When they actually vocalize their bigotry, then they are showing the world how shitty they are. They can't hide anymore and claim "it's good for men too!" I approve.

If that was the case, then there's no point in hiring men at all. The thing is, just because you're in the same position, doesn't mean you're doing the same job. Men are more likely to accept tasks that are dangerous and/or require them to stay long periods of time away from their families. My male cousin stayed in an oil vessel for two months for a hefty sum. Several of his female coworkers got the same offer, but they declined. Not saying they're wrong, I'm a girl and I'd prefer to stay with m…

I love the company of men. I've never been talked down or had my achievements underplayed. Probably because I don't expect recognition just for having a vagina.

I'm clinically crazy. But I don't go into screaming matches with my fiancé or any of my SOs. Part because I'm a very passive/non confrontational person, part because fucking common sense.

I'm an awkward loner, and my friends tend to be awkward loners too. From my observations, my male friends seem to find their position in the dating world from mildly to very unsatisfactory, but it's a biased view.

You mean, compared to women? Compared to some point in the past? Or what?

If people are behaving in a barbaric way in the name of your movement, I'll assume you're compliant with their actions. It's your responsibility to dissociate your identity from them.

Society perceive we women as fragile and in need of care and protection. Fierce and independent feminists sure love to abuse this.

Basically, unless you have some knowledge of data analysis, and scrutinize carefully, statistics prove whatever they want to.

I've heard that argument that women shouldn't work as much because of familial responsibilities before. I still think it's bullshit. If women really get less productive because of issues outside of the company, then it's a good argument against hiring them at all. I'm a woman myself, by the way.

That's dumb. First and foremost, whatever happens after the person, female or otherwise, leaves the workplace isn't the company's business. If women feel stressed because of familial responsibilities, then it's up to her to talk to her husband or other family members to split up tasks fairly. And if there's real ongoing workplace sexism, then punish the perpetrators. Of course, assuming the sexism in question isn't "they like the male manager better reeeeeeee!".

To be fair, there's a stigma attached to men about all mental disorders. It's usually said women are more afflicted by affective disorders, like borderline personality disorder, bipolar, etc., but we can never know for sure until there's a real effort to diagnose men.

Also a possibility. In reality, it was a combination of both, and other factors. I'm no saint. I did stick with him after a year of unemployment and probably felt higher about myself than I should. Hey, I stuck to you after you became unemployed! Aren't I awesome? Validate me! Not only I didn't get that validation, he'd actually lash out at me. In the end, we had two people frustrated for petty reasons. I can't even say I don't cling to outdated ideas about masculinity myself, either. I did find…

I'm against forced gender roles. I'm also for equality of opportunity. That's about the extent of it. I still want to pursue a more submissive role, with my husband as a provider. I'm also very supportive of traditional masculine traits. Not for all this forced 'feminization' of men. Certain jobs being more male (or female) dominated is totally okay. The chance is there, if not many women want to take it (or can't meet the requirements), then that's it. 'Misogyny' also doesn't faze me. I'm not g…

I never got the whole fucking a drunk woman = rape. Assuming she isn't nearly passing out of course. What about other substances that can potentially cloud one's judgement? I take potent antipsychotics. Is my fiancé raping me every time we have sex or something? What about sleep deprivation? It can impair brain functions as much as a couple glasses of wine. Or worse, what if you're seething with anger? I'm mad at my fiancé because he didn't like the Star Wars themed lingerie I bought, so I fuck …

This is the closest I found to a community that fits my views and ideals, but I wouldn't say I'm for men's rights. I'm not egalitarian either. I don't believe everyone is fundamentally equal. I'm for doing what is right, rather than trying to assist a certain group. Fairness is a good goalpost most of the time, but, sometimes, unfairness comes from something out of our control.

Fiancé knows my count and how high it is, doesn't give a shit, and I wouldn't dare disrespecting him. If a woman doesn't respect a man, it's because he's a beta. That's all.

I don't get it either. As I said, at least on my social circle, not many men value female virginity or lack of experience. Just own up to it. If he happens to value it, and she lies to please him, then yeah, that's totally on her.

That's what I do. I have met some guys who valued virginity, or lack of sexual experience in women, but they never did anything to me. As in, I've never thought "I really want to get with guy X, but he would be put off by my sexual past".

There's the whole male pride thing. When my ex lost his job, he clearly resented not being able to take me to nice places, or having me pay when he did. I didn't even care much (other than having financial problems of my own), but it was not about me. And, in retrospect, I realize that being nice and understanding kinda added insult to injury. Like he felt unmanly for not being able to provide nice stuff for his caring girlfriend. Frustration and resentment eventually lead to stress and anger. W…

I'm probably gonna do a similar thing. I want to stay at home after having kids, because I believe small children should be with their parents. My future husband is okay with that and supportive. But I want to have at least a master's in theoretical physics or mathematics first. I don't want my marriage to end, but shit happens. If we end up having a divorce, I want a shot at something better than cashiering at Walmart. Not to mention he could die, or get health issues, or a bunch of stuff. Not …

Don't you know? People from developing countries are ineffectual and helpless and need guidance from the much superior Americans and Europeans so we don't make shitty choices, because we totally don't know what's good for us!

Could be. She didn't really answer my question, just made a face like something "clicked" inside her head. Like I said something she didn't think of before. Part of face to face communication is non verbal cues, which are hard to transcribe into text. It's an anecdote, holds no scientific value.

But I put forth that women aren't into compsci. I'm not rebutting her claim, I'm backing up mine.

Hey, if more women happen to be interested in coding and computing, great! More opportunities for me to get along with someone of my gender, which doesn't happen very often right now. It's just that the options are already there, and they can already do it if they want to. Up to the early 90s, the best engineering schools in my country didn't accept girls, but that's no longer a thing anymore. I also don't know of any girls who would love to be able to do coding or the such, but they don't becau…

She wanted to work part time to spend more time with her family. There's nothing wrong with that. Not sure what's the benefit of having women working full time just to prove a statement. The option is there. She can take it if she wants. She chose not to.

Well, yeah, but that's not my point. The project is probably part of a social studies course, or something else in the humanities. The reason she took this course is probably because she thinks it has better affinity with her interests. And there's nothing wrong with that. But why can't we extend this for other women? Perhaps only a very small percentage of women is into coding and other STEM stuff. It's not like most men are crazy to study programming either. The few who do, do it because they …

Anecdote time. Walking around the local university campus, some group of students requests to ask me some questions, for a project. Fine by me. "What do I identify as?" Safe space culture took a while to get here, but I guess it did. I resist the urge to say I identify as a Russian monarch and demand they refer to me with czarina/czarinaself pronouns and just answer. "Female." "What do you do for a living?" "Unemployed" Country is in dire economic situation. Not exactly surprising. I should poin…

I feel there's a misconception on what's the judicial system meant to do, even within itself. It's meant to promote justice. It's not meant to guarantee women's rights, it's not meant to "think of the children", it's meant to promote justice. If the outcome of justice isn't the most beneficial for the child, then it's up to the executive power to help in the form of welfare. Forcing a man who's innocent or proven deceived to pay child support is ludicrous.

Yeah. I said I think women have the say on whether or not to have an abortion because we're the only ones who get pregnant. That means women are the only ones who should have restrictions imposed onto us for the sake of the kid. Not only alcohol and drugs, seeing pregnant women eating shitty food pisses me off too.

Oh, right. I agree that's a shitty thing to say. I've been saying for a while that lying about being on the pill/poking holes on a condom should be considered criminal and, if proven, should let the guy off the hook for paying child support. Most common argument against I hear is "what about the child"? Well, he's fucked, but justice shouldn't be about children, it should be about justice. Similar case to men who were proved to not be the biological father, but have to pay child support anyway b…

I'm a woman who has been victim of sexual assault. I don't believe there's a rape culture. We got to the point we are overthinking consent. I feel like my struggle with sexual assault has been trivialized by the feminist media. I don't have any book indications, but I love to chat about it, if you want.

I'm not sure I follow, are you talking about not allowing a man to have a say on whether a pregnancy should proceed or not? In that case, I'll have to agree with them. I don't like the idea of an external agent forcing a person to perform an action on their body, such as abortion, in the same way I don't like the idea of an external agent forcing a person to endure something happening on their own body. It's just that person will always be female in this case. It's not a case of misandry, just b…

Even among my social circle, I have been called every name in the book when I said Amy Schumer is fat. Like, it's okay to call men fat because they don't care, but call a woman fat and you just made 3 girls starve themselves. Because women are sensitive to the point of uselessness, and there's a starving epidemic in the world, specially in America.

Well, it doesn't warrant jail time as other forms of coercive sexual abuse, but if I was judging a family case and found out one partner withheld sex with the only purpose of manipulation (which can be admittedly hard to prove), I'd treat them as an emotional abuser.

Well, I'll admit I'm a picky little bitch, and can get anal when statistics are involved, and that most of the links aren't loading on my phone for some reason (I'll give them a thorough look when I get home), but I have a problem with blaming discrimination/society/"them" when it can be easily explained by other factors. Say, that perpetrators of crimes against women are more often given the death sentence can be explained by the fact women tend to be physically weaker, thus the crimes in quest…

Not denying that is a thing. Men definitely get judged more harshly. I just prefer to base my views on concrete allegations. Several feminist claims can also be backed by vague data (wage gap) comes to mind. I prefer to avoid the same.

I mean news on actual cases of men being given the raw deal. The ones linked are nice, but don't necessarily give the whole information. One of the posts you linked has an excerpt that says: Prof. Starr emphasized that it is not possible to "prove" gender discrimination with data like hers, because it is always possible that two seemingly similar cases could differ in ways not captured by the data.

Hmm, not bad per se, but you are threading a dangerous line, as you are close to doing the same feminists do: assuming inequality of outcome implies inequality of treatment. For instance, having more men in jail than women isn't necessarily a sign that men are treated harsher, as much as a sign that men commit more violent crimes. A similar situation with harsher penalties. The raw data doesn't give information on whether or not it's deserved. To make it clear: I'm not stating your conclusions a…

When I was 5, I had a lot of dolls and stuffed animals. Since I didn't have a brother or a boy my age around, so I could have a chance to experiment with boy's toys, mom gave me a little toy car. Every night, I tucked the car in to sleep.
