GM is going to regret this I have limited economic experience but this has happened before in the early mid 2k i believe. When the economy eventually recesses, gas prices shoot up and demand for smaller vehicles returns it may not bode well. Electric vehicles are still expensive/ugly(the middle class ones) American consumers are fickle, and unless GM has some sexy electric vehicles up there sleeve, this may hurt them in the long run.
