I believe the only way out is if you have an illness that makes you ineligible to serve (cancer, organ issues, epilepsy, anything severe where you spend a large amount of time going to a hospital for treatment, etc.). If you are perfectly healthy, they make you sign up.

When I worked at McDonalds, I used to carry a pocket knife that was just small enough for me to not need a conceal/carry but large enough for me to be able to defend myself from an attacker. A lot of my coworkers did too, and this was in a good area of town.

It's no more cruel than what they did to that little girl. If you can deal it out, you had better be able to take it. As far as the executioner, have multiple people involved. The rape and torture can be another inmate (like one from a rival gang) that the guards can lock into a room in a secluded location (something like a solitary cell would work). After that take them to the execution room and have the executioner give the finishing blows. Then again, I'm not from Canada, so I don't even know…

Call me inhumane all you want, but scum like her don't deserve to breath. Her and her accomplice should be sentenced to death and die THE SAME WAY their victims do. Maybe then as they are lying there in pain begging for death as they are tortured/raped/killed they will see what they have truely done to those innocent people. Not really a PPD. She wasn't really using her being a woman as an excuse to be rude, she was just upset that they wouldn't cut her hair, but from the post she doesn't really seem to be acting like too big of an asshole. Honestly doesn't seem any more annoying than any other facebook post.

I don't know all of the details on this case, but if it did result in sex (I know it didn't since it was a false accusation, but lets say for a moment that this did happen), wouldn't that make her a pedophile and statutory rapist? Sadly, they most likely were not only looking at a minimum of 5-15 but also probably would have ended up in financial ruin for years to come, as well as difficulty in finding any future jobs and housing.
