I did learn and use PUA strategies with little to no success. Letting things happen worked for me, the strategy I would recommend is join a club, hobby or other social group to increase the opportunities for things happening.

Another problem is that some people will sometimes go for decades without anyone desiring them. Be that through inability or just bad luck, it does happen, and it happens more to men than to women. So they grasp at straws. Maybe I'm just need to be more persistant, maybe I can MAKE them desire me, maybe there are tricks to making uninterested women interested, etc. Probably not, probably you just have nobody in your social circle who wants you, but that is hard to accept, there must be SOMETHING…

I don't quite get what you mean by "banter", it seems to be very different from what I understand "banter" to be - which is playfully insulting each other. Is that what you're talking about?

Are you asking what insult I would use to cause maximum devastation or what insult I would use to keep it light and NOT cause maximum devastation?

Not only different experiences, different definitions even. What is a "nice guy"? That can be someone who keeps to themselves and doesn't bother people. That can be an extremely outgoing person who includes everyone in everything and is working hard everyone enjoys themselves. That can be someone who is just very polite. Does anyone online ever stop to ask: "So mister nice guy, what are you like? When you say 'gentleman' what do you mean? Give me a little example of like how you approached a wom…

Not conciously but yes. I think if you asked around "how important is confidence to you in a woman?" you get like shrugs and "yeah sure" and the feeling that men don't really care. But if they had to be with an unconfident woman, they would get very angry about how "clingy" she is, how "distrustful", how "stuck up". I don't think they'd use the words "no confidence" but they would be very displeased with it all the same.

And the women would be unaware of this technology and assume you're just wearing an XR headset to the club for style reasons? And what do you do when you get her? Do you keep the XR headset on through the entire relationship?

I don't. "Wow, what a wild story. So what do you do for a living?" Continue the date like nothing happened, and respond to the next invite with something like "Sorry, I didn't feel a lot of chemistry, good luck for the future."

Honestly, too risky. It's just a date, this person is still pretty much a stranger. Even if there's just a 5% chance that the allegations are true after all, there's no reason to risk it.

You can meet people by making small talk with the robber that broke into your house, but there's better and worse ways to make friends. Case in point. If you spot the loner at a work thing or a college thing, I may well approach that person. At a bar? Never.

Of course it's not phones specifically it's the abundance of digital entertainment. Whether consumed through phone, Xbox or desktop computer, the result is the same - you can stay in your room for months without getting bored. Then when depression rears it's ugly head you look around and you have no friends, because you haven't been making any 100%ing darkest dungeon new game +. No, you don't bother unsuspecting strangers. That's weird. How about this: Say 'yes' to the offers you already have. J…

Men have a hard time making friends because well... because you always on that damn phone. Entertainment is readily available at any time at the push of a button, so why would you go for after dinner drinks with your collegues? Or to the game? Or to the karate club? Or that poker table your cousin is doing? Or any other place you'd make friends? Stay home, watch another season of One Piece, I hear it gets good after the 7th. There is no secret to making friends, you just have to meet people, ANY…

The first one I'm not that interested in, that's not really passport bro-ing. So the second kind, the travelling kind, how does that work? Do you like take a 4 week vacation, have a 4 week relationship and leave again? Do you have long-distance relationships over the internet and then go visit? Do you have a job where you spend 6 months at a time in a new country? How does it work?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 10:01 AM

Are you dating women FROM there, or are you going there to date locals?

It's the best advice for the situation. Sure, online dating can be successful, or match-making, or hitting on strangers in bars, but less likely so than meeting people through friends. Okay, it hasn't worked for you, but what advice would you like us to give strangers online? Like, for real. What kind of advice are you hoping for, what would make you feel validated and your experience taken seriously?

Think of it like an RPG. If you put 50 into Strength and 50 into Wisdom and you demand a potential partner has at least 50 in Charisma, 20 in Strength and 30 in Intelligence that's fine. If you demand they have 200 in Charisma and 80 in Dexterity, it's unreasonable. It is of course very subjective IRL what is 30 Intelligence or 50 Strength but that's a different discussion. Like "Is being a non smoker worth being a good listener?", that's a different question, but if YOU don't think so YOU can't…

I think any standard you hold yourself to is reasonsble to expect of others. Maybe you're strict on yourself and others, maybe your forgiving on yourself and others both is fine. If you're forgiving of yourself but strict about others you're being unreasonable. Now of course it can't always be symmetrical, if you wanna be a housewife you can't be looking for men who want to be househusbands, that doesn't work, but in those cases you need to be putting as much effort into being a housewife as you…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 08:07 AM

No, it's a widening window. Like when you're 14, 2 years difference seems gigantic. You wouldn't even have a 12 year old friend. That's a baby. At 20 2 years difference is nothing, 4 years you sorta loose a lot of relatability. At 30 4 years is nothing. 8 years, hm yeah, feels like a different generation. At 80 I feel like 30 years is nothing, but I've never been 80.

Bit of a self report there mate. If you're like 20, I understand, of course a 20 year old still likes 16 year olds, they're only 4 years apart. But it stops. As you grow older they look more and more like children to you.

When was "Back in the day"? Not the 90s with almost twice the crime rate of today, right? Crime rates in NYC have consistently fallen since then, except during the pandemic, where they shot up and now they're falling again. Your facebook timeline is not an accurate depiction of rising and falling crime, just how many crime obsessed friends you have.

No, it's the reverse. Being hard on crime, feeds into crime. If mugging also gets you a death sentence why not murder the victim to eliminate the witness? Prison ruins your job prospects so once you get out, you're more likely to just do crime as a carreer. Soft-on-crime helps with that, like letting inmates do their GED or an aprenticeship, or a degree. Hard on crime makes it worse, by limiting job options for ex convicts. Long prison times makes boys grow up without fathers, putting more finan…

That's not really a definition. What makes South Africa oppression? The severity? The fact that is was the government doing it? That it was codified by law? That it was systemic? All of them?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/24 09:09 AM

Ah okay, do you mind defining those two words for me, perhaps this is just a semantic disagreement.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/24 08:58 AM

Legal and real are two different things. Drugs are illegal, yet drug users and dealers are very much real. In fact drug laws only exist BECAUSE drug users and dealers exist. But let me ask, do you think there is any oppression at all, of anyone, or any group within any country that has equal rights for everyone before the law?

Men also don't need movies, meat or music but it'd be quite an empty life.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/23 01:54 AM

Yeah, it's always like "Men and women aren't better or worse, just good at different things. Men are good at building civilizations, inventing technology, ruling nations, leading businesses, logic, war and ethics and women are good at listening."

"The sex is bad" just means "We are into different things". Which you can't teach away. If you like it ONLY rough and she likes it ONLY soft, you just settled both of you with a dissatisfying sex life.

Oh of course, it's always very vague. Which is why I think people like to focus on age, that's simple and clear. 25 is precisely 5 more than 20, or precisely 20%, or precisely 3 years below the allowed age for the [age]/2+7 formular. Whatever your standard is, you get a clear answer. But that's a rule of thumb at best, whatever your concern here is, be it majurity, financial dependence, or whatever age is just a rough approximation of it. But! I would argue, an approximation we use BECAUSE of th…

Is it? Where is the problem with this man-child (not meant as an insult) dates an 18 year old? I mean there is life experience to consider, maybe he just runs circles around the 18 year olds intellectually and can convince them of nigh everything, but the way you describe him I would say no, he can't do that. So what other problems do you see here?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/23 09:25 AM

My take is that it's more about life stages than numerical age, or that it should be. An 18 year old that is still in highschool, lives with their parents, has no income etc. is not like an 18 year old who's already in the work force or at college. A 24 year old with his own car and plce and income has a very similiar power dynamic, like a 34 year old. The actual age in numbers isn't that important. Because what we're worried about here is dependence. That a young girl will stay with a man who t…

When I said Lorde's boyfriend, I meant James Lowe, I wasn't aware they split up. And Jesse Plemons is NOT matched with Kirsten Dunst. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, but like by a 99% consensus, they are just not.

I would say the reciprocate at the same level as anyone else. In my life I have found little connection between who my type is and who's type I am.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/23 12:04 PM

It depends a lot on the job. I work in IT for a 700 employee company, and we look exactly like the stereotype, long haired, bearded men in band tshirts and cargo pants, the guys in in the more corporate departments of the same company are all clean shaves, dress shoes and suits. My favourite coworker (she's retired now) was a 60 year old goth. She used to show up to work in all black, with spiky leather plateau boots. In IT that's perfectly acceptable.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/23 08:19 AM

Yes, adults have tastes too. Some like metalheads, some like bohos, some like suits and ties. The one that reinforce the one type of a capitalist man is your employer. That's where you should watch out your hair isn't too colorful and take out your piercings.

Was that an exception or the rule in your life?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/23 11:27 AM

It's no truth at all. I know you said "not all women" but so far, in my life I see the opposite trend in 100% of cases. Your idea seems to be more the exception than the rule here. Or maybe there is a generational devide? I'm in my early 30s.

That assumes that women sit down over a spreadsheet when making relationship decisions, rather than follow their emotions. I did have girls who made me wait, but they weren't THAT into me. On both occasions they broke up with me, before we even did it. On the other hand all my long lasting relationships had no waiting period. And I am not a high value male. My job only feeds myself, I'm nerdy and while I look amazing now that I can grow a beard, I really couldn't until my late 20s.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/23 05:42 AM

Sure, and those are the couple of cases you were talking about. But the additional number of quality-of-life based ones are missing for the poor country men.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/23 01:43 PM
11

Because why would women from high quality-of-life countries want to move to low quality of life countries? If you go to Cambodia and promise a woman the land where milk and honey flow (whether that's exactly true or not), she may well say yes. But why would you go the other way?

I don't know. How does Gitlab do it? Or Platform.sh? Or Wikipedia? Open source software that handles lots of data exists, so there must be a way, or multiple ways.

The developers. Open source software exists you know. ALL of Linux is open source. And it's being wonderfully kept up thank you very much. Because ads and microtransactions and such are so horrible, I switched to only installing open source apps on my phone. I have an os youtube app, and a sudoku game, and a music player, and file explorer... they're all being maintained by someone, who doesn't get paid, but cares.

The kind one. I think it's fair to say that sweetness, selflessness etc. are not sexually attractive but platonically attractive. But neither are arrogance and selfishness, they don't add or subtract from sexual attractiveness, but they ate platonically repulsive. With two equally physically attractive men the kind one will outperform the mean one. The reason why women go with the asshole, is because assholishness is (often) a result of success. The football quarterback can afford to be an assho…

Why "of course"? A woman ambulance drive could have done the same. The only people where gender was important are the carriers. Everyone else in the story could have been a woman no problem.

Carrier isn't exactly the same as protector and provider is it?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/23 11:11 AM

Yes. That's the point. If it was easy everyone would do it and it wouldn't be of any use as a ... pre-screening I suppose. This is actually the realm of pickup lines. They're not supposed to woo the woman by implying how big your dick is, they're supposed to show of how clever/funny you are. That's also why they work precisely once. I'm sure the first woman to ever hear "Did it hurt? When you fell from heaven? Because you must be an angel" was utterly impressed. Today it at best provokes an anno…

I did that too, bit I have to say I didn't quite get the flood of messages I expected. Also not really any particularly desperate ones. What I did get was "Hi, how are you doing", "Hi, you are beautiful", "Hi, do you like to party", a lot. Very boring. I conclude that it is very important to stand out with your first message.
