I stated a fact. Dude was married for 4 years hid said asset. Divorced 8 months ago. Its obvious you don't know what discovery is in the US court process. Substantively, go copy and paste somewhere else.

Funny coming from a person with no post history.

hate to say it she is entitled to it. The will was executed so it becomes "your stuff" and in marriage all assets are shared. I don't know what the divorce settlement was. Its going to be up to a judge to decide that.

OP post history is pretty wild.

Get a family lawyer and get your kids a lawyer. Everything that you have done that your wife doesn't approve of will be magnified 10 fold. CPS can and will search your house without a warrant. They will dig up everything from when they were born to their current age-just by here say and a little coaching. They will interview their teachers, bus drivers, friends, and family. Get your ducks in a row.

nope, she will most likely do a quick deed claim after she refinances. Leaving you to no claim to any money.

Man of taste going to see Modest Mouse. I took my son to his first show with his best friend, booked a hotel, and went on a road trip. Its one of those nice enjoyable times where the only time that scheduled is the concert. Cheers mate.

Don't leave the house. This can and will be used against OP. The logic is that if OP can leave the house, OP can afford to live on their own and afford the marital home.

I have no idea why I'm discussing this with a 1 month old account.

The article I linked to is a summation of "Dads can be happy after divorce" Which is the point of the post. Divorce sucks for the children, and parents. Co parenting is key, if that isn't in the case, just listen to what the children have to say. I will not try to strive to live in misery.

Glad you got out of the financial abuse. It is pretty eye opening when she controlled the finances and said, "We don't have enough", meanwhile getting a new a couple of outfits every week and eating out everyday. It is nice now to think that "power washer would be useful, I got a friend who has one-fuck it I'll buy it in cash"

The is the real question. Is your name listed on the birth certificate? If so you can fight for custody, the cost will be both financially and mentally high. Weigh your options.

At times I think this way as well. Nostalgia has twilight tint - tarnished with what could have been. Just remember, an intimate trust was not just broken but -betrayed. You miss the idea of your old life with the old her that you trusted. Thats the nostalgia drawing you in when in reality - she's a grown woman that cheated on you and can't manage her finances.

Even therapy is a hard route to navigate. It's tough for a kid being gaslit about their father and then the kids go to therapy. Wife talks to therapist about the kids session. Wife gets more info to further gaslight children. Its hard to be a good dad when when someone insists to the children that your bad.

Wtf no cargo pants or cargo shorts???? All joking aside,I still have stuff thats over 20 years old that I still wear. A part of me always will feel guilty for spending money on clothes for myself. I know I shouldn't because my stbxw had 20+ pair of shoes and boots and maxed out store cards from various clothing stores. You deserve it.

for more context my father had a will made out she would have gotten something out of it. She visited my father with our children and tried to needle her way to a larger share of his will. He ended up destroying the original will. (which she took me to court over) So I had to go through administrative probate - to which she is entitled nothing from my father's estate.

I was tragically lucky. My wife got the house and the equity with it. I know the house needs repairs, which she ignores wholly. My father took his life and i got his house. so I'm ok.

This is the way i take it. I would imagine you know her SS# and if you have a not so common last name. Its easier to track her-just in case she runs off with the kids or some shit. It is amazing what you can find out about somebody with a DOB and SS#.

Love your children the best you can and be the best parent that you can. Don't get anxious of the possibility of what could happen.

Its sounds like you have no lawyer. Get one. There are some services where a lawyer will represent you for pro bono. I dont know the entire context but a clever enemy will force a bad choice for you. All of those choices put you in a bind, but discuss with your lawyer what is the least you want and what is the most you want.

my stax filed a petition against me be causing I was menacing and harassing the kids. I thought I had to stay away from her and the kids. She also called cps on me. common tactic. I consulted the a lawyer which I later retained. lawyer told me if the judge didnt sign it you can still see your kids. trial came for family court, all the lawyers judge included new the examples she claimed did not meet the standards if menacing and harrasment.

get a lawyer, one that specializes in divorce, custody, and family court. if you know the divorce papers are coming. make arrangements to protect what you think is most valuable. example assets that you like but the other party doesnt care for. move them to another location. if you live in a party state for conversations record them. make copies of any deeds, financial records, and tax forms.
