So it seems it's not that I have lower standards, but different taste. I can certainly see why someone would find those guys attractive, but they're just not my thing. Give me a young Jagger, Bowie, Damon Albarn, or Alex Turner any day. I mean, you're not the first guy to not understand why so many women find certain non-standard guys so attractive (Benedict Cumberbatch and Harry Styles come to mind), but usually they aren't so arrogant that they think the only guys women could possibly find att…

Genuinely curious, who are some specific men who you think women should be attracted to?

Mick Jagger was hot when he was young too. His talent, style, and general demeanor ramped that attractiveness up. The guy in that video is pretty much the epitome of my type. Are you really saying I can't be into guys who look like that and are also not in bands?

Cheating is a practice condoned or encouraged in the red pill. Go tell them it's womanly and you'll get called a beta pussy.

so I had to step out When that's your first step on the path to becoming a better person, you're doing it very wrong. You were weak and pathetic and now you're even more weak and pathetic. You're not an alpha. If you're actually married, then your marriage will end when she finally gets sick of your bullshit just like with so many red pill marriages. Then you still won't see what you did wrong and put even more blame on her and women in general. You'll be just another middle age creep hitting on…

This I kinda agree with. You wouldn't have the red pill if it weren't for all the pathetic damaged guys finding (well, fantasizing about finding) extremely insecure women to browbeat. I do feel a little more sympathy toward rape victims trying to work through healthy relationships than some "tough guy" manbaby who never got over the fact his mom wouldn't buy him a playstation though.

Here's a fact: your friend told you he violently raped someone and you're trying to find reasons to justify it, from "it was the steroids" to "maybe she actually wanted it" to "it was a whole year ago and he got away with it." Why would anyone value your viewpoints on rape when you can't even accept that a man raped a woman when the man told you straight up he did?

There's never been a golden age for overly long stories.

As someone who's been in a similar situation, I don't really care what he thought about our relationship. He's the one who took a long term relationship and turned it into a joke. I can only presume it doesn't feel too great thinking you've wasted several years of your life. I got over him pretty quickly due to his behavior at the end, but he didn't seem to take it too well. During the red pilly portion of our relationship, he still wasn't getting what he wanted. Judging by his latest relationsh…

How do you even measure that? I see plenty of attractive 30 somethings, male and female, but the majority aren't so great.

Or they could just go their own way and live out fulfilling lives that just so happen to not include relationships. Instead they seek out stuff to hate-read and obsessively post about the evil womens on the internet. That's not going their own way, that's being bitter and sad.

How do you quantify that?

How much do most people lie about how happy they are? How many people make up most people? How are these not just feelings you have about what the world might be like? I never dismissed anyone's experiences, but I have my own experiences. Who's to say that candid talks with close friends are bullshit (when they're never bullshit about anything else)? I know not everyone is in a perfect relationship and that people tend to hide their imperfections from the world. I absolutely believe that most pe…

Basically what you're saying is I can't possibly know what men are experiencing in relationships, but you know all about women's experiences in relationships. The guys who are attracted to the red pill are obviously not going to be happy in their love lives. I think it's a mistake to think the relationships of those seeking out trp are representative of the norm. And if there's truth in sitcoms, then pretty much all men are bumbling, oafish, unattractive idiots with super hot, ambitious wives. So…

There are single women in the world. There are women stuck in boring sexless marriages. There are women who have a lot of fun dating. There are women who are forever going to be lonely. There are women who live happily ever after in amazing marriages. Of course this happens to men too. I don't know where this "every man is miserable" thing comes from. I don't see in my friends and family a bunch of horribly lonely men nor hordes of men stuck in sexless relationships. The only place I see it to a…

In my experience, the Bobs and Jims and Phils of the world are doing alright in the relationship department. Sure, some are going to be single for life, but the majority get on with dating and sex and relationships like humans tend to do. I don't know where this idea of only the top 5% of guys are getting all the women in the world and the 95% left are forever alone. All you have to do is look at your average suburban neighborhood to see it's mainly made up of plain old average people coupled up…

I was asking YOU about YOUR opinions though. Are your friendships based just on what you can get out of them?

I just asked a question since I don't understand your meaning of friendship.

I think it's interesting that men have held such powerful positions for so long (political leaders, heads of business, land owners, military, law enforcement, etc.) yet relationships are something RP guys seem to feel so powerless about. It's because women are tricksy liars. They've been lied to by feminists. Everything is too PC and SJW-y these days. They didn't have a good example set by their parents. TV sitcoms show schlubby dads bowing down to their hot, annoying wives. Anything that takes …

Are your friendships based solely on what you can get out of it? If so, I think that's pretty abnormal. If you're like most people who have friends they can have fun with, talk to, and help/get help from, there's no reason someone of the same sex can't fill that role.

I don't know how one could infer any differently when you said equality = bad things happen. But ok, cheers.

Because after talking to people who like it and reading about why people like it they don't usually think anything is wrong on a very basic level. This is sometimes their first foray into any kind of alternative sexual behavior, and I find that sad. This isn't a healthy bdsm relationship but it's being presented as one. I don't think it should be banned and I haven't heard anyone say that. I don't see the harm in telling the people who like it that it's not a good portrayal of kink and they'd be…

It's a big leap from normal, flawed relationship to abusive relationship. There should not be this kind of abuse in any relationship. I find it pretty sad that women are eating this poorly written tale about romanticized abuse and not realizing there's anything wrong with their relationship dynamic. Same thing happened with Twilight.

It's not the depiction of sex, it's the depiction of their relationship. Maybe it's because I don't know any of "those" feminists, but feminists I know seem to be more open and accepting of sex and porn in all forms, including bdsm. It's simply the abusive, unhealthy relationship that's portrayed in 50 Shades. I totally agree that female sexuality in fiction should be portrayed positively, but 50 Shades of Grey is absolutely not an example of that. I read the first book but could hardly make it …

That still doesn't come off as very self improvement-y. Actually that sub reads more like a bunch of cult members thanking their leader, very eerie for some reason.
