No. Also, a parent does not really have to demand child support. That is, a judge can disapprove a child custody/support order if they believe it’s not best for the child. There are situations where they let it go with no child support, but those are not the normal thing.

I'm not confident about that. They normally only lower the price of the portions of the fare uber drivers get paid from. Now, Uber does still take a cut... but, they also have other fees they get 100% of. So, if they're getting $1 per trip plus 20-28% of the remaining fees, and the average trip goes from costing $8 to $7.50... Completely possible Uber makes it up in volume while the driver is the one working more for less money.

I think because of the whole situation. Lawyer here... To answer your question, a charge as a child is thought of as not really being criminal. It's basically thought of as the child is out of control and the state needs to step in because the parents cannot handle them. That is why the records are expunged and why the sentences are much lighter. It's a family law judge that handles all of this in my state, both an actual juvinle trial, but also decides if it should go to an actual criminal court "to be tried as an adult".

I think you got confused there... Mens rea is only not required for statutory rape. Basically, there is typically only part of a crime that mens rea applies to. For rape, it is the physical contact. If you argue "I had sex with him but I thought he was 18", then you are are admitting to the mens rea element, and the only thing left is the age... i had received den leader training several years ago, and at least part of it was the importance of never leaving one adult alone with the children. This was explained from a liability aspect as not wanting false accusations and this being discouraged by always having two or more adults around the kids. But, yes...
