Sorry to hear that. Sadly I know exactly what you're going through. My husband still has no interests, and we don't do much together. I guess all we can do is keep trying new things and see what sticks.

Thank you. Yes, you're right. It really feels like we're on our own with health stuff. Luckily we have a lot of resources available to us online. Good luck with your health journey!

Thanks, I think you're right. I don't know honestly, I wish there was. I've been doing what I can to stick to a budget and cut corners where I can. I make sure all his stuff at home is taken care of like laundry, food, etc. I've tried to find online work but no one will hire me. I even offered to work for free once just to build up a portfolio and they wouldn't bite.

You're right! I actually noticed that when reading it over again. But my husband doesn't like most traditionally male activities like sports, video games, fixing cars, etc. 😅 He does watch action movies, but I can't tolerate them. I have to leave the room when he watches them.

We did used to watch movies occasionally many years ago but I can't stare at screens anymore for long periods of time without being bored out of my mind. Plus he falls asleep after about ten minutes of staying still. :(

I keep telling him that and he agrees but it never lasts long, lol. Probably because we quickly realize how we have nothing else to discuss.

Wow, thanks very much for sharing this with me! And you have my condolences for your father's passing. He does sound a lot like my husband. He genuinely enjoys providing for us, even though it's breaking his body. I think the main issue is that the work he does isn't fulfilling for him anymore and it's destroying him physically. He enjoyed it when he was younger, but it doesn't serve him anymore at this stage of life that he's entered. He also doesn't feel as though he's able to provide for us a…

It's hard to find positive topics to talk about when we don't have any shared hobbies. Mostly our son is it. He is a chef and I cook as a hobby so we already do what we can for our diets. And as it's winter and he's practically disabled now from chronic pain that doctors can't do anything about, we're really limited in what we can do outside of the home. It's been really challenging to keep our spirits up.

We mostly just mutually complain about how the world is going to hell in a hand basket. The solidarity is nice, but depressing at times. As for why he's unhappy, we're sure it's his job and his body breaking down. But there isn't anything we can do about that right now.

Thanks for your reply. No, he doesn't seem to be particularly happy or fulfilled. He doesn't take part in any of my hobbies either. I don't expect him to, but I would like for us to have at least one thing we can connect over.

This might be an unpopular opinion/observation, but I've literally never met a man who discussed women's clothing with me at length like that. 🤔 They've all either liked what I wore or didn't say anything about it. I didn't think men really thought about it much.

I know, you're absolutely right. It's invaded basically every industry. :( I can't even watch reviews on epilators without half of the comments section belonging to people whining about how tHe pAtrIarChY "shames" women into removing body hair. I think they're just not used to not being praised and validated in every choice they make and it angers them that men prefer certain looks/attributes that they either aren't able to achieve or aren't willing to achieve. Yeah, you said it perfectly. I don't look anything like the VS Angels but I recognized and respected their place in the franchise. The modern day fashion industry is forgetting that the entire point of models is to make clothes look appealing. VS was originally marketed toward men who wanted to shop for their wives or girlfriends and it didn't hide the fact that their products were designed to appeal to men's preferences. I don't see the problem with that because if I want a comfy yet dowdy-look…

I wasted a lot of my best years with a man who was probably gay or asexual and he never told me the entire time, just kept pretending like everything was okay. So this post kinda hits home for me. I listen to a lot of men's RP channels too and I admit they do get me down sometimes. They make me feel completely worthless as a woman, but I want the truth. It would be nice if there was a unisex or women's RP channel out there.

There are a few articles I could send you on it but they basically got rid of their Angels and their fashion show and they're using athletes and trans women and SJW activists to represent their lingerie now. I don't like being obviously pandered to like that because these companies don't care about us or any of those groups, they're just putting on a shiny woke veneer so they look like they do. I just want a pretty bra or a pair of underwear that fits and that my husband will like, not a lesson …

Exactly! I can't stand those gross ads. And seeing the comments section applauding their message just knocks the wind out of my sails. It's like all decency is dead. I don't care if other people have period sex but I really don't want to hear about it.

Not only that but now that Google algorithm has figured out my gender they feel the need to show me these disgusting Flex ads that tell me I should buy their product so I can have period sex. 🤢 I switched to washable reusable cloth pads a few years ago and I am enjoying using those. I've never been a fan of tampons, but I think if you're going to use them organic cotton is definitely the way to go. I suppose you're right. It just seems like people who lean that way can't leave politics out of virtually any aspect of their lives. I don't really love any current trend that I can think of off the top of my head. What I hate, on the other hand, is much easier: Comically long eyelashes, comically huge butts, comically huge lips, blue hair, when the sides of the head is buzzed but the top is long, shorts that show the underside of the cheeks, tattoos on every inch of the body/neck/head that make people look like walking graffiti. Why? Because it looks gross. Glad the caterpillar eyebrows are finally going away at least.

You're an idiot if you really think that. Also, who cares if some of us want to please someone else? Humans are a social species. Maybe not all women fit as neatly into this post-feminism "do whatever you want and screw everyone else" mentality we've been indoctrinated with. At the end of the day we'll be the ones happily married with families while people like you cry alone at home at 45 wondering "where have all the good men gone".

I am a woman in case that's relevant. Traditional gender roles feel right to me and always have. Both genders (yes, there are only two) have their strengths and weaknesses and they complement one another. I would much rather serve/honor/submit to my husband than to an employer who doesn't care about whether I live or die.

I definitely never suggested that only women in foreign countries needed help, I was just using it as an example of western feminist's warped priorities and how they seem to have their blinders on. I was not aware of any of this and it's clear you've put effort into compiling this for us to read so I thank you for that. Men's rights, or lack thereof, as well as the gross neglect of the needs of men all over the world have always been a big concern of mine and this information is of great interes…

While I agree with most of what you're saying, I've always believed that people should be entitled to their opinions just as people should be free to do what they want so long as it isn't hurting anyone. Therefore, my "views" are just as much a right as a man's choice to wear a dress is. He chose to wear that dress, therefore I have the right to judge him. However, your argument that men wore skirts in ancient Greece isn't the best comparison as they were still made to complement a man's figure.…

Yeah, I can't argue with that logic. Point taken.
/r/MensRights09/10/20 01:57 PM

That's true, but your assumption that people will just accept men in dresses like it's nothing is a pretty big reach. No matter how you look at it dresses are cut for a woman's figure and as I mentioned before, women are not attracted to effeminate men. If men don't care about attracting women, that's fine, wear a wedding dress to Target for all I care. Just calling it like it is. The problem is people these days are assuming it's as simple as "changing our views" when separating ourselves from …

Because women already have more rights than men in the western world and it's gotten to the point where they're inventing new problems like "manspreading" to stay relevant. Meanwhile men are no longer comfortable being alone with women at work for fear of being accused of rape and having their lives destroyed because they're now guilty before proven innocent thanks to #BelieveWomen, and in other countries where women actually need feminism because their lives are in danger these "activists" are …

Life can be cruel. Men lose interest in women after 35 and they become basically invisible. Once again, that's biology.

That's fine, but those people are incredibly rare. The majority of people care about finding a partner and that influences their lifestyle. It would be a wonderful world that didn't cast judgement for other's choices but you're giving the human race an awful lot of credit and I think you're going to be disappointed for it.

This is why I like discussions like these, because every now and then they give me a whole new perspective on things. You're absolutely right, people who contribute to society should be the ones to vote (aka, people who are putting their money where their mouths are otherwise known as tax payers). Up until now I have (secretly for fear of committing social suicide) believed that women just aren't capable of making decisions with their heads rather than their hearts, but now that I think about it…
/r/MensRights08/10/20 06:21 PM

Before you all grab your pitchforks consider the implications - women are wired to seek providers and they're going to vote with that in mind. Their own as well as their children's needs come first rather than what's good for the majority. Besides, it was family units who used to vote rather than individuals, so women still had a voice even before the suffrage movement. Women voters are part of the blame for the welfare state getting out of control like it has and now that women are incentivized…

These struggles are only a drop in the bucket for your average man, although the first point doesn't make much sense. If women walked in men's shoes for even one day they would change their tune quickly.

Like it or not, biology has decided that heterosexual women are not attracted to effeminate men and heterosexual men are not (usually) attracted to masculine women. Sorry, it sucks, but that's just the way it is. There are exceptions to the rule of course, but they're very uncommon. Masculine women don't possess the physical traits that suggest fertility where effeminate men do not appear to be capable of providing and protecting a woman and her offspring from danger. In the end we're all just m…

I mean, it's a pretty cute dress for a little girl, but most hetero women aren't instinctually drawn to "cute" submissive men no matter how much they're brainwashed to believe they are. I personally don't think dresses suit men's body shape, but to each their own. Kilts though? Flattering and masculine too! It just goes to show that nearly every style of clothing can be made to suit either gender. People complain that women wear men's clothes but it's cut differently and "feminized" to flatter a…
