Fellow Canadian chiming in! I've had quite a similar experience, most girls come to Scouts because Guides is basic to the point of being insulting. I've had girls in my group since cubs, and I finished the venturer program in june. I certainly disliked some, but they were never given preferential treatment.

Even if a man doesn't get sentenced, the fact that he was accused in the first place can ruin his life because everyone knows he was "the guy that was accused of rape".
