That doesn't sound like being honest with partners. It sounds like being terrified of genuine communication, and resorting to a temper tantrum silent treatment if you don't get your way after asking once. Not sure about that, but it's entirely possible to come from a dysfunctional or abusive home and to have that lead to recognizing and rejecting the very blatant advocation of emotional abuse coming from TRP and certain PUA forums.
