This depends heavily on context. If you're talking about like facebooking a girl you met at a bar or something, you have to be really careful. General advice tends to be along the lines of keeping it short, sweet, and only to set up a face to face experience. Don't have long drawn out conversations online where it is harder to build attraction because you miss out on eye contact, kino, ect. that would be part of the infinitely more effective face to face interaction. It also tends to be somewhat…

I advise against doing it if at all possible. If and probably when shit goes sour, it's going to make the workplace awkward. It could also lead to other problems with your job in regard to the management.

I wrote something like this a couple days ago about myself... I share a lot of the same feelings as you do bro.

I think he's more or less looking for advice about talking to someone when you're walking the opposite way and crossing by them. Not advice for a specific setting. You'll look at them when they're passing, they'll smile or something, then he doesn't know what to do from there since it seems awkward to turn around and walk with them or stop them from getting where they're going. I've had a bit of a problem with this too since it really does seem unnatural if both of you have places to go.

Correct, classical conditioning involves the presence of two stimuli. One stimuli is neutral, the other is something of significance. By presenting the neutral stimulus with the one of the significance, you can train a certain natural response to the neutral stimulus because it becomes associated with the one of importance. Not sure how well Pavlov can be used to reinforce approach behavior because an HB is anything but a neutral stimulus. lol

I basically suggested a reward system since he's beating himself up over it. Seemingly wanting someone to punish him for not approaching. Which isn't healthy. Honestly, girls should be a good enough reward and once he gets over his AA it probably will be. I think it's more or less getting past the initial barrier that requires some extra motivation. Some guys find that in not wanting to be an AFC anymore, others might need some other kind of boost I guess. Either way, his current train of though…

There are two ways to reinforce behavior: -Punishment - Which you described, is actually less effective. Killing yourself or having someone kill you is irrational and disproportionate. Stop thinking this. It's actually hurting your confidence. -Reward - Which is actually more effective and makes you WANT to do something. The catch is that your drive actually goes down when the ability to gain a reward for doing something is no longer present, but you can always reward yourself. If the reward of …

I, personally, don't think it's rude because you actually acknowledged HB4's existence. (Is there even such a thing as an HB4?!? idk if I'd call anyone falling in the 4 range a "hot babe") What else would you have done? Not asked HB8 for her number? Asked HB4 for her number too? Neither of those sound like good solutions to me. I think what you did was fine.

I completely agree that they should make it known beforehand to clear up any misconceptions. Having live music played for you isn't nearly as typical as going to a restaurant so it's not common knowledge like waiter/bartender tipping. It's hard to know what kind of arrangement the guy had with the bar owners. He totally could have just been out to screw people out of cash when he was already being paid adequately. It's entirely understandable to be confused about if you have to tip or how much. …

You sat there and listened to his music. You were not explicitly obligated to tip him. But socially, you're expected to reciprocate. It's human nature to expect something in return when you provide a service. By listening to his music without paying any sort of fee outside of the drinks you bought, you entered into an implicit social contract. Did the bar charge a cover that went toward the music? Did it explicitly say anywhere that the musician was taking any sort of cut from the drink sales? I…

I'm going to apologize in advance for this potentially coming off harsh. I think you made yourself look cheap and selfish even without him saying anything to your date. This has nothing to do with being alpha or beta. He emphasized it to your date because you offended him. It's more or less social karma. You reap what you sow. I'm not even talking about bullshit nice guy social karma where you expect someone is going to sleep with you because you're holding their purse. I'm talking like reciproc…

I can vouch for the Italian dressing marinated chicken breast. I was going to put that on here as advice earlier actually. It's really good. Easy to make too. You can also do quite a few different things with it outside of what is listed above. Be creative with it. A bit of life advice I'd offer here is that you should experiment with making all different kinds of food outside of dinner dates at your place. If you love food you might find yourself a new, rather impressive and useful, hobby. You'…

It's not about nice guys, it's about "nice guys" You know, the kind that are being nice in a manipulative way. They expect something in return for what they're doing, but end up burying themselves deep in the friend zone and can't understand why their brand of nice doesn't peel the panties. There isn't anything wrong with being nice. It's possible and perfectly acceptable to be genuinely nice. It's when you turn yourself into a manipulative bitch with a nice guy guise that it's a problem. It's m…

This is exactly why I started reading this. Had a few huge failures recently and heard about this place. I'm slowly realizing the things I've been doing wrong all these years. I've also been pretty damn oblivious to stuff. I want to improve myself by being more outgoing and holding conversations better. A lot of the stuff I'm learning here helps with talking to people in general, not just with the intent of getting girls in the sack. I actually feel less socially awkward even with people I've kn…
