I'm working towards it. Several projects I'm building up on my own, while saving up 70% of each paycheck to make the eventual transition much smoother. If I've already decided not to follow the path of marriage, I might as well focus on doing meaningful work as opposed to slogging through a 9-5 the rest of my life.

I don't dress poorly, but I have a very limited wardrobe. It's a running joke at my work that I have an outfit assigned to each day of the week, but I don't care. I look good and have way more money in the bank than any of them. I do, however, drive an absolute trashcan of a car. This to me is the right balance. The only thing that ever really helped me was the mindset of setting a list of important categories that need to be dealt with daily (cleaning, creative projects, finances, etc) and making sure that I spend at least a minimum of 5 minutes on each of these each day. Even if it's a shitty half-assed attempt, more often than not I end up getting motivated enough just by starting and spend more than 5 minutes.
