Then at least you'll know the answer. You really really really don't want to go through life wondering "what might have been". Believe me. I've been there too.

If he likes you & is too shy to start a conversation, he would absolutely love for you to talk to him. Believe me. I've been there.

I'm 5'9" and dating in college for me was amazing. Of course, I was gorgeous. More importantly, I had the confidence of someone who knew he was gorgeous.

You're still in your youth. Everyone has a different path, this is yours. The worst thing you can do is screw up the present by obsesing over the past.

Getting approached by a woman was 10x more likely before smartphones & internet dating sites existed. edit: your competition used to be limited to guys who'd asked them out recently, now it's any guy they've seen a pic of on tinder

Rome's major airport I assume any big international airport has hotels that flight crews from all over are known to frequent. If they're near home, they go home. But they often aren't near home, so they stay together in hotels. You better hsve a private room because they won't.

Stayed at the same hotel the Lufthansa flight attendants use near FCO (maybe other airlines too, but I only met Lufthansa). From my limited experience, meeting at the hotel bar when they're unwinding (or, in my case, meeting in the airport shuttle then again later at the bar) beats the hell out of trying to chat them up at the airport.

Call it "able to defend himself & others" then. There's a difference between being peaceful & being harmless. A peaceful man chooses not to be violent but can change if need be. A harmless man doesn't have a choice to make. A woman may dig the peaceful man, but she'll never dig the harmless one.

I can think of dozens of times a girl might have been interested & I failed to find out. And I can think of quite a few times when a girl was definitely interested & I failed to do anything about it. I regret most of them.

Is your name Romeo, by any chance? Seriously, telling someone you've known 3 days "I love you" is a red flag. I'd tell her "I like you, but you're moving way too fast. We don't know each other well enough yet."

For someone who looked like I did 25 years ago operating free of the distractions of current technology, about 70% success rate. Though I would always introduce myself first & use their response/body language to gauge interest. For someone who looks like me now operating in our current environment, gonna guess not so high.

In online dating, you'll deal with most women having a height cutoff. But with those who don't you automatically know they don't have an issue with your height. In person, I think this is less of an issue. If they dig you, they dig you. How many women would turn down Tom Holland because he's not 5'10"?

As I've said before women often give advice from the mindset of "How would I like guys I'm not interested in to act?" It's understandable but it sure as hell makes for bad advice.

"They treat me like a fox, a cunning fellow of the first rank. But the truth is that with a gentleman I am always a gentleman and a half, and when I have to do with a pirate, I try to be a pirate and a half." If she knows who said it, marry her immediately.

Met a girl daydrinking on South Padre Island. She'd just been dumped. I left her ex a voicemail telling him what a great time she was having on Spring Break, then we went back to my condo & had sex. She stole my tshirt.

Don’t be fake, but you should be on your best behavior. There’s a difference. Better that someone learns your idiosyncrasies & quirks gradually over time rather than get smashed in the face with them on a first date. Your date is going to think you’re trying to behave regardless. So if you have too many rough edges she’ll think you must be an absolute nightmare when you aren’t trying.

Oddly, a lot of advice online is from the POV of “How would I like men I’m not interested in to act?” It kinda makes sense in that most women don’t want the kind of guy who asks online how to meet women, they want the guy who does it effortlessly. But what they really don’t want is for the former to pretend to be the latter.

In online dating, height matters a lot since women will set a minimum height & won't even see anyone under it. In person height matters to some women but not nearly as much. No one is turning down Brad Pitt because he's not 6'. Scott Caan is only 5', 5" and most women would gladly go out with him. Take care of the things you can control: stay in shape, dress well, and be interesting.

I think it's much much worse now, since so many use online dating & women will often have the sites automatically exclude anyone under an arbitrary number. If you're well dressed, take care of yourself & have some measure of charm most women won't get too worried about height in a guy they meet face to face. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how well you present yourself if you never get the chance to do so.

My advice applies, of course, to only the sort of Westernized women I've been around. I did know a Muslim girl in college who dated the same as everyone else, but she never told her parents about boyfriends.

If you try to kiss them while on a date? You lean in to kiss a girl & she'll either be into it or not. You're not trying to force a kiss on an unwilling victim. You're trying to kiss a girl you like in hopes she kisses back. If she doesn't kiss.you back, then it's over. If she doesn't seem receptive when you try to kiss her, it's over. Just try to read her demeanor & body language. Again, the goal is to find out if she's interested in dating you. So you'll need to learn to read people a bit.

My advice: just ask her out on a date, make sure she knows it's a date not 2 friends just hanging out. You pick the place, you plan on paying. At some point, kiss her. If she's into you, she'll make it known. If she's not, she'll make it known. That's the goal, to find out if she's into you. If she's not interested, don't try to change her mind. You can't negotiate desire. Thank her for her time & drop it. Then go find someone who is interested. Not every girl will be interested in you. Maybe ev…

Don't become someone's friend with the intent of making it romantic later. It will lead to you overinvesting in someone who may never see you that way. If you're interested in dating, make that known from the start. You can be interested in someone sexually without it being you "only want her body". Find out right away if she sees you as a possible romantic partner. If not, at least you know the answer with a minimum of time spent. If you decide to be her friend instead then actually be a friend…

20 years from now, are you going to fucking hate yourself for not giving it everything you have? Is the reward commensurate with the risk? (if you succeed, are you set for life?) If the answer to both of these is YES, then go for it. Most people are haunted more by the opportunities they let slip than by the ones they reach for.
