That's a bummer. Everyone else is correctly saying what went wrong. Good news is now your tested, so next time you'll be good to go. Just keep a pic on your phone or something. And make sure she's tested or you wrap it up, just cause it looks ok doesn't mean it's safe

Good fragrance, bad reputation. It's unfortunate.

What climate do you live in? Looking for evening wear / date night, or something you can wear to the office and gym too? Looking for an all-in-one fragrance, or are you ok owning a few to fill different roles?

I also think it's relevant that the last 20 years we have seen an exponential up-tick in physical attractiveness across the board from a combination of fitness culture and novel medications. Just 5-10 years ago I remember gyms being less crowded and most people weren't daily grinders if they went at all. Nowadays it feels like everyone is going to the gym, counting calories, or popping ozempic. That means 1) you're going to face tougher competition in that category. 2) you'll face higher standar…

I'm 5' 9" too. That guy was 6'. We gotta be real with ourselves man. Not saying simp, but also don't deliberately shoot yourself in the foot 😅 I realize delivery is impossible to gauge via text, but I'd also say MAX of 1 "my mom" joke during an approach. You don't want her thinking you're serious lol Edit to add: comparison is the thief of joy. The sooner you drop "the other guy x/y/z" mindset the better off you'll be

Travel if you can! Meeting women shouldn't be the core purpose, it should be to visit cities and countries that excite you, to expand your knowledge and appreciation for other cultures. But if you take the lessons of this sub with you and make approaches along the way you will meet some incredible women!

I disagree. You really shouldn't just start choking people without some sort of consent. I usually gently place my hand on her throat and give the slightest squeeze and let go, and quietly ask something along the lines of "are you into that/is that ok?" Now literally every time [for me] they've gotten giddy and started nodding their head. But they had the opportunity to say "No" if they didn't want to be choked, and it strengthens the trust between us. Also, I can't talk about choking without gi…

Meet people IRL doing activities that increase the likelihood of having shared interests/values/beliefs. Church, gym, hike, school, concert, competitive paintball, etc. you get the idea. Literally anything you enjoy, that involves other people, is going to probably be better than apps; unless you are a 10/10 with a dialed in profile, money, and a solid texting game.

Not sure how well you know the both of them and their situation, but implying he's her little brother, or she's doing the big sister program for him when he can hear would probably be a sure-fire way to get him so mad he blasts steam out of his ears lol.

Rhino's somment strays a bit too far into incel territory for me to fully stand behind it. However, I do believe there are elements of truth to what he said, and it is certainly possible to express sexual desire in a calm tempered fashion. Think about the suave men in the smut books women read, how would you describe them? Cool, calm and collected, but they know themselves, they know what they want, and they go after it without fear or hesitation. Now most of us can't just flip a switch and beco…

Try being a touch flirty with your regular daily interactions to get some practice. "Well don't you look lovely today 😊" as you pass the secretary at work who's all dolled up that day. "Jeez Brian, I didn't ask for a book report" as your friend yaps about the book he's been reading. Just be a bit edgy, but in a way that makes people smile and not feel self-conscious. Body language and intonation are important here to avoid being taken the wrong way. A gentle smile and light-hearted voice go a lo…

I'm sure you're better looking than you give yourself credit for, but if you are below average in looks, I hope you're funny. Looks are somewhat important, but what women are most concerned with (at least early on) is how you make them FEEL. They just want to have a good time, and if you're a total vibe killer and mopey they won't want to be around you. (Guys please don’t suggest me things like to find friends or family first, or just improve yourself and a right one will come into my life at th…

I mean.... If I'm getting in the pool I usually put my toe in the water before cannonballing. Body language, eye contact, and non-sexual touching exist. If a girl invites me over, I'm testing the proverbial water with completely innocent action to see what mood she's really in. This is a social adaptation to how women operate, I would much rather they just be straightforward, but that's not how they work most of the time.

Ding ding ding. It's fine to have preferences, but if other than height you are an all around solid guy and she can't see past that, she's doing you a favor. Would be a shitty relationship I promise.

I also like artsy girls. Girls who play music and paint and are into literature, who like going to museums. Girls who dress in a unique way. I don’t think they’re boring at all, I think they’re funny too. We may have different tastes in music venues, but I shouldn't have dissed your interests, I'm sorry. I respect you, and u/jggonzales-cs for keeping it real. Have a good night.

Is it that, or is it when you stop showing the characteristics that got you her in the first place, then she loses interest? In my experience that's what it usually is. Part of why everyone says "be yourself" because once you get tired of pretending to be someone else she'll start noticing.

Talk to her like a normal person. Don't become a "friend", but get to know her enough to be on a first name basis and discuss interests, weekend plans etc. Find something you have in common, make plans to do it by yourself, or with some OTHER friends, and invite her to come with. If she says yes then it comes down to your skills.

No, you eat the right things which is much harder than just not eating at all. Then you go to the gym for 60-90 minutes at least 5 days a week. Then you keep doing that for years, it isn't a "diet" or a "program" it's a lifestyle. That is how you get fit and attractive, but you are correct that most people can do this yet choose not to.

It could be something other than your looks. I know if I were on a date with a hot woman and she started calling herself part of "the top 99.9999%", and "far above anyone she has encountered"; I would nope the fuck outta there because she is clearly an insecure yet somehow narcissistic mess. I'm not trying to attack you, just show that nobody is perfect and massive character flaws are both harder to notice in yourself and more concerning to others than your looks. I hope things get better for yo…

My favorite genres in no particular order are: Historical non-fiction, science fiction, fantasy, and philosophy. I've been reading "Ordinary Men" by Christopher Browning lately, and would give a cautious recommendation. Not exactly a "date conversation" book since its recount of the Holocaust is absolutely gut* wrenching, but I think it gives a perspective on our immense capacity for evil that most people refuse to acknowledge. As for sci fi and fantasy, if you haven't read Ender's Game, Lord of…

Reading is such a good (and underrated) activity. You expand your vocabulary, which is something that will really separate you from some of the vapid guys that congregate to dating apps. You can do it anywhere and for super cheap. Then, if you run out of things to talk about talking about an (actually interesting) book you've been reading can make a great conversation.

The mental gymnastics you have to do to straw man my argument like that must give you a headache. I am by no means saying having a mental disorder makes you evil. Someone isn't a pedophile until they try to be sexual with a child, and I am calling those people evil, do you disagree, yes or no? Then I am saying being attracted to children is abnormal behavior and is therefore a mental disorder. I am done dealing with you pedophile apologists I can feel brain cells dying the more I read the mindle…

Just to clarify, you're on the side of the pedophiles here? Pretty much every evil person in history had a mental disorder, they don't get to use it as a shield to hide from the consequences of their actions. What are you even talking about?

My guess is most pedophiles had a very disfunctional childhood and some combination of events and underlying character traits result in their disgustingly warped sexuality. I disagree with the notion people are born pedophiles simply because I don't think anyone is born evil.

I think many if not most divorces work out equitably, but there are absolutely unfair rulings, and the issue is those almost always favor the women.

Exactly, it's a very fine line between supporting men standing up for themselves when attacked by women, and men using unwarranted amounts of force, making themselves the bad guys. Gender doesn't matter, if another guy threw water in my face and I put him in the hospital over it I would legally become the primary aggressor, and possibly arrested.

I am by no means an expert on the subject, but my understanding is essentially: the original was talking about the 'myth' or 'concept' of womanhood/manhood. But in the H.M Parshley translation, he made it sound like it was referring to actual men and women. I really suggest reading more about it as it's quite interesting how this 'publishing error' drastically altered our current social and political climate. London review

I'm not going to reply to everyone who attempts to pass off this fallacy as a legitimate argument. This was my response to another redditor who said the same thing in this thread. "I am aware of that, which is why you look at the context to determine the validity of the claim. I am aware of that, which is why you look at the context to determine the validity of the claim. We have about 200,000 years of evidence that gender and sex are the same thing, and your chromosomes determine your gender. Meanwhile we have about 70 years of neo-marxist ramblings stemming from a mistranslation of Simone de Beauvoir to justify the concept that people can pick their genders. This leads me to believe that gender is biological, and it's fine if you want to disagree and present contrar…

Hot-take, but I think that's a consequence of making prostitution illegal. If you could go to the local brothel and pay $100 for a BJ, why would you Venmo random chicks on the internet hoping you might get some action? I'm not saying we should/shouldn't legislate prostitution, just that the transaction of "sex for money" is such a natural phenomenon that when taught to use currency capuchin monkeys will pay for sex. And making something illegal doesn't remove the demand.

I agree with you actually (bring on the downvotes) another unintended consequence is women who have falsely accused men are significantly less likely to come forward to clear his name if the punishment is incredibly harsh. Edit to add: There should of course be serious consequences, how severe they should be is the question.

Unfortunately tougher sentences mean women are less likely to come clean about false allegations, meaning more men wrongly in prison. We should just actually investigate and not charge *men with crimes, if there isn't enough evidence
