. When I began to want to have a family soon, things really went south. My 2nd marriage - amazing. This man supported me through several job changes, with the bold masculinity to step up and support me as I’m now home…

LOL! First, how would it feel to stop referring to this version of self as a demon? Let’s change this to something positive! Negativity earns more of it and it is so easy to hate on myself during a relapse with a demon instead of a learning experience with ‘Bob’. I personally, as a former hothead, recommend 2 thing: Get a relationship coach; I got a Laura Doyle coach and she helped me see what I was doing in new light and taught me ways to work through and repair. I loved it, took more coaching …

Ouch! I’d feel hurt if someone explained to me how they knew they’d emasculated me and humiliated me, putting words in my mouth and pushing me to relive the experience. I have to administer a lot of apologies. I have to stick to my own paper when I do, best I can… “I’m so sorry for losing my temper and calling you a jerk. That was completely disrespectful of me, and I apologize.”

I’ve had to change it up a bit, too. I like to point out my specific action and then go from there. Sometimes it takes me a day or two to build up to being ready to apologize, so I feel like it’s important to tie it back to the instance, for my own recognition. ‘About last night when I lost my temper… I want to apologize for being so disrespectful to you. I’m sorry.’

I love LD. Got the book, tested it for 2 weeks and saw huge changes. It led to peace for the first time in 5 years. I signed up for coaching later, but he ended up having his own things to handle and walked out randomly. Coaching helped me to control my anger, sadness, and frustration - and I showed up to the phone proceedings with dignity. The day before signing… he called to tell me we didn’t have to do this. I had to tell him I’d already given my heart away. It was so sad - he just needed his…

I loved it. I had great results, had peace for the first time in our relationship. Ended up going towards divorce still as he had randomly moved out, and as we were working up to the divorce he didn’t want to sign - but it was the night before signing that he told me. I didn’t think that would ever happen; I didn’t know it could! I had signed up for her coaching right before he moved out and it helped me control my anger and keep the proceedings respectful. But during ALL THAT TIME… I’d already …
