Yes this past year was borderline useless, which is why I restarted my OYS last week. Lift wise I was going to the gym consistently but not taking the goal seriously - passive lifts at the gym and not eating enough calories (though making protein targets). Now I’m focused on calories and having actual hard workouts so I actually gain weight and strength. Any advice you have on gaining muscle is appreciated

OYS #5 Stats: 36 yo, 6’0”, 169 (+2) lbs, Married 6 years, 2 kids under 5 Mission: To lead my family; set and achieve goals through hard work and instill the same life approach in my children. Read: No More Mr. Nice Guy Finished reading NMMNG as I had planned, but did not do the 3-5 exercises that I intended. Will do so this week. Lifts/Exercise: Deload week so no change - (All ~2x12) Sq 125 lbs (knee issue), BP 85 lbs, BR 95 lbs. Diet: ~170-180g protein per day. Deload week so didn’t lift but di…

Fair point. I should have added “too incongruent the rest of the time right now to effectively change this dynamic.” And also good push that I can improve here simultaneously, avoiding it is my nice guy showing up.

Kettlebells - 15 minutes. Agreed on lifting and eating, I went to the gym this week for the first time in over a decade. Lifts were atrocious and it was the first time I’ve done a few of them but will post in next OYS to track. I realize now posting my wife’s plans didn’t make sense. Since I have two little kids it was meant to show that there’s two nights that I can’t go out because I have to watch the kids, but that’s stupid. Overall my socialness is weak and needs more effort from me, I don’t…
