Well then let me just end this by stating my intention wasn't to 'defeat' you. Just to show you what I believed the OP's position to be. I'd actually like to thank you for keeping an open mind about it, and considering the alternative viewpoint. I do agree with you that a day should be made for these issues, but I'd counter that we have quite a few other days that aren't allocated to something to do so with.

Then let me respond as another observer that from how you framed your sentence you made that very implication. I don't know how to do fancy quotes but "they might just hate men. Because we need days of praise, right?" This statement here to me shows a clear disregard for the sentiment that I believe is supposed to be behind the holiday. One of recognition not of just men being men, but of their issues they face still in the current evolving world we live in. While admittedly some of these issues…
