Please provide a quoted example of the hateful rhetoric in question. Thank you.

Are you doing a bit? Are you saying Conservatives can't be systemic? What are you saying in plain words?

I don't think it's covert at all. I think it's just ingrained. As a child, on Friday you learn about legal measures against FGM, on Sunday they say you must be 'circumcised' to be clean. The sole difference is sex.

Why would patriarchy not be patriarchy if women like it?

It's generally true. It is true across most creeds, ideologies, and political affiliations. The pressure to leave up to male stereotypes is most visible when a woman is in danger or incovinenced. From providing seating to providing financial initiatives in romance to risking life and limb. If a woman stands while men sit, the men are criticised, even if other women are seated as well. If a man would like to be asked out and have a date paid for, he's critiqued. The MOST obvious, in spite of most…

I understand what the video says about neglect. I agree. I disagree with what the video says about violence. In my experience, men are more likely to suffer violence and statistically more likely to be killed worldwide. How can you pay more attention to boys and not acknowledge the violence? And that's the issue. If one of the main problems facing men and boys is violence, but women's call to arm is violence against women, what are they going to do? They'd acknowledge boys to prevent harm agains…

I watched the video. That is mostly what it has to say. The problem is that they only care when women suffer. That's what makes it such a problem. In the most misogynistic countries in the world, men are STILL more likely to be murdered. Men often experience violence far before women. Men suffer MORE violence in a society that failed them than women. Anytime it's parroted that women are the main victims of male suffering instead of the actual people suffering, it empowers Jamie's point. Violence…

The feminist patriarchy argument exists, but patriarchy itself doesn't. Not really. At the very least, that is my belief. I want to meet someone who believes otherwise but also believes in equality to see how conflicting ideologies are resolved. I want to know what's going through their heads as they say men control society, but women built feminism. Is feminism separate from society? Did they get a patriarchal approval form for feminism? How do their ideologies work? What are YOU talking about?…

I acknowledge its use. I don't particularly believe in the phenomenon, but it is folly to dismiss what they say because you don't think it true. If tomorrow, the only 'cure' for patriarchy is murder I'd rather see the signs today. That's why I want to talk to those who truly believe.

I don't consider the term patriarchy a particularly reasonable one. My understanding of what people refer to as patriarchy. A ubiquitous social phenomenon by and for men that advances their hierarchy at the detriment of women.

I want someone who really believes in patriarchy and patriarchal systems to tell me what it means, what it entails, and how it's actually helping.

One of the most obvious barriers to gender equality is language. Patriarchy, toxic masculinity, and other such negative language brings in only the worst of men. I believe a number of gender equality activists that use language like that are aware that it's off-putting to men. They use it anyway to gaslight. To pretend an olive branch was offered. That way, through 'no fault of their own', most men just seem uninterested in equality. Internalised misandry is a thoughtful and accurate alternative…

Toxic masculinity for men. Internalised misogyny for women. What could possibly justify the difference in terminology?

Can you imagine an elected official asking why they have to carry the burden of making their citizens happy? Why should society make sure its members are happy type of questions are devoid of empathy.

This is just my experience and may have nothing to do with him, but I've not yet met anyone in a good place that says they don't need/want friends. Maybe he is genuinely just built differently.

If it were not an insult, put down, or derogatory, people would care less. But I'd still be a problem for straight people. More difficulty getting dates. Having to reassure your partner they aren't a beard or get harassed by them. It's not as simple as "looking gay," which is discriminatory in and of itself.

Destigmatise what? Male friendship? Homophobia?

Some spouses. Both my parents have friends so close that their friends' kids are 'basically' cousins to me and my siblings. My mom's friend lived about 20 minutes away. Dad's friend was in another country. Dad has no apparent problem with this. Mom says if they were in the same country, they'd* think they were gay. They being my mom and my dad's friend's wife.
