People who say “let’s go girls!” aren’t feminists, they are morons. Feminism isn’t about that.

Tbh you just sound like a feminist with a brain. There are extremists and morons in every community, wanting equality for the good of both sexes is actually the whole point of feminism when it’s done right.

I can’t be bothered to argue with you. Wrong as you are you’re clearly not capable of reason and I am not the fuckwit whisperer.

That’s a lot of words to say “I’m a virgin”

So suicide prevention for men should also focus on girls and women who self harm then?

When women try to leave violent men, those men kill them. Refuges are there to create a space where women can hide and be safe from the men who would kill them. Male victims of DV exist, of course, and moderate injury is also serious, of course. But those are matters for police and social services which are publicly funded. Refuges are not and are drastically few and far between. If you want refuges to be for more than people running from their would-be murderers then great. But at the moment th…

So what’s the issue with support specifically being aimed at women “staying safe”? Male victims of DV aren’t at anywhere near as much physical risk.

“When severe aggression has been perpetrated (e.g., punching, kicking, using a weapon), rates of injury are much higher among female victims than male victims, and those injuries are more likely to be life-threatening and require a visit to an emergency room or hospital. However, when mild-to-moderate aggression is perpetrated (e.g., shoving, pushing, slapping), men and women tend to report similar rates of injury.” So yeah. I read it.

How many men are killed every week by current or ex partners, I forget.

Could you be a bit more specific in terms of “don’t practice what they preach” and “average MRA is a better feminist” please?

I think we’re basically saying the same thing. Most perceived gender differences are nurtural not natural - girls are taught to multitask from a young age so it’s no great shock that women on average are better at it (if they even are, I don’t know) Rather than engaging in the purported man-bashing by woman-bashing why don’t we just aim to avoid general statements altogether? As far as I can tell there aren’t any massive cognitive differences between males and females naturally but there are obv…

I’ve heard arguments about voting and conscription and there is probably some point to be made there but that is not at all the only issue. Women weren’t allowed to be educated or publish books, women were banned from all public life. It was enshrined in law that a man could beat and rape his wife. These things have changed now and that’s a very very good thing.

Couldn’t agree more. Imagine if incels had that sort of power and influence...real feminists are freaking out rn. We are SO powerless. We can’t even have meetings without bomb threats and protests. Liberal feminism is OBSESSED with trans rights and it is just so sexist.

I think we’re all waiting for them to fall apart in their own contradictions. That said, while they’re all busy harassing women and kissing each other’s arses the rest of the grown ups can talk. Part of that is that actual sex based and sex-related rights need to be addressed. There is a mentality of “us vs them” in both camps which is thoroughly unhelpful. Feminism is not the enemy of men, it is social insistence on compulsory masculinity for men that is the cause of pretty much all men’s issue…

That is “liberal feminism”. I agree that it is bullshit. One of the biggest issues in feminism at the moment actually is biology denial from the far left who insist that anyone who adheres to sexist gender norms of femininity is a woman. Radical/Gender Critical feminism is fighting that. It affects men just as much. You’re only listening to the people who are shouting. That is the same as calling you an incel for being an MRA. It’s literally not the same thing.

Well that is demonstrably false.

And that is entirely your prerogative. If it IS your child, you have to think of him or her as a totally separate entity from her. Whatever happens between the two of you, the kid definitely didn’t ask for any of it. That said my money is on it being a lie. I would refrain from freaking out until you know for certain and just be like a professional about it.

Well I’ve only just noticed that the men’s rights movement is the same as the feminist movement and that’s why I’m here! I have two sons and the world is definitely harder for them than it is for girls. Girls are encouraged to nurture those good and helpful traits that old school 50s sexism said were only for boys but the same is SO not true the other way around. It bothers me every day.

Honestly depends on the kind of feminism. In the same way as feminists shouldn’t lump MRAs with incels, MRAs shouldn’t lump liberal and radical feminists in together. Liberal feminists are the ones with the loudest voices and stupidest ideas (eg “woman” is a feeling). Seems like everyone would be better off if masculinity and femininity were disengaged from men and women respectively and children weren’t raised as if they were compulsory.

Facebook bots will ban you if you make statements about men or trans people. There aren’t any automatic bans for statements about women. That doesn’t make the former ok necessarily but it is ridiculous how much woman hating can happen and be let go.

Any sexist bias or acceptance of societal gender roles is not feminism. “Liberal Feminism” is just children screaming about their wokeness, real feminists want an end to all gender roles. There’s a shocking amount of overlap between gc feminism and men’s rights. I’m really interested as to why they aren’t working together more...probably because nobody looks over the fence to realise the fence is an illusion.

If you’ve been using condoms and haven’t had any malfunctions then literally 99% she isn’t pregnant or it isn’t yours. My guess is the former. Did she know the relationship was coming to an end? Could VERY easily be a tactic to make you stay plus ofc if she’s already pregnant why use protection now... Get her to do a test with you there and deffo get a paternity test. If she is pregnant and you are the father then you do need to just make the best of it. It might even end up being a good thing. …

At the moment there isn’t any policing of anti-women hate speech so it’s good that’s being addressed. Not sure why there is a need to address any form of hate speech more or less “aggressively” than any other...nor why “aggressiveness” is the measure in the first place!

I’d want to read the judgements before forming an opinion tbh.

Ok you’ll need to elaborate a bit on the story then. How did it happen?

If the story of how she got pregnant was not the standard “had unprotected sex and thought hope would work as a contraceptive/didn’t think pregnancy would be my problem” then I apologise. Otherwise take responsibility because if this pregnancy is a consequence of your actions as well as hers you both have a responsibility to get on with it.

Cos that’s how all unplanned pregnancies happen of course.

If you didn’t want her to get pregnant you should have taken precautions. Live with the consequences.

It’s a fair question - children aren’t taught about issues that men face (which itself is one of the issues that men face...) so you could take it in good faith and answer genuinely.

Cross purposes. Both correct. Fewer women commit violent crimes so there are fewer female prisoners but individually, a man and a woman committing equivalent crimes the man gets a longer sentence. This isn’t really an argument, they’re just saying different things.

Tbf any opinion of a whole group is going to be inaccurate. Not all men and not all women and not all feminists and not all MRAs and not all incels etc etc. There will always be good and reasonable people and misguided people and good people and all other types of people. Blanket statements will never be true unless they are tautological. Everyone needs to chill a bit.
/r/MensRights23/11/20 03:28 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
