2	Rape Shield Laws and False Convictions: A rape shield law prevented Mike Tyson’s counsel from introducing evidence of prior false accusations, which could have demonstrated to the jury that the woman had a history of lying about sexual encounters. The idea is that false accusations made in the past have no bearing on whether this accusation is true. ...The same can be applied to the accused, in that their past "womanizing" has no bearing on whether they've raped someone, but isn't.
