Regardless of gender, it's still an extraordinary claim, a much bigger claim than the oft-questioned 1 in 4 statistic of female sexual assault. By saying "most", this is claiming that over 1 in 2 men experience sexual assault as their first sexual encounter. A claim that explosive in scope needs a bit more evidence than a tweet.

The statute of limitations varies from place to place, OP may not have a few years. ie: here in Australia Unfair/Unlawful Dismissal paperwork needs to be filed within the first 21 days, although wage claims can be up to 7 years.

I agree with you, I see the whole debacle as a really overblown non-issue. I've seen the argument from some that it's a requirement for men to take up more than one seat because genitals, but it just doesn't fly with me. Purses, bags etc on seats is a far bigger space issue.

I suspect that it's less about space and more about men not having their legs at anything more than completely clammed shut. You're correct, having legs open at an acute angle does not take up more than one seat, and many of the "manspread" shaming pictures support that.

Nope, from the list of benefits and supplements quoted, it would be the same amount for a male in the same situation. It's worth pointing out that this list is the extreme end of the welfare system here in Australia. It assumes a full-time study load with kids in 40 weeks of daycare per year, as well as some kind of pension. Terrance Popp recently discussed these scenarios in his discussion with AVFM and Honey Badgers. His basic advice: don't leave the house, don't agree to an interim custody arrangement if you have any kids together, liquidate assets and have documented proof of her threats. Considering that you are a vet, I think it would be a great idea to seek out Popp yourself as this is his speciality.

I would say that it's both a double standard and needless exaggeration... For me, it's really about picking your battles and there is little to be gained for harping on these double standards because it's a no win argument. If you highlight the double standard and claim objectification, you're accused of playing the victim. If you highlight the double standard and use it as a reason to suggest that this kind of advertising from the other side of the gender divide is no big deal you'll be accused…

There was a case here in Australia in the past few years where a male teacher who started a relationship with a former student long after she had left the school and was an adult (in her 20's IIRC). They filmed some amateur porn that got out on the internet. When it became public knowledge he lost his job and garnered nationwide attention. I think it's a fair call to say things would be different with genders reversed.

It seems a rather common thread that these articles make assertions of how the sub feels and never links to what affronted them so. Personally, I've never seen anyone on TRP assert that they have the right to sex with the woman of their choosing. Perhaps I haven't delved far enough into the comments, but if someone would actually link to one of these comments (one that hasn't been down voted to oblivion by the community), it would be great.

I think you are misinterpreting what the PP nurse is saying. In this situation she is actually decreasing the rape statistics, because she is not telling the girl to lie about a rape as a silver bullet, but she is telling the girl who the father was to stop him being arrested for rape. If the story that the girl was telling was true (13 year old girl pregnant to a 31 year old man), it would be statutory rape.

Slate did a good piece on how heavily these videos have been edited. Forgive me if I have misinterpreted your title as inferring something that you aren't. From the way you have framed your thread title, it seems to suggest that Planned Parenthood are encouraging women to report consensual acts as rape, where the reality of the clip was a Planned Parenthood worker advising a minor not to report a rape. Both are unacceptable situations, clearly.

Yep, I completely agree. The ad really spoke to me as a dad of a 3 year old girl. It's easy to assert that convictions after 40 years help no-one, but having seen some of the recent outpouring of relief and closure coming from middle aged men that were abused by Catholic priests and nuns decades ago during the ongoing Royal Commission into child abuse here in Australia...
